Good to see President Obama on the campaign trail already for our 2010 candidates like Corzine. New Jersey sure doesn't want a criminal like Christie in the governor's office.

The repugnant ones will always stoop to the lowest levels to defeat Democrats, just like Deed's dishonest opponennt is now doing. Deed's should be able to whip this McDonnell clown in any number of debates.

Any First Read moderators read the Washington Post today? Seems somebody oer there opened a box and found it contained journalistic ethiscs.

In a report on Obama's 'health care town hall', Michael D. Shear and Jose Antonio Vargas referred to the 'hand-picked audience' in the 'stae managed event'. The opening sentence in pararaph eight reads "In the stage managed event, questions for Obama came from a live audience selected by the white house, and from Internet questions chosen by the administration's new-media team."

It goes on to describe Obama calling 'randomly' on three audience members, who, (surprise, surprise!), turned out to be : A Service Employees International Union member, a HealthCare for America Now member, and an Organizing for America, (Democratic Party affiliate) member. It quotes White House officials as saying that this was a 'coincidence'. Buy that and I have a bridge to sell you, cheap, in Brooklyn.

Add to that the grilling that the press corps gave Robert Gibbs yesterday, and it looks to me like maybe a lot of the trained seals are turning on their handlers.

Maybe, just maybe, we'll start getting reporting now, and not propaganda designed to make Obama look like the second coming.

Virginia gubernatorial candidate McDonnell is an honest, straight forward man who will win in November. Instead of "going negative" he has positioned himself as a bona fide problem solver. He is not easily pigeon-holed as a classic conservative southern Governor type and will surprise many democrats with a strong showing in Northern Virginia.

Mr. Deeds sees the writing on the wall and will continue to distance himself from President Obama.Unfortunately, Mr. Deeds will not be able to distance himself quickly enough or with much success.
President Obama and the democrat party have "shown their cards" and believe it or not the majority of people(especially in VA)don't want to live like wards of the state.

Mr. Deeds has shown again and again that he is a progressive problem solver. Mr. McDonnell just wants to implement the failed policies of Republican VA governors past, which is a history of failures at every level: environmental, social, and even economic, which was supposed to be their strength. When I hear Mr. McDonnell's over-saturated TV ad about keeping regulation in check, I realize that for what it really is- a big payday for the coal, electric power, and trash disposal industries that would ruin my beautiful state for their narrow-minded profit. Virginia imports more trash than any other state except for Texas, and burns dirty coal to be an electric power exporter. Mr. Deeds sees a better path forward to prosperity for Virginia, involving clean high-tech industry, but realizes we need the best schools to achieve that goal. As for Mr. Obama, I think he's doing a wonderful job. Not perfect by any stretch, but compared to the last guy? It's night and day.
