It should be obvious…either way…it’s not good. Duh.

Conservatives will try to gloss over these latest revelations as no big deal, but it is a BFD. What is the significance of the biblical quotes on intelligence updates?

1)	America has a secular government whose foundation is religious tolerance. Most of the original 13 colonies have their roots in religious freedom and tolerance of other religions. Our nation will go to war for economic (oil) or political (WWII) reasons, but not for religious superiority.

2)	Muslim countries are theocracies. Religion is intertwined as part of their system of governing. They will go to war for religious reasons and it becomes a jihad.

3)	The biblical quotes associated with war introduce the notion that God is on our side and we are engaging in a religious war. As Bush 43 said, “A crusade.” A medieval term used when Christians fought Muslims to control the Holy Land.

Will this become a recruitment tool for Al Qaeda? Very likely, as Al Qaeda sees this as a jihad.

Is this revelation a bigger deal than releasing 2000 pictures of tortured Muslims? Without a doubt.

Are our soldiers less safe? Yes, it gives a rationale to the enemy to fight harder.

Within the next two weeks our President will be going to Egypt and give a speech to Muslim countries. Our President will likely face this issue head-on. He may have to explain that we do not engage in religious wars and Americans wish to live in peace with the Muslim world. Unfortunately, the right-wing nuts in this country will not “get it” and continue to spew anti-Obama venom…perhaps calling him a Muslim sympathizer.

Stupidity like this makes me angry at Bush 43, Cheney, Rumsfield, Rice, et.al.
First thoughts: The Green Mile

Obama
Pelosi
Reid

No thanks.

First thoughts: The Green Mile

FRead - "In covering this young Obama administration, the news never seems to stop, does it?"

And apparently neither does the government spending or the jack-boot on the collective countries industries neck government regulation. I agree with people here - David Gregory was NOT a moderator; he enabled Steele to push his agenda, rarely allowing Tim Kaine to speak.

Gregory needs to be replaced. Find someone like Laurence O'Donnell, who knows history, who will do his homework if necessary.

Sunday was the first time in months I watched - the guests intrigued me. Now I'm done. So sad.

Also - you blab on about covering the Obama administration, intimating that every day there is some kind of announcement. It's called work. It's called getting something done.

First thoughts: The Green Mile

FR: Steel had a "respectable performance" on MTP? What the...........
I saw it as anything but! Since we have the technology available today and car makers in other countries are already gearing up to do just that it would seem that if American car makers do the same thing we will save and create jobs here. As a transition to renewable, clean, sustainable, inexpensive energy we need to begin a program of using less oil. By doing so we can use AMERICAN oil rather than buying it from countries that hate us. This would put Americans to work and save Americans from getting killed in the Middle East. New technology which will come as a result of weaning ourselves off of the fossil fuels will provide and is providing higher paying jobs. The transition could be slow or it could be fast depending on how willing people are to tell the Arabs to take their oil and stuff it.

Chevron has already begun a transformation from oil company to energy company by exploring alternative energy. Their resources of scientists, labs, money and talented people all will contribute to reducing greenhouse gases and at the same time produce clean, renewable, sustainable energy that will provide jobs at home and eliminate our dependance on foreign sources of oil (from countries that hate us).
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
I normally don't watch MTP as I am no fan of David Gregory. It used to be a good show and I would make it a point to watch. Now only if I can find nothing else to do. I did happen to catch the interview with Chairman Steele. What is wrong with that man? Is he delusional? I never had really seen him in any detail before and thought he was a buffoon but now I don't just think it I know it. If that is the best the GOP has to offer than they are in bigger trouble than I thought. Steele and Limbaugh, spokesmen for the Republican party, what a shame, a once grand old party is so sick and nearly dead. They probably won't recover for at least a decade or so.

First thoughts: The Green Mile

Ron Indiana... writes...
