When I first heard Coulter would be on Hardball, I asked them a simple question. If Coulter was making the same kind of hateful remarks to minorities as she does to "liberals" (read anyone who disagrees with her) would MSNBC being giving her a megaphone to spew her invective?

I never got an answer. (Surprise)

I told MSNBC that if they aired Coulter, I'd boycott every show on MSNBC except for The Countdown!

As a long time viewer of MSNBC I am baffled why MSNBC, and Hardball particularly, continues to provide a forum for Ann Coulter's delusions, personal attacks and lies . I cannot fathom how your presumably reasonable and well-educated producers and hosts can justify continuing to cover the latest "books" and rantings of such a truly vile person, which are clearly intended to inflame and shock your audience (at least those who are still capable of being surprised by her trash). Since her fellow Republicans lack the integrity to distance themselves from her, the least MSNBC could do is to stop legitimizing her existence. No respectable media outlet should still be talking about or to Ann Coulter.

Your viewers (and frankly most Americans) are sick to death of her.

If John Edwards is attempting to be the Democratic candidate for President in 2008 then there's a lot of good questions he could be asked. These aren't questions about Ann Coulter, anyone like her, or what Ann or anyone like her says. Hardball has wasted two programs: one in which Coulter said nothing of substance and continued to debase political debate and a second, in which John Edwards appeared and wasted his time (and that of the viewers) by discussing an appearance that should never have happened. In a philosophy class, long, long ago, I learned there are two types of beliefs--mediated and immediate. Mediated are the ones you arrive at from logic and thought. Immediate beliefs are those you believe just because you believe--a leap of faith. The belief in God is a classic example of an immediate belief. Mediated beliefs can be changed if you can communicate a better thought process, better evidence, better logic, etc. Immediate beliefs cannot be changed by logic or communication. You don't arrive at immediate beliefs through a logical thought process; you can't be led away from immediate beliefs by a logical thought process.

People of Ann Coulter's ilk that believe the world is black and white and everyone who disagrees with them is wrong are not operating in a world of logical thought processes. You may as well beat your head against the wall as to try to have intelligent discourse with them.

John and Elizabeth, save your efforts for those who might benefit from it. Ann Coulter is wasted effort and if you continue to try to battle her, you are being just as illogical as she is. She is simply not worth it.

Her statement about wishing for Edwards to die in a terrorist attack was meant to solicit a two minute hate. Why didn't Maher get the same treatment when he said the exact same thing about Cheney. THAT IS HER POINT. Matthews is a smart guy. He omitted her broader argument and purposefully misled his audience for the purpose of raising the pitch of the liberal two minute hate.

I fear for this country. Not all men named Hussein want to kill us. But more men named Hussein want our destruction than those named Larry. Ms. Coulter's comments really don't deserve this kind of discussion and really just highlight the extent of the divisions between the left and the right.

Politics are about finding middle ground that we all can live with but the reality is there's very little compromise going on between the liberal and conservative in this country.

What I find unusual, however, is that the conservatives who claim to believe so strongly in god appear to be the most judgemental and destructive. Both Bush Jr. and Bush Sr. are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of human beings and for that I would think they should hope there isn't a god, and that goes for Ms. Coulter as well. I personally don't believe in either group, or in god for that matter, and believe this country's best days are behind us.

I am not in favor of using economic efforts to suppress free speech. I spent thirty years in broadcasting and believe in the obligation of the media to present all points of view, no matter how repugnant. Having said that, it is time for Ann Coulter to be scrubbed like a fungus from the airwaves. Her latest statement advocating that terrorists kill John Edwards is beyond the pale. She no longer serves a legitimate purpose in the media. If she said the same thing about the President, she would deserve to be arrested for incitement. I recommend that anyone who feels as I do, call her advertisers, both local and national, to let them know you will no longer purchase any of their products and that you will encourage your friends to do likewise.

I was really sorry to hear that Ann Coulter is booked on "Morning Joe" tomorrow. It means another day for me without MSNBC. When I turned on Hardball and realized she was the guest, I changed the channel immediately and decided to boycott MSNBC for the rest of the evening. I watch MSNBC all the time. Rarely miss Keith (if I miss it at 8pm, I watch at midnight) but I can't support any network that gives her a forum. Looks like I'll miss my favorite network again tomorrow. Please, stop this madness. Coulter is not a legitimate pundit. She is not a political debater. She is a hatemonger and doesn't deserve a forum on MSNBC.

