I'm not the least bit surprised he had an affair. I am surprised that he had an affair with a woman. I wasn't aware of his marital situation, but from the little bit I've seen of him on cspan and cable, I would have sworn he was gay. Who's surprised that another GOP politician is caught having an affair; I'm not. Now this begs the question, "Why does this man deserve the right of marriage?" My wife and I have friends who've been in a committed relationship for 23 years, but because they're both women, they do not have the same rights as Senator Ensign. What humors me is that prior to the alleged extortion, Ensign had no problem leaving his dinky doo time nice and tidy-quiet. But now makes the decision to make it public to bring shame and exposure to the Husband (not the boyfriend), but the Husband of the woman you had an affair with.

So which is it Mr Ensign..are you upset that someone is squeezing and forcing you to face your failure or upset that there was something you created that allowed someone to put the squeeze on you forcing you to face your failure?

It really seems as the political lines are being blurred. Republicans are being involved in sex scandals while Democrats are being caught in money corruption issues is getting a little weird. I would hope that this is all we hear about this until Ensign resigns claiming it interferes with his work.
