I wasn't being tongue in cheek - the Clinton campaign deserves kudos for getting this level of support from Buffett. It carries a lot of weight with folks like me and the 40 million others who are trying to figure out how to make our 401(k)s perform like Berkshire Hathaway.

Oh-eight (D): Battling for Buffett

H.P. is about as negative as can be, she makes me look like a liberal so her comments are about as worthless as Elizabeth Edwards.

Oh-eight (D): Battling for Buffett

Eh, I'm already getting a bad taste from Clinton supporters. On another thread I was called jealous and insecure because I'm not supporting her. Now I can't even give her campaign a compliment (I've given her campaign plenty, because I'm impressed with how its performed so far) without being lumped together with others by someone who obviously didn't bother to read my post. This is all too reminiscent of Bush supporters, who called us unpatriotic without bothering to read what many of us were actually saying. You seem intent on having your candidate viewed as the new Bush.

Oh-eight (D): Battling for Buffett

I should have said all negative but you Paul. And sorry I went off on you. I actually was irritated about the other part; how I was an insecure member of my gender because I'm not supporting a candidate from across the 'real' aisle. I love the process and didn't expect to be backing anyone so soon. But I am backing Obama, though my support is soft. I do think it would be a trick to get me into Clinton's camp for two reasons. One, I don't think she can win the general election. And two, if she could, that fact would only perpetuate the degenerating political discourse. We could use a president who is less polarizing. Its time for someone outside these two families, I think. I also think the thing propping up Clinton is an understanding by some of her supporters that nothing would be a harder kick in the shins for Republicans than her election. We need to break that vindictive cycle. However, and back to the topic here, the Buffett move is a good one for her. If (and I doubt it) she can find a way to defuse this reaction she causes Republicans to have, I'd be more receptive.