Elizabeth Edwards' phone confrontation with Ann Coulter on Chris Matthews' show reminded me of mother's who (inappropriately) get involved in the battles between their children. I think it would engender a more manly image of her husband, John, if she would let him fend for himself.

More importantly, she shows the hypocrisy of herself (and other Democrats) who are quick to condemn and criticize a Republican for "nasty" remarks. I wonder if she found it offensive when those of her Party, including Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, made cruel and disparaging remarks about President Bush.

Many of the Democrats in our Government have been slinging mud and propaganda, and doing their best to
damage the President and the Republican Party for many years. Instead of working to unite our Country, they are working to divide it. A house divided cannot stand.

The Republicans in our Government have not been throwing-around disparaging remarks toward the Democrats.

Ann Coulter is not a member of our Government.
Nor are Bill Maher and Rosie O'Donnel and Michael Moore, who have made very disparaging remarks about our President, members of our Government.

She overestimated Ann Coulter as a human being. Coulter has no shame. In order to feel shame, one must first be principled, ethical, consciencious; qualities Ms. Coulter sorely lacks.

I believe it was Samuel Johnson who once said "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel". But Ms. Coulter is NOT patriotic. Rather she cloaks her virulent nationalism by misnaming it. In response to your comment (see above posting by Richard Managan); I too agree that because of the First Amendment Ann Coulter does have a right to speak - no matter how hateful and despicable her statements may be. The First Amendment, however, never gives anyone the right to slander another no matter who you are or what your political affiliation may be.

As for Maher, I do recall hearing his comments being played over and discussed. As much as I do not like or agree with Cheney I thought it was in bad taste (by Maher or Coulter) to wish that someone die by a terrorist attack (or any manner), especially when so many families went through such a horrible atrocity and continue to feel the pain of losing a loved one in this manner.

As far as more men named Hussein wanting to destroy us than those named Larry... Really that is just a ridiculous statement. Statistically speaking, there are more Husseins in the world than Larrys and more radical Muslim Husseins than Radical Larrys.

I listened to a portion of Anne Coulter's diatribes. I noticed at an instance that she was always on the attack and babbling issues and not allowing anyone to get a word in sideways, when portions of the issues I heard her espouse, were not substantiated by the truthful facts relevant to the matter. The problem with Coulter is she is trying to espouse her shallow world view on the political stage much like the likes of Tom Metzger and the White Aryan Resistance. As an independent, I am advising all in my family to vote straight democrat, as Coulter's nefarious rationale brings to mind the lies of the swift boaters and republican party as a whole with its laughable "Compassionate Conservative" moniker with the republican stranglehold on laughable morality and truth, and the denigration of cognitive, cogent, constitutional pragmatism in legislating our democracy. Coulter reminds me of another blond seeking attention in order to fulfill some void in her soul, who just got out of jail. I am sick of hearing anymore about either of them. Does cable think the American public is that dumbed down? Coulter is actually a good thing for the democratic party, for she shines a bad light on the republicans, and brings illumination to a crisis in our democracy under Republican domination. That, also, goes for the activist, Republican dominated Supreme Court, which will risk another conservative justice nomination by a Republican president, should a republican president win the 2008 election. When it comes to the Constitution, I prefer to err on the side of liberality, rather than right-wing conservative, Supreme Court interpretations which may take a generation to assure or restore my civil liberties, should they go further in restricting the first amendment and narrowing of separation of church and state. Intolerance is alive and well in the U.S. The only difference between fundamentalist Christians and Muslims, is fundamentalist Muslims are willing to strap a suicide belt on their children to promulgate their intolerance of differing views. This is a classic example of what the media has sunk to. Allowing the likes of Coulter to take up airtime when she is known to throw ugly, unsubstantiated comments out for her own version of the Paris Hilton attention loving dumb blond schtick. Coulter manages to parade as smart - with the help of dimwits like Mathews - who is no liberal.

Coulter was on the show as a lone conservative guest. Mathews doesn't have the intelligence or professionalism to choose really good guests and give them the opportunity to discuss the ISSUES.

