No less a person than former Vice President Dick Cheney has said that the CIA gave him misleading information, so it stands to reason that if the agency misled the VP (and by extension the President) they could also mislead members of Congress. Once again, Pelosi didn't suggest torturing prisoners, she didn't design the program, she didn't authorize it, she didn't create the legal justifications to make it appear to be acceptable, she didn't implement it. She didn't torture anyone, had no power to stop it, couldn't tell anyone what she knew under secrecy laws. Speaker Pelosi wasn't even a member of the majority party when she was or was not briefed. Something, anything to divert attention from the REAL issues. When you have no solutions, suggestions, answers but no you resort to tactics like name calling, diversion of attention to uniportant things and make a big deal out of them. You posture, and make silly statements that are time and again proven wrong but keep making the same stupid statements.

With leaders like Boehner no wonder the Republican party is in such bad shape. If he keeps it up, and I think he will, the party will lose more clout, more members and may very well go beyond the sad state they were in during the 1970s.

Because of people like Boehner one can wonder if there will even be a Republican party in 2012 or 2016 or if the extremists will become Libertarians and the more progressive righties will form a new party or take over Ross Perot's party. (American Liberty or something like that). With righty votes split for one or two more elections the Dems. should be in power for a couple of decades with no problem.

I guess I need to give up on trying to post -- tried earlier today, and that was one of many I've tried --for some reason, I never get through.

My point was that there have been several citations of the CIA having lied or obfuscated the truth. Even if you believe Cheney, which is questionable, it was Tenet who made the connection between Iraq and Al Qaeda, and we all know that's bull. And former Sen. Graham (D-FL) last night said the CIA cited 4 briefings with him when his meticulous daily notes showed that not to be the truth. So, to Boehner and friends, please stop beating a dead horse.

Lets all just face it, Pelosi was trying to cover her butt and was too cute by half trying to play politics. She wont talk about this any more because she got caught in a lie. I'm sure her lawyers/advisors told her to shut up so it will go away.

Truth be told, at the time this was going on, she probably was in favor of enhanced interogation and didn't have a problem with it. Now after years of the liberal press beating down the U.S. day after day, public opinion has changed. Being true to her core liberal principals (what a joke) now her opinion has changed with the wind.
