Where is the empathy? Sen. Graham is so worried about "those boys." But what about all the children in South Carolina whose education is underfunded because of Gov. Sanford. What about all the children who don't have two parents because people believe in deporting undocumented "aliens" whose children and spouses are citizens? The list could go on and on. If anything, Gov. Sanford and his friends like Sen. Graham should realize that the forgiveness they feel they deserve, the second chances they feel they should get, are no different from what their constituents ask for all the time.

Too bad that Adulterer Sanford didn't do the honorable thing and resign, but then he's just another crooked evil elephant who cares more about himself than his constituents. His wife Jenny is really lame to not dump his worthless behind and get a divorce. She'll find out soon enough that he isn't trustworthy.

That deadbeat Barbour is impolite in saying that talking about Adulterer Sanford's affair is impolite. I'm just glad that this story has legs and will harm the repugnant one's losing party for the next election cycle.

After seeing what little I could of this news item, hats off to Jenny Sanford. She has handled this with dignity. Heard a short interview with her and she stated her main concern was her children. Not if her husband was going to step down. Good for you Mrs Sanford.

The hypocrisy of Gov. Sanford is staggering! Why is it that all Rethugs can make these dastardly infidelity mistakes and remain in office but the Dems can't? This cheating fool, along with Newtie G. called for former President Clinton's head for the tryst he had with Monica, while they were both found guilty of the same thing.

I have no problem with Sanford completing his term in office and allowing his voters determine whether he is worthy to continue to serve or not. But if, Heaven forbid, President Obama were involved in anything remotely adulterous, the Rethugs would be screaming for his resignation immediately. History has proven that the ones screaming the loudest, are the most guilty themselves.

The personal mid-life crises, in love stuff aside—What really is the issue with this Sanford situation is that he walked off the job, lied about his whereabouts and was not available to the state of South Carolina for a few days. That is totally unprofessional, unacceptable and irresponsible. How can anyone dispute that?

Sanford used taxpayer money to manipulate a trade trip to Argentina when it didn't need to be held there. He used taxpayer money to sneak out of the country and visit his girlfriend. He deserted his post as leader of the state without telling anyone or asking his second in command to take over while he was gone. He deserted his family. And add to all of the above the way he has ignored the educational needs of the poor in SC.

I think he was looking for a way out, doesn't want to be governor anymore, or married anymore, or a presidential candidate.

Why should he remain governor? I don't believe he will be able to, or really wants to. Gov. Sanford, get a divorce, move to Argentina and marry your girlfriend. Live an honest life.

Scoundrels exist in both major parties but with a difference. The Republicans claim to be the party of family values so that makes it worse for them. Politicians with bimbos, gold diggers, or women wanting to be close to power is nothing new. But when the majority of those politicians being caught are from a party that, in a holier than thou way, claims to be a party of family values that is worse. People can tollerate policians dalliances but hypocrisy is unexcusable.

Being a golfer, I don't get to watch Meet the Press often but now I miss Tim Russert more than ever. I've heard the ladies on this page criticize David Gregory and this week was one of his worst that I have witnessed. Mitt (OJ said of him, "If the mitt ain't a fit, don't elect.") Romney constantly defended Sanford, citing Christian virtues and that every thing was in place for this Christian man and woman to bring up their children, and that this was more important than any transgression the SC Governor had committed.
Lindsy Graham, to his credit because David Gregory made no attempt to bring it up, congratulated President Obama and wife Michele for providing a great example of family values. However, completely passed over by Gregory was the question all Romney's preaching begged to be asked. It was, whether a gay or lesbian couple couldn't raise children equally as well as this committed, "Christian" couple. Gregory either didn't notice Romney's bully pulpit, or he refused to challenge him on the issue.

We are all tired of the hypocrisy these morally superior republicans are. Don't forget their idol Ann Coulter said the Democratic Party is godless. Yes, members of both parties are guilty of breaking their marriage vows and no one wee wee's me off more than John Edwards, but these guys are running around impeaching presidents and bad mouthing gays and preaching about higher roads while living in the gutter. This whole issue of family values should now be placed back where it belongs, off the campaign trail and into our private lives...