I have suggested before that these shows not use either the hosts or the guests. Beck and Mathews, Hannity and O'reilly are still there plus plenty more. If you want good journalism, get on the web. You can fact check anything you read very quickly. You can also see stuff like this without having to watch all of it or any of the commercials. Otherwise, what you will understand of the candidates can be summed up by what the media wants you to THINK you know. Kerry wasn't the first, nor will he be the last, to get his comments and views distorted, redistorted and his reputation ripped off because the media didn't bother to screen the Swift boat accusations for truth. Is it any wonder we don't get very good candidates to run? You have to put your sanity, reputation, family and future at risk to run for president in this country. How many of the people who are willing to do that probably do not have good reasons for it?

If you really want to understand some of this, like how far into the sewer the media has gone, do some non fiction reading of highly recommended and well documented books. And do check the sources. Ann has been found to use a lot of inappropriate footnotes.

While I do not like, appreciate, or would every prayer for good things for Ann Coulter, I will refrain from directly calling her names, attacking her family, making fun of her looks, or middle-name.

I never said she was a spoiled teenage brat, I said she was acting like one, and I didn't say she was a neo-nazi, I simply said she has gross similarities to them.

This is me (a registered independent who votes depending on issue, not with party) using my First Amendment right to voice my opinion of someone who I think is spending so much time hating people, I wonder if she has ever stepped back to examine what her legacy will be when she is dead.

Coulter is a very smart and educated woman. She watches all the political commentary and was able to pick up on a small joke made by another show that is shown only on cable and seen by few and mimic it. I believe she is fantastic at dishing it out, but is taking the attacks on her comments personal rather than part of the debate. She may have had a lot of best sellers, but she apparently needs to consider taking a break. Her comments were completely over the top, she makes her comments with deep conviction and with the sound of hate which sets her appart from other commentators and certainly from comedians. The past several times I have seen her on TV, heard her comments or read something she has written I was outraged. I think Mrs. Edward's had every right to ask her to be more responsible. Coulter has certainly attacked her family shamelessly. Go ELIZABETH!!!! I hope Ms. Coulter will consider taking some time off and reflecting on her positions and her language and not continue to make such a spectacle of herself in the media. She is coming across as a woman close to a nervous breakdown. If you can throw a punch, but can't take one, then take a break and get out of the ring until you rebuild your personal strength. We normally don't watch network news, but my boyfriend was napping on the couch and it came on so I got to see the sparks flying between Ann Coulter and the Edwards campaign, (and what appeared to be a "nonpartisan" reporter as well adding his chastisement to Ann).

Ann Coulter makes mince of these people, and the best they can do is charge her as being mean and unfair. It's a waste of time going after her, quite simply because she is both brainy and beautiful, a deadly combination. Your viewers watch in ringside seats, and come away saying "She's hot!"

Poor Mrs. Edwards was made out to be a sobbing sow, and Johnny once again showed up as the undignified but pretty schoolboy, putting forward as much emotion as is possible for a puppet.

Problem is, Ann is still prettier, even than John Edwards. And much, much smarter.

So some people want to boycott Chris's show because he had Ann on. What's wrong with taking the day off and not watching hardball that day. Chris Matthews is a liar and many people responding here are either morons or sheep. Ann Coulter did not say "I hope the terrorists kill this guy".
She was commenting on Bill Maher's having said something about wishing the V P had been killed by terrorists and his having gotten absolutely no media flack about it. What she was saying was maybe she should have said that about Edwards since apparently it was an ok thing to say-at least it was if you are a leftist saying it about a conservative.
This overreaction and distortion of facts is another of the many examples of left wing media bias.

The question is raised as to why smart sound americans support Ann Coulter ostensibly by buying her books, but also by simply agreeing with the core principles for which she stands. Yes, Coulter can get out of bounds, but what many actually recognize is that the Democratic Party and it pundits (large segments of the media) have consistently been outrageous in their daily diatribes against this country, its chosen president, and largely the culture of this nation. Bill Maher has penned at least two books and made the transition from Comedian to Social Commentator a long time ago. I like Chris's show for a long time. But after Ann Coulter's appearance on Tuesday, I decided not to watch his show any more. Really Michael--how is it her comment different from ones that liberals make about Catholicism and other Christian faiths on a daily basis? Or from the suits that the liberal-backed ACLU stirs up against any Christian practices in public domain--like navity sets and Merry Christmas?

