From NBC's Kelly O'DonnellSo for John Edwards the day has finally come to say he's in the race. Sure, all the signs have been there as he prepared to launch a new campaign, but one quirky clue goes back to March 2004.

Way out on a limb because it is so early in the game, it sounds almost too good to be true. Could Democrats be so smart? Could Hillary and Obama swallow their respective egos for the good of the nation? Yes, it is almost too good to be true. If Edwards/Obama were to run, America is ready. If Edwards/Obama replaced Bush/Cheney (wow! that sounds wonderful) 2008 would be (almost) worth the wait. Where is that door?

The door to 2008

Please tell Elizabeth we do not need a superstitious first lady....been there, done that....Nancy Reagan.

The door to 2008

As an Independent, I/we are used to not having any recognizable faces running for Presdident, especially since Sloppy the Clown retired, the last of the really funny candidates. Oh, sure there was Zippy the Pinhead, Cowpatty Corny, and Fungus the Damp, and even Bozo (I'm not sure if Sideshow Bob ever announced), but the Public saw them for what they were. A Bunch of Clowns! As Independent as Ben Franklins' sistern cleaner on his day off, but take off the grease-paint and they disappear. So we settle for Lawyers and Protest Organizer Candidates. I look at the Major Parties and I see the Dems running another "Kennedy" and the Repubs running another "Reagan", mainly because another "Clinton" or another "Dubya", doesn't really work right now (general traslation: It's because it's all Clinton's fault that Dubya is a blithering idiot.) How lucky they are. They don't have to replace Sloppy.

The door to 2008

Steve, please don't call Dubya a blithering idiot, it's not fair to call him a name of which he doesn't know the definition, nor is able to pronounce...plain old 'Idiot' will suffice:-)

The door to 2008

I am praying that the Dems don't screw this up. I want a President that says , this is who I am, often times you may like it, some times you may not. But I told you so when you voted for me. I do not want a President who is on his ranch 3 years later into his war saying, I am still taking advice. 30,000 dead and injured, countless Iraqis killed every day. Happy New Year. The most evil man on the planet today, so says the U.S., will probably be hanged this Sunday. When the Christians come out of church on Sunday, they will learn that. My recent clergy person told me one thing. If you need proof why the death penalty is wrong, look to the crucifux. Jesus Christ was subject to the death penalty.

The door to 2008

Gary Schear, take your prayer one step further and give any money you can to your choice. And then, go to a rally, or do one thing. Your last stop should always be to go and vote. But before you do that, make sure your state has the tools to insure your vote counts.Prayer is good, but in the end, god helps those who help themselves. Take a small step.If you cannot give money, and many of us cannot, then support your candidate by telling them so on a web-site. If you find them in your town, go to their rally. and then vote. but make sure your vote counts.

The door to 2008

I agree "Duh-bya" probably does not know what blithering means. Regardless of party affiliation, the President is elected for all Americans, to advance the welfare of the state and to advance the well being of all Americans. This has not been done recently, and I am reaching back to the days of JFK. Too many times the White house has kissed the ring of party leaders or the monied hands of the elite, to win favor and legislation. It is time to elect a President that will stare down the hardened glares of angry Congressional lions, in order to push policy that helps every American. Example: border security and immigarion reform is NOT a conservative issue; nor is it a Catholic Church issue nor is it aimed to displace hispanic immigarants. It is an issue that concerns every single American; but we see stories in the media, driven by one group or another, that makes us believe that if the published group does not get their way, there will be hell to pay. So- whomever gets in thew white house needs to grow a STEEL NERVE and SOLID BACKBONE and fight for the welfare of Aemrcians; party and special interests be damned! Happy New Year to all...

The door to 2008

Hey "The Edge". A reservist, who had already served 18 months in Afhganistan, learned he was going to be redeployed to Iraq. On christmas day, he barricaded himself in his father's house with several weapons. As the police were preparing to deploy tear gas and come inside, the reservist stood in the dooreay with a gun pointed at the police. A policeman shot once and killed the reservist.

The door to 2008

wow...its not hard to see that most of the people who comment are democrats...and george bush is the blithering idiot??? umm...i have a definition for that...its democrat..ohh they do fit hand in hand

The door to 2008

The story in Somalia, I encourage everyone not be swayed by headlines and sound bytes. That nation and their neighbors have a complicated history. A two sentence headline will not suffice. Ethiopia invaded Somalia with our help of the Somalian government, there, which consists of clans, who did nothing to help the people. the Islamists, stepped up, and helped the people. that is what I here from the people who live there. They do not want Ethiopia to invade their country. This situation is very dicey. In the end, we are backing a country, (Ethiopia), and allowing them to invade Somalia. These two countries have long had grievances against one another. We have National guard from Guam training the Ethiopians in guerilla warfare. Therefore, this is another war we are fighting. Make sure you inow the facts behind this war.All may not be what it seems.

The door to 2008

The average individual would believe spending the time to obtain intellect on this topic is a waste of money.
