Coleman, who has no insight whatsoever, underestimates the outrage in MN. about his refusal to take in what the rest of us knew...that he is one big loser. The only reason he was elected in the first place is that Senator Wellstone was killed in a plane crash toward the end of the race. He has not been popular, especially in outstate MN. We recognize that the only thing Coleman is for is himself. He has not done one thing to help MN. His ethics problems are going to be coming to light prior to a race too. The only good thing is that Pawlenty will not be running again. He has destroyed the state.

Yup Ron, we were winning 10-1. And we lost. I don't know what the biggest blown lead is in baseball, but this has to be right up there! Holy cow.

I was thrilled to see Markos on Ed's program last night. He means business. What a great guest.

I guess Eric Cantor & Co. are again sulking; this time it's because President Obama isn't calling and writing as much as he used to with them.

Oh brother. Leadership is sorely missing in their party. They have nothing. Well, except Ronald Reagan I suppose.

So democrats, here is my practical question now that you have majorities in everything how long before I can start complaining about the job your guys are doing without getting the Bush admin. Thrown back in my face?
See I complain now because I understand my history (like any good libertarian), and I can see very clearly that the same mistakes of past administrations are being made by this administration and in turn anyone could more or less predict what will happen.
So here it is. How long? 2 years? 4 years? Never? Just wondering. Things aren't getting any better, but I understand you have to give these policies time to succeed or fail. But all hyperbole aside. I just need an amount of time before an educated counter-argument can be made against the liberal policies of this Admin. And the Majority liberal Legislature without being lumped in with the republican who created the initial mess (which I am not a part of) or just called an Idiot (which is false and I resent the idea).

I realize MSNBC is a liberal stomping ground for many of you, but in the interest of honest debate and political education how long?

That was a great show of Justice yesterday in Minnesota as the Supreme Court there gave Senator Al franken a clear 5-0 mandate to take office. Good thing that sore loser coleman finally showed some class and concded, about time he finally allowed the healing process to begin.

How classy was Senator Al Franken in his acceptance speech yesterday, totally classy is the answer. His line that he's not the 60th Senator but the second Senator for Minnesota shows he's got some serious political moxy. He will be formidable as a Senator, just as he has been in everything he's done.

I hope the Big Fat Idiot blows a gasket as Senator Al Franken now has a much bigger bully pulpit than the Drugster Lush Limburger ever will.

Coleman wants to be governor? Unless the parties have some real idiots running he doesn't have the chance of an icecube in the Sahara of getting elected. People will be reminded, lest they forget, of the protracted fight he just lost and who dragged it out.

For those who think Franken is some silly clown remember this. It takes a very intellegent and observant person to be funny week after week with new and relevant material. He also graduated magna cum laude from Harvard. Those are not the qualifications of a fool but of an astute individual who knows enough to be an effective Senator. Congratulations, agin Senator Franken.

I wonder, do pitchers just want the game to end when they possess such a big lead? And get, shall we say, careless? Or perhaps they feel the game is won because they're playing a team with much less talent and just took it for granted they would win?

I think you are being sincere so I will tell you where I am at on this, I think Obama gets the first year,...Reagan's Recession started two years into his first term; but he cried Carter's mess that whole time. I thought that was 'unfair'. 9/11 happened in the first 8 1/2 months and Bush claimed "No one could predict..." - well, I won't go there - you've read the reports. So, since this recession was already packaged and waiting on President Obama's desk on 1/20/09 - I say he gets a full year. If by January 21, 2010 we are still bleeding 400K-600K jobs a month; well then I will probably have to agree with you that he isn't the miracle worker I was hoping for. In the interest of further 'fairness' - I think he gets a few Trillion to play with in the first 2 years. If we don't see significant program cuts by budget (Fall 2011, looking at Fiscal 2012) then I will probably have to agree with you that the massive spending was a boondoggle. "W" spent FAR more and kept much of his spending 'hidden' - we have literally LOST billions in Iraq (KBR, Halliburton) and none of your team have lined up the mobs to go and hunt that money down. If you will recall, those contracts were "no-bid" because "...no other companies had the organization to handle such a massive undertaking...". Do you see ANY irony there?

I will admit when I think Obama is screwing up (I have repeatedly on Civil Liberties issues) - but why can't any of you right leaning water carriers ever flat out say "W" was a class A screwup?

The simple answer is that many of them voted for him in 2004 even knowing what a class A screwup he was in 2000. People have a very hard time admitting that they are wrong, and the right is going through a major grieving process (see my blog entry http://jawillie.blog.com/4572815/">http://jawillie.blog.com/4572815/). In their defense, I suspect that if Obama actually turns out to be the big dissapointment they claim he'll be, we'll probably go through the same process. Of course, given how the Generally Obsolete and Pathetic party is imploding, I doubt he could do much worse.

Franken is the latest example of liberal hypocrisy....when convenient they scream bloody murder about "unqualified" conservative candidates, and in the next breath they are elated when a liberal jokster with ZERO qualifications becomes one of 100 US Senators. Many of you who sound so "deep" with your arguments just became pretty shallow.

I always love this "qualifications" talking point that the GOP loves to wave around. The Constitution clearly lists the qualifications for the job, and Franken meets them all. Age, and residency, nothing more. The Constitution does not decree that you have to hold certain jobs at local levels in advance. Never has, never will.

So, pray tell, enlighten the masses, what "qualifications" do you think a US Senator needs?

You are the same people who love to say Biden isn't qualified to be VP. Biden has been a US Senator for how many years? Palin has never been a Senator, but has been a Governor for how few years? Yeah, see, this is what comes of having a "qualifications" talking point. It never holds water.

What about that hot shot young Republican kid that won election to the House, Aaron Schock? Is he qualified to be a Congressman? Has he ever held *any* public office before. By the standards you wish to impose on Congress in terms of "qualifications" does he meet them, and why?
