Johnson which dramatically changed US immigration policy.

This is what Ted Kennedy said about the 1965 bill.

"The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs."

Kennedy is now the chair of the United States Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security and Citizenship, and remains a strong advocate for immigrants, both documented and undocumented

About the same time there wasn't enough room for citizens to have children.

The Unacknowledged Holocaust

Back in the 60’s the Federal Government came into the public schools and brainwashed us as little children with the message that the children we were about to have were unwanted because the population was rising so fast. They launched a program called, Zero Population Growth”. . They pushed Family Planning and birth control pills. I think you and I now both know that you only have to trick people for their few child bearing years and there is no going back.

Many of us never had a say in the future of our unborn.

I am the result of two living cells. One from each of my parents. They are the result of two living cells, one from each of their parents. I wasn't just born. I am a continuation of life. I am a living thing that reaches back into time perhaps 400 million years and the result of billions of joining of pairs of cells. It is possible that if you were to follow my cells back to my parent’s cells and beyond that my family tree touches every living thing here on earth. That is if we limit ourselves to believing life was created here on earth. If it rained down from the immensity of the universe it could reach back into that immensity of time and space, and who knows what relationships and who knows what species.

At least until I came up against the Federal Government and their plan to control the population.

I have seen the Federal Government do little else to control the population.

The open border, United States laws only apply to some, is a serious slap in the face. No, not a slap in the face, it reaches well beyond that. Maybe back to the beginning of time and stretch to the bounds of the universe.
Hillary on immigration, faith

another reason clinton has no chance of winning the general election, why is it that people refuse to talk about the real problem and it ain't legal immigration, illegal aliens over running the country, law enforcement told by elected officials to ignore the laws already in place, the new flood of illegals that will surely come because they know if they sneak in they will also be granted amnesty somewhere down the road, declining standard of living for all but the scum that hire these criminals, I could go on and on, clinton best remember the illegals are not the majority in this nation yet, this is the only issue that could possibly make me vote for a repub, but they have proven they want the illegals here also only for different reasons, looks like the illegals win the united states citizen loses

Hillary on immigration, faith

Amen to that Bob!

Hillary on immigration, faith

I notice the Dems are getting in on the Jesus Freak bandwagon this time. This is a good idea, because if all the candidates claim to be born again Holy Rollers, it tends to marginalize power of the religious industry which gave us his happy holiness George Bush, who, in the name of Jesus and the new banana flavored Twinkie, gave the store away to the ungodly rich, which was hustled to the brainless majority as God's will. I remember when this plant at a Kerry function asked him what his position was on the religious fruitcakes of America, and he gave some off the wall BS that meant he didn't give a piddle about the kinds of people who would stand by and watch a poor old woman give a rich preacher the last of her cat food money to get her soul prayed for, and this turned into the religious community installing the Bush Mafia in the Oval Office. Dems, don't make that mistake again. Do like Bush the Wuss and tell them you go on walks with Jesus and watch him trying to learn how to do cartwheels on water. That's all I'm saying. Not that they pass much of it along to consumers. I believe you could at least partially solve the problem or alleviate it by moving some crops and businesses to Mexico where these jobs would be available to the workers without them having to hike through desert-like conditions and scale a fence, not to mention deal with border guards and possible confinement, and if they make it through just fine, in many cases they are subjected to conditions that are at least as bad as those described in Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath", which depicts what happened here during the great depression. Central America has lots of arable land to make this happen. In addition to this, families are split up for years or for life. Why can't we work with the Mexican government and other governments who have an interest in this situation? It would cost no more than putting up a long fence and providing an army of border guards, in addition to the schooling and medical expenses these people cost the US taxpayer. This would not only prevent much illegal immigration, but provide incentive for some of the twelve million already here to return to their homeland. If this isn't being considered, it is probably because it is not as profitable for the corporations and plantations that get to use these people in ways similar to our days of slavery.

Hillary on immigration, faith

I don't think it's accurate to imply, or outright state, that Hillary is getting on the Jesus Freak bandwagon for purposes of this campaign. She has never denied her religious nature; in fact, when confronted with questions about how she could stay with Bill after Monica, she explained that her religious beliefs had a large role in that decision. Not everything a politician says is said just to win over votes; sometimes they actually mean things.

