I'm an American citizen originally from Argentina and I go back to Buenos Aires all the time. I have two things to say about Sanford's excuse that make me think it's total BS.
First, I want to point out an even simpler reason why Sanford probably didn't "drive up the coastline": driving in Buenos Aires is a nightmare. It's about 2 steps better than driving in Cairo. People don't follow traffic signs, they drive recklessly, they cram up tiny streets with multiple cars. In The Year 2012.

I had a file I had put together during the 2008 primaries on Mitt Romney, but he was defeated by Huckabee, so I threw the file in the trash. I was saving it for the "general". He didn't quite make it.

I'll need to go back and re-create it perhaps. Mitt Romney? Really? Well, they are running out of serious viable contenders, that's for sure.

But I don't expect Romney to get too far in 2012. There's a wealth of material on him. I just have to go find it (again). I don't mind. I love to do research.

FR: I must admit I am getting concerned about the majority of posting on this board. It is fast becoming un-readable. Specifically the "mud slinging" from the conservative wing, although the Democratic side is raising it's head in defense. I think it is time to screen responses more carefully. There just are too many "bigoted" comments or snide remarks that just are not appropriate.

Stimulus has hardly been started to label it a "fail"

He did not "Quadruple the deficit" he added 600 billion to an inherited 1.1 billion so technically he spent 30% more.

Double digit unemployement would've happened no matter who was in office.

And we haven't even got inflation numbers back, and based on the drop in gas and house prices over the last year we will be lucky not to have deflation.

Govt. needs to become efficient. Too much waste, which is why the stimulus is going out slow. Throw the money out there too fast and it dissappears into oblivion (like the first 350 billion of TARP). It cost money to make things effecient, but subsequently cost savings over the years keep us competitive.

Let's all start ignoring the talking heads in washington and start supporting effecient programs. It will be an investment well spent.

Charlie Crist is most likely the only one with even an out side shot in a general election, but don't hold your breath that the Republican base would ever let him be the party's candidate. Certainly the Fox board of directors for the Republican party wouldn't let it happen. Until the party realizes that running for president means the individual wants to be president of all Americans and not just the president of their ever narrowing base they are going to have a hard time pulling off a reversal of fortunes. That a Barbour or Sanford or a Newt is even being considered says way too much about the state of the party.

I wish more people would seriously evaluate Romney. A poster said he had a "file" on him, but that can be said for anyone in politics - or anyone period.
