Palin's addition to the Republican ticket, Noonan said, was "political bullshit."

Ten months later, Noonan's opinion of the resigning Alaska governor seems to have deteriorated further. In her Wall Street Journal column today, Noonan just unloads on Palin, characterizing her, accurately, as everything that's wrong with Republican politics in the 21st century. She even recognizes conservative claims about Palin, only to quickly knock them down.

"The elites hate her." The elites made her. It was the elites of the party, the McCain campaign and the conservative media that picked her and pushed her. The base barely knew who she was. It was the elites, from party operatives to public intellectuals, who advanced her and attacked those who said she lacked heft. She is a complete elite confection. She might as well have been a bonbon.

"She makes the Republican Party look inclusive." She makes the party look stupid, a party of the easily manipulated.

"She shows our ingenuous interest in all classes." She shows your cynicism.

"Now she can prepare herself for higher office by studying up, reading in, boning up on the issues." Mrs. Palin's supporters have been ordering her to spend the next two years reflecting and pondering. But she is a ponder-free zone. She can memorize the names of the presidents of Pakistan, but she is not going to be able to know how to think about Pakistan. Why do her supporters not see this? Maybe they think "not thoughtful" is a working-class trope!

"The media did her in." Her lack of any appropriate modesty did her in.

Noonan, methodically and thoroughly, simply takes Palin apart, detailing the governor's inability to be thoughtful, unwillingness to learn what others think, reluctance to explain or even understand her own policy positions, and tendency to say things that are "scattered, illogical, manipulative and self-referential to the point of self-reverence."

Noonan concludes that we're in an era in which the nation needs "conservative leaders who know how to think" and a Republican Party that is "serious, as serious as the age, because that is what a grown-up, responsible party -- a party that deserves to lead -- would do."

From Noonan's keyboard to the party's ears...'

Palin followed orders on Ayers attack

It certainly wasn’t an original thought. I attack just to piss you off but it's always what I percieve to be true. I think you're a thin-skinned phony. As far as issues are you too dumb to figure out who and what I am without making up all that "mindless chitter chatter" about me just to hear yourself talk.

I'm on Obie's side as far as gay marriage is concerned. That's right, I agree with Obie. YOU okay gay marriage.

I am against abortion AND the killing of abortion docs. God will know what to do with them at a later date.

The Republicans are as irresponsible as the Dems.
Like that, Mark? EXCEPT that Obie has spent this country into oblivion and has no direction. Biden as much as said so. So I give Bush credit for at least holding true to what he percieved as right and wrong while Obie is still trying to figure some way to please everybody. That doesn't work and it's HIS economy now, not Bush's. I didn't agree with Bush concerning immigration. It was all talk and he did NOTHING to stop it. Obie doesn't give a damn either.
If you are here illegally, you go back. It's cut and dried with me. Play fair and come into this country legally. YOU are on the flip side of this one. We know that.

I also think term limits are necessary. The fact that Kennedy or even any Republican can stay forever is ridiculous.

I think Obie is short on America's defense. I don't like him apologizing for America in any way because he comes acrossed weak and I believe he is. I don't recall him saying one positive thing about America in his visits overseas. I consider him beyond a socialist.

I don't believe in redistribution of money because all he's doing is taking away a person's ability to become the best they can be. I'm a capitalist and I don't like it when people lay around and do nothing when they are capable of working. If they're well off and don't want or need to work, that's THEIR business, not Obie's. Free entitlements should be given to the elderly, sick and disabled, not someone too damn lazy to work for a living expecting me, you or anyone else to hand him OUR hard-earned money.

And after Palin gets criticized over and over for things she didn't do or had no control over, like that $150,000 campaign wardrobe, Michell Obama can take those $1200 purses and stick them where the sun don't shine.

In the last 28 years a Dem has been prez for only 8 of them and HE was a lying, cheating pathetic human being, as is Mark Sanford.

That's the diff here. Any attacks Obama's campaign strategists (Axelrod and Plouffe) intentionally avoided personal issues. McCain's infidelity was NEVER brought up by Obama or Biden. Obama basically avoided any talk of Palin. He focused on McCain's stances. I thought the emphasis on how many houses he had (or didn't know he had) was petty, but it still wasn't an attack on his character. It showed how out of touch McCain was with the average American family.

You must not have been paying very good attention during the primaries and the fall campaign!

Palin followed orders on Ayers attack

Lies (Sent Friday, July 10, 2009 2:31 PM)
----------------------------------------------
Yep, you're right. More gop lies. If you're going to quote him, get the whole quote. Here is exactly what Barack Obama said when asked about Ayers:

"George, but this is an example of what I'm talking about.

"This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who's a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He's not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.

"And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn't make much sense, George."

So I guess you aren't really interested in the facts. You just want to cut out one sound bite that makes him sound like he is covering something up!
