Yeah, Letterman's joke was 1)inappropriate and 2)not funny. But I do kind of have to take issue with Palin characterizing the joke as being about "raping [her] 14-year-old". Even when Palin has a decent point (can we please keep the children of politicians out of the discussion until they are of age?) she goes all hyperbolic with use of the word "rape". It undercuts any moral high ground that Palin might have been trying to hold.

Letterman was implying that Palin's 14 year old daughter was promiscuous. That's very inappropriate but a far cry from joking about her daughter being raped.

I can't wait for her to go after Jon Stewart now. You'd think after what happened to Tucker Carlson, these Republican "hacks" would know better than to stand in the ring with such relative intellectual giants.

I'll definitely be watching CBS tonight to see the beating she's asked for. I've got to admit, I've since forgotten about this offensive woman, but I think now I'll give Couric's interview with her another watch. It's not often you get a chance to laugh so hard at another's expense.

You can't be too mean to someone like Palin. The more it hurts her, the better; Familiy included.

I'm not a Palin supporter. I think she has zero chance of ever being elected to public office outside of the state of Alaska.

But...to all of the morons on here dressing her down for having used her children for political props and for her political gain, I have to ask you...did you watch the Obama special during the campaign that focused on his children?

Hmmmm...I'm sure you'd say something like "that wasn't him using his family members as props. That was just showing him as a devoted family man. That was completely different. He'd never do something like showcase his children in a prime time special during his run for the Whitehouse. Blah, blah, blah..."

The truth is ALL politicians do it. Sarah Palin isn't the first and for hells sakes she won't be the last one. Why does politics in this country always have to be "it's okay when my side does it, but I'll fry the other side when they do it"?

Every moron who made comment on here about Palin having used her children for political gain, that has cast a vote for a national election HAS voted for someone that uses their family members for political gain.

Wake up and smell the hypocrisy from both sides.

And it was about Palin's underage daughter's notoriety for being 'knocked up' out of wedlock.

What ever happened to class? Where is the humor in making rude, classless comments about someones daughter? David Letterman is a loser and is NASTY to his guests. I watched him for a while and didn't find anything funny about him or his show. The people on this comment page need to look in the mirror and keep NASTY comments to themselves. Gov. Sarah Palin is A Great Governor, and a firm believer in the people's needs and wants and is not out for BIGGER TAXES and paying for free loaders off the government. Everytime I hear the toilet flush I think of President OBAMA and what is happening in the United States of America. OOPS there is goes again!
