Once again the "no confidence" vote on Gonzales shows that protecting the GOP party and the White House is the number one top priority of the Republicans. Lying and bending, if not breaking the law is OK, because they have to protect one of their own. Save for one (Orrin Hatch), none who spoke yesterday defended him or stated he should stay on as AG. When is the interests and views of what's best for America and its citizens going to be the top priority in the GOP decision making? This kind of blind, misguided loyalty has got to stop.

Boy, I hate to speak well of Lieberman, but back in 2000 he was the toast of the town, and now he is just toast. He was added to Gore's ticket to remove some of the stink of Clinton's "immorality" (To borrow a phrase from Gonzalez, it was a "quaint" way of looking at the world). So Lieberman helped some, particulalry in Florida (that's why Gore actually won Florida - sort of). But his bizarre embrace of everything Bush including the immoral leadership of Gonzalez will be the way he is remembered and will discredit anything else he has ever done. History will judge him harshly as being a Bush apologist when the country truly needed moral leadership. He led on the wrong moral issue of his tenure, and is now exposed as a hypocrite.

AUSTIN!!!! LOL, in texas we call Austin the people's republic of Austin. It is a great city, 6th street and Guadalupe street in front of UT is where I hung out a lot in the 80's. They really care about their parks and thank god their thinking has not caught on to the rest of the state. You would think with all this liberal thinking, they would be leading the state. WRONG! The republicans run this state from the state to the local goverments. The little old grandma who said George H W Bush was born was a silver spoon in his mouth and got severaly whipped by his son, was the last liberal to win anything in this state. Because we texans(at least 70% of us) got smarter and now we enjoy a great life in this state thanks to the republicans. Republicans made this state safer by passing the castle law, Now I can shoot a perv and not worry about a waste of time and tax money in a grand jury and save the state millions of dollars in a trial, plus open up some room in our prisons for other crimes. The mostly republican AG's that were fired did refuse to prosecute some cases that were passon on to them by the RNC. Why, because they recognized them as BS that stunk so bad that they were not willing to risk their careers for partisan dirty tricks. As to real election fraud... this is what the whole DOJ situation is about. A lot of phony election fraud that the RNC was trying to perpetrate to cover the real fraud that they were committing. One of the "new" AG's even was brought in with the justice’s department’s knowledge that he was involved with caging. And the there is ACVR, the source for the information about voter fraud that was used to write all of the voter ID laws. Where are they today? How about their "founder" Thor Hearne? His buddy "Schlockman" sure put on a good presentation in front of the senate judiciary committee (opps, he may be indicted now too)... And it all leads to Rove and his long time masters... The sad thing is that so many people like you are too blind to see that you are the ones typically getting screwed by the very people you support. If you would ever see through the Bush BS, you would really be pissed… When the justice department is corrupt itself, there is NO justice…

The Democratic Party dragged the state of Tennessee into the Confederacy by setting up a phoney referendum and embarking on the most massive and well documented campaign of voter fraud and intimidation in the history of the world prior to the Soviet Union and the pocket dictatorships like Saddam's Iraq. All this to negate the results of a prior and honestly run referendum in which Tennesseans rejected the Confederacy.

A Squad of Democrats went to the Ukraine supposedly to monitor elections there and consistently worked to cover up the massive voter fraud there, you may remember how that turned out.

Democrats are historically the worst offenders in voter fraud, and they most likely to make false accusations of same.

Pretending that a crime didn't happen does not make it go away, it encourages repeat performances.

Now I suppose we can expect another round of forged TANG memos and Downing street Memos (with originals carefully burned and out of focus photocopys of unrelated documents printed to give the impression of validity), complete with attempts to rewrite the dictionary to make the words fit a pre conceived notion.

One good thing about Global warming, perhaps enough of Canada will be free of ice to house the democrats who promised to flee to Canada in 2004, and will get another chance at it when they wake up to a new Republican Administration in 2008.