Hillary on immigration, faith

I'm all for Clinton, but she's far from being politically savy. I have been noticing for a few months that Dem candidates have been emphasizing their religion more so than I've noticed in other presidential campaigns. I believe Kerry would not have mentioned religion at all last time if it hadn't been for that woman in the audience that I mentioned above. I think this is because they noticed how Bush played the religious card last time and benefited by receiving the evangelical vote, which about equals the Hispanic vote. However, if it is partially or wholly my cavalier attitude about religion that you find objectionable, I won't apologize for that, since the religious community has for ages put it's trip on all and sundry to worship the idol they created out of their imagination, and have enforced it via penalties of imprisonment and death, including burning at the stake. But I will leave it at that since you haven't stated that is part of the reason you object to what I wrote. As for Hillary, I would vote for her in preference to any Repub, and I am not concerned whether her protestations of religiosity are or are not motivated by a demagogic bent. First, she hasn't been honest with America about her initial vote on the Iraq War.

Second, she's disingenuous; her speeches illustrate that she wants to be 'all things to all people' and she CAN'T.

Third, the ethics of she and her husband are very questionable; examples include Whitewater, their abuses of Executive priviledge while serving in the White House, various sexual scandals, and until just recently, the joint Clinton Blind Trust and its questionable investments.

Fourth, she's playing the 'religion' card to serve her political purposes. Track her life and the realization becomes clear that she uses religion to serve her agenda rather than being positively transformed by it influence.

America needs honest leadership from a person who's willing to admit his/her mistakes rather than someone who 'passes the buck', is arrogant, disingenuous, and has shady ethics.

America, it's time to be led by someone whose greatest strength is in his/her public acknowledgment of personal weaknesses and someone who's passionate about SERVING Americans (Clinton's into the power; she self-serving).

As stated earlier, I will not vote for Senator Clinton as the Democratic candidate. Besides, I've had too many years of political dynasties - - Bush 1, Clinton, Clinton, Bush 2, Bush 2.

Hillary on immigration, faith

I look at the immigration problem as a corporate type problem.
When America was young it was like a new company just starting out. America already has enough people who can't speak english, who like to live with 20 family members to an apartment, who like to steal everything that is not welded to the floor and want the government to give them free money and support so they can have 5 more kids !
TIME FOR AMERICA TO PUT OUT THE "NO VACANCY" SIGN !
So go back to Mexico Pedro, we don't need the yard mowed, the driveway sealed, the car washed and no, thank you, I don't want to buy your daughter.

Hillary on immigration, faith

Wouldn't be surprised to see Hillary pick mcCain to be her vice-president.

Hillary on immigration, faith

"When Irish eyes are smiling...."--Old song

Hillary on immigration, faith

The day that Hillary Clinton asks her "faith" for a decision will be that hell freezes over. Will they ever have to stay in a neighborhood taken over by non English speaking people, non American cultured people, non American loyal people and watch the community go to hell in a handbasket with gang crime in their front yard and be stuck there because they can't sell it and get out? Of course not - only ordinary working Americans must deal with that. Only middle class and poor Americans are affected in a negative way. We have poor neighborhoods in this nation of OUR own people where Hillary, McCain, Bush, Kennedy could care less about little black middle school age kids in a Baltimore district where half of them will not make it to high school. The other half will be dealing drugs on the corner, turning tricks on the corner or dead from a bullet in a crime ridden neighborhood. I am not racist as some of you will yell, I am not black as some of you will think because I am outraged when I see and hear of these innocent little kids who had nothing to do with their birth or their parents or where they happened to end up on this earth. They are forgotten - nothing, to hell with them and the millions across this nation that are OURS - they are CITIZENS born to CITIZENS - granted their parents may be worthless - but why? Jobs gone, hope gone - knowing no better for some, downright sorriness and laziness for others. The point here is when these politicians are singing these tear jerking compassionate stories about "poor illegal aliens" - I would remind them and US that charity begins at home. I resent the hell out of MY tax dollars paying delivery for illegal Hispanics being dropped every 10 months here as anchor babies, my ER's and clinics being bankrupted by people who have no RIGHT to be HERE, let alone stealing resources we pay for, my schools going to hell in a handbasket trying to teach ENGLISH for crying out loud in AMERICA. Do these politicians really think we are that STUPID and will stay that STUPID? To MD in San Jose and others - go to www.numbersusa.com and find your facts about population growth due to immigration - both LEGAL and ILLEGAL. Before you start spouting there are no numbers to support our anger and our fears -- then spend a moment to educate yourself enough to be making those statements. We are not just making this up because we are a bunch of bored people with nothing better to do with our time than bash illegal aliens. We are caring, worried, hard working, patriotic AMERICANS doing our very best to hold on to this nation for you and the rest of the bleeding hearts in this nation and the sorry politicians as well to keep from losing our culture, our language, our economy and all that makes this great nation what it is. One more excuse you people have beaten to death is our own ancestry. I don't care if my ancestors were brown eyed, green haired jack asses that immigrated here from MARS - that doesn't have one damn thing to do with this illegal alien issue of TODAY. So, please, if that is all you can come up with - just stay quiet- it is such a poor excuse for turning your backs on our nation when we should all be working hard to preserve our heritage for future generations of AMERICANsS - not Hispanics. Their culture is in their nations and if they refuse to accept ours - then get the hell out - nobody is keeping you here - and take our illegal immigrant loving politicians and their bleeding heart following with you. If you care about this nation, then call your senators and those in other states who are selling us out and let them know you will not accept it. You can simply tell them, vote yes for amnesty and we vote NO for you and we WILL remember on election day. As for religion in politics, I am a born again Christian who firmly believes elections should not be about bashing or pushing somebody's faith. Yes, we should know a little about a person's beliefs - we certainly don't want a radical Islamist Muslim in office, but if people are decent, law abiding, fair people who are TOLERANT of other people's faith whether they agree or not on certain doctrines, then that should be sufficient. A candidate's ability, qualifications and passion to protect our nation and do what is best for this nation and her people should be the deciding factor. And in this next election - amnesty for illegal aliens is going to play a HUGE part in who goes in office. Americans are fed up and those who turn their backs on us in favor of big money and illegal aliens are going to be quite surprised when they are sent home. Call your senators NOW - be heard. We can only do it one at a time - but united we CAN take back our nation.

