Leno proved himself to be a right wing hack when he allowed AHHHHHHH-NALLLLLD to announce his candidacy in the recall election in CALEEEEEE-FORRRR-NEEEE-AAAHHHH 4 years ago. But, then refused to give Grey Davis equal time to speak. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if he lets Thopmson pull the same kind of cheap theatrical stunt on the air. I won't be watching this garbage tonight. I stopped watching Leno years ago. He isn't entertaining and he isn't funny. The man doesn't even come close to Johnny Carson. Whoever is responsible at NBC for this clown ruining the Tonight Show should be replaced. I watch Letterman instead. He's funnier and more creative. I would suggest everyone else do the same, especially tonight.

Funny thing about the polls: The CNN poll shows Fred to be in 4th place in NH after the latest debate. Wonder if not announcing early enough and getting debate action is hurting Freddy? Being on Leno won't get him any points from the working crowd - if you really work for a living you don't stay up that late to watch TV cause you have to get up so early to earn a living - so I guess it is business as usual for Freddy, only the rich and lazy will hear him speak and those are the only ones he cares about anyway. I ought to know, he acted at being my senator for over 6 years, did not do a good job with that part either. As Fred Thompson former Senator who made a name appearing on Law & Order gears up to throw his hat into the Presidential ring the press is a buzz. There is truly an array of candidates vying for the White House in 2008, among these are a woman, a minority and an actor turned politician. So much attention is being paid to the type of person running that the big issues are being forgotten. In my opinion the color of the skin is of little importance, what is really important is their stance on key issues like global poverty. Non-profit organizations like the Borgen Project are working to bring political attention. This is more important now than ever because there are items in place to end global poverty. The UN Millennium Development goals would end world hunger by 2025, provide universal primary education, disease treatment and gender equality among other things. As the political race rages on I hope to see more attention being paid to the issue of global poverty. There is no reason that people should go to bed hungry.

If some of the comments were from people who were born when Watergate actually happened, they might change their (M. Moore) tune and realise that tough times require tough individuals with more than a highschool understanding of the political process. We Americans are blessed with a republic which works; there are parts that need attention, just like the hundred year old pipes delivering water to NYC; mostly we see it working at every level. They refuse to support his amnesty. But -- he has made a generous offer I understand to secure the borders in EXCHANGE for amnesty. Isn't that just too gracious of him. Since securing our borders is his JOB. Who cares at this point who is going to be the candidate - much too soon to even speculate - we have another long painful 18 months of the shrub and who can even IMAGINE what other mess he will have us in before (thank God) we can send him back to the ranch. At least SOME of the senators and congressman now are moving away from him - they are hearing from home and seeing that anybody in bed with him is history - whether R or D. The issue of today is border security and amnesty for illegal aliens - if Thompson WERE prez - maybe he would put our nations' security first and foremost and would ENFORCE our LAWS - but then he, too, probably is on the take from big business and will sell us down the Rio Grande as well.

If you're unaware of what has happened, google Ed and
Elaine Brown and GET aware asap. It's not so much
about doing anything at this point, it's more about
spreading the word, because interestingly, the media
doesn't seem to be getting anywhere near this event.

Here's what we all need to de-brainwash ourselves
with:

Normally, when there is any kind of allged debt owed,
in any other circumstances, the matter is a CIVIL
matter. We're talking about FRN debt instruments and
the "service" of "internal revenue" in this case.

Put aside all the notions about master files, the
fraud, etc. We know all that. Here's the point that
needs to be made and spread like wildfire:

If someone claims you OWE a debt, it is a CIVIL
matter. NOT CRIMINAL. There is no "debtors prison"
in America.

The IRS manipulates an assumed authority to construe
an alleged debt into a "criminal" jurisdiction. They
do this without authority by most people's lawful
measure of authority, and they do this via provable
and demonstratable fraud. (Fraud IS criminal.)

Funny how when they're faced with computer and mail
fraud criminal complaints they tend to leave people
alone.

Gee, I wonder why.

A tax is a "monetary charge." There is no injury to a
person at any time when a person decides not to pay an
alleged tax. There is no crime. There *may* be an
alleged *damage*. It is a civil matter based on
alleged contracts and/or obligations, NOT criminal
based on someone having been injured.

Yet what we have happening in the northeast with the
Browns, whereby the govt is attempting to take them to
prison by force, or kill them, would suggest that the
Browns have committed a criminal act (murder, assult,
rape, robbery, etc).

They have not. They are involved in a matter that can
only *lawfully* be defined as CIVIL.

Yet the government is willing to kill these people in
an attempt to jail them, all based on a CIVIL matter.

Would you kill someone who allegedly owed you money?

Would you jail them? If *you* allegedly owe someone
money, should YOU be jailed? Should YOU be killed for
not paying a debt?

Who would kill or jail you, and why?

Think about it.

Think about what kind of people, and therefore what
kind of govt, would demand such things. Define that
type of person and govt, and you'll have a very
enlightening answer about the country and world that
we live in.

Then tell other people. Help everyone pull their
heads out from deep within their buttocks.

If you're not a part of the solution, you are a part
of the problem.

On Thompson, I will keep an open mind, and read/listen/watch everything possible to determine if he is qualified to serve. I've noticed several postings from TN natives who didn't have much good to say about him, but of course everyone has their opinions. Can the Thompson supporters list some reasons (not just that he looks presidential) why they are convinced he's the best the Republican party has to offer? For instance, I support much of what Ron Paul has said about our government following the Constitution, and his voting record backs up his words. What has Thompson done as a senator that should convince me that he is the best choice?