Hate to post three times in a row but it just occured to me that there seems to be a drive to squash any investigation of voter fraud even though organizations like ACORn have already admitted to massive fraud perpetrated by their field agents durung the 2004 elections.
Its one thing to make a claim that there is less of a problem than news reports and indictments from 2004 seem to indicate but an article writen by Richard L Hansen , which I just read, shows a complete lack of candor. He seems to be trying to lull the public to sleep , with dreams of all going nicely.

In this state , in 2004, Democrats went so far as to spray the local Republican head quarters with 9mm rounds. It didn't do them much good since a large number of Democrats voted Republican, or didn't vote, that year because they despised John Kerry.
Around here Republicans don't win elections, Democrats lose them.

Considering that the Democrats spent more than a century burning crosses and lynching both Black People and White Republicans in order to disenfranchise Black Voters, this attempt by people like Hasen to open the flood gates for ever increasing attempts to subvert the Democratic process while at the same time claiming that measures taken to prevent voter fraud somehow Disenfranchise minority voters seems pretty lame.
Perhaps they are concerned about those people who still show up at the polls though they have been dead for decades.
Are Zombies now a Minority who's right to vote is somehow in danger?

It's like the old story about the elderly woman wishing to be buried in Chicago so she could remain active in the Democratic party.

Hasen's claim that no voter fraud problem exists should be looked at as a warning bell that it does, and likely will get much worse if the Democrats have their way.

Investigation into the alledged 5,000,000 missing Emails has revealed that 4,900,000 of them were spam offering Herbal Vigara and Faux Rolex Watches.

Someone with more time to kill than I have did a little calculating and found that 5,000,000 emails generated by aproximately fifty accounts would be in the neighborhood of 100 a day. Thats a buttload of typing, perhaps everyone involved was writing novels about their adventures as agents of the dastardly Karl Rove.
Personally I hope you people find 5,000,000 emails to go through, it will keep you busy for awhile.

I'm not sure what that even means.
Have you never read a history book in your life. Books are neat low tech items, schools used to use them all the time.
Googling up information already known is a good way of cutting and pasting it here with less likelyhood of error.
As for more recent articles by Palast which show his decided bent for slavering on the feet of Hugo Chavez, you can look them up yourself.

Don't wish to dominate this thread but I must add a couple of things that may not be common knowledge.

So why can't the sender's IP address be used to identify the spammer? There are two problems. One is that spammers often work through forwarders to hide their IP addresses (see below). Another is that the sender is often a zombie that has been infected by a computer virus, and is programmed to send spam without the owner even knowing about it. There are millions of insecure home computers, and they have become a major source of spam.

You seem to be jumping through hoops to defend something that the very perpetrator himself will not defend. Griffin is not attempting to claim that the emails are bugus for one reason. THEY ARE REAL! He quit as soon as this came out. While it is easy to spoof an email address, it is not the case here and Griffin knows that. Also, all you need to do is to start looking at the recipients systems and you can usually find copies for verification. I have done a bit of forensic work in the past and can assure you that this is the case. The senders IP Address is clearly abailable in this case, as well as the recipients. They also are registered to who they say they are. In the case of a spammer, the scenario is very different and the senders address will show up as some random IP address regstered to a consumer network (DSL, Cable). This will typically be a computer that has been compromised and is now a "bot". The Judiciary committee has now asked for an investigation. Lets see where this goes. Also, in regards to "caging" you might check your history books. The GOP has a bit of a history with this scheme!

By the way, your comment about Democrats and hoods is laughable at best. Maybe you should be paying more attention to what is going on now, rather than facts from 60 years ago. The Democrats were the party of the south for a long time but is not the case anymore is it?

Regarding Palast, just because he wrote some complementary articles about Hugo Chavez does not make him a bad journalist. While there are many things that most of will not agree on about how Hugo has been handling things in his country, he has been willing to stand up to the World Bank and how they have been raping third world economies. There is much we could learn from him in this respect.

I'm pointing out that Emails can be forged just as TANG documents or Downing Street Memos could be forged or misrepresented and that authentication is necessary for anything of this sort to rise to the level of evidence.

Griffin chosing not to feed a public spectacle by insisting on retaining his already temporay apointment does not indicate criminal intent and the Term Caging applies to legal activity which only becomes illegal if there is a provably illegal intent.