Hillary on immigration, faith

Good idea to bring the Mexican government into the mix on illegal immigration - I mean, what the hell do they care anyway? It just depletes their population and good riddance - somehow the illegals need to have a stake in staying where they are. Mexico is top heavy with a few rich and many, many poor....there is barely a middle class as such. Sure immigrants are coming from elsewhere in Central and South America, but if you believe what you read they take the lives in their own hands trying to get through Mexico. Mexico is corrupt beyond belief and needs a political reality check....I don't think Bushco is the crowd to do it however. We apparently assume the problem is all ours when in fact the ultimate problem rests with Mexico, pure and simple.
We need to get very very tough with the Mexican government as regards enforcement of illegal encroachment across border areas. The apparent assumption is that since we have the money and are the target area as a landing site, Mexico has no responsibility. I say bullshit to that thinking!
Bush has cozied up to the Mexican government since he's been in office (don't get started on NAFTA)...really, this has got to change. The 'amnesty' bill is coming back as we all know and congress wants to be 'compassionate'....or in other words, they recognize the economics and the potential future votes at at stake. But when citizens lose their jobs because illegals work far cheaper (I have friends) folks have to speak out.
So what's the solution??

Hillary on immigration, faith

Are we talking about illegal immigrants or hispanics? You have enough for the illegals to go around so we will make up for your lack of compassion for OUR grandchildren and the nation they will inherit from us and you can continue to give yours to the lawbreakers on our soil. Somebody has to make excuses for criminals - the jails are full of innocents and you are as good as any for that job.

Hillary on immigration, faith

I don't mean to start a battle, but as a patriotic, law-abiding, American CITIZEN myself it breaks my heart to turn the "melting pot" of the US into a racist nation. And that is what is happening. We are for one ignoring the fact that our ancestors came here as immigrants. The way that they "migrated" would be considered illegal according to our current legislation and we would be calling all of our ancestors illegal criminals, too, but we won't do that... will we? Go ahead, tighten the border, but check up on overstayed visas, too. Make it about the Canadian border, too, and crack down on illegal immigration as a whole. But give people a way to come here legally, and I bet they will. Forgive me if I offended you by saying that this debate is turning into a racist thing, I personally think that it is, and if you are offended by that comment, maybe it’s more your fault than mine. I think that we should take any steps to make our country a safe place, but there are people that NEED to work here in our country and we NEED them, what would we do without a lot of these people? Would you buy tomatoes for double price because we need to pay our citizens twice as much as the others are happily making? Do you want to try to fund the already dwindling social security fund without all of the tax dollars paid on paychecks of illegal immigrants who can’t file for tax returns or get any of the social security benefits that they spend years paying?? I am neither rich nor poor, highly educated nor ignorant.. I do however have a heart, and I realize that I have done NOTHING to earn my citizenship; I was simply the effect of people reproducing after migrating to the western world a long long time ago, when THANK GOD the immigration laws were not as they are today. Look into what it takes to be a permanent resident or a citizen and tell me who deserves it more. I guarantee that a lot of the illegal immigrants working here today would do it “the right way” if given the chance, it’s just that a lot of America wants to take that chance away.