Did you read "Godless"? I did. She's not attacking you as a Christian; she's attacking ideology that not only attacks but systematically discriminates against Christianity and what we as Christians (or many other faiths for that matter) believe.

Someone once said that if the same comments made about Catholicism in the press were made about Jews, the writers would be charged with anti-semitism. Public schools that cry out for "diversity" have been known to let students celebrate Hanakuh and Kwanza in class--but anything that smacks of Christmas has to be "banished" for fear that it's going to "offend." Among the biggest supporters of the Democrat party are NEA and other public school teacher unions.

Nothing in politics is stable because after four (we were lucky enough to have eight) years of building strength, someone like Bush could get elected and set about destroying it immediately. Some of you may not believe this, but the deterioration of the civil use of language can eventually cause a civilization (country) to fall. This is a very important issue to our country. I am extremely displeased with MSNBC for allowing known users of inflammatory, derogatory, hateful language (Coulter) on the air. Yes, we should always have freedom of speech. But that only means that a person can not be prosecuted (thrown in jail) for their speech. It does not mean that a person automatically has the right to be given a venue for their speech. It does not mean that advertisers cannot be boycotted for supporting a program that provides the venue. I can only hope that in time, political shows will be conducted accordingly.

My point wasn't about where the war should be fought (and our troops are still fighting hard in Afghanistan as well as Iraq, but that's a different issue), it's about how totally clueless some people are about sending money to John Edwards for the sole purpose of "defeating" Ann Coulter because she's "mean". If you want to support the Edwards' campaign--support it based on what it is you believe he can do to make the US a safer, better place to live. Personally, I don't think he can do anything, otherwise, he wouldn't be using Ann Coulter's comments about his and his wife's use of personal tragedy as his call to arms.

The Edwards' camp got what they wanted; their names were back in the news cycle when all the focus was on other candidates. They did it the way they usually do--by using personal issues to get the sympathy vote. If anyone can't see through that to realize there is no substance in his campaign, that's pretty sad.

Oh--and Ann Coulter didn't call the 9-11 widows "whores"---she called a particular group of women dubbed "The Jersey Girls" harpies. Again, if you read what she says about 9-11, the 9-11 commission, how these women were used as political pawns--and a lot of other things she says in support of the families of 9-11 victims---you'd understand the context of that comment. She makes some very salient points about how other people lose loved ones, and have no recourse, no public outcry, not one interview in Vanity Fair--yet their losses are just as devastating to their families.

And this is the case in point that I started on this thread: We're oversympathizing with a public figure who is capitalizing on his family's sorrow. Just like those who oversympathized with the Hilton family on that princess' lock up. . now she wants to go and be a spokesperson for all those incarcerated? She can't even begin to compare her experience to someone who when they're released, will be lucky to be employed and find decent housing. The same goes for the Edwards family--yes, she's battling breast cancer--but she has the financial means and insurance to help her win that battle (and don't even go into universal health care--the wealthy will still have more means, and some of us may end up with less). Yes, they lost their child--but so did five families in Fairport NY on Wednesday night. So did countless other families across the US this week, this month, this year--this decade. Their losses are no greater, their children no less loved than Wade Edwards was. Yet none have made a point of turning their heart-tugging stories into political gain the way the Edwards' camp has. And that comment was made four years ago, too--tell me, someone, why it came up again two nights ago? Ann Coulter didn't repeat it before that call--she had all new material. Tell me how Elizabeth Edwards is not trying to continue her pity me/vote for my husband campaign? The term, my friends is called "gunny-sackig"--it's used when you have nothing else in the arsenal.

First off--my kids are young--like under 10 young. And I do pray for our troops everyday--which means your child is in my prayers. I have great admiration and respect for those who choose to serve and are fighting terrorists on foriegn soil, as I believe their efforts are keeping terrorists from attacking us here in the US, unprepared and unarmed, at any time they choose. I feel safer knowing brave men and women like your child are there.

Al-Qaeda is not a country--and we are not in a war with Iraq, we are in a war against terror. There are nations that harbor terrorists; under Saddam Hussein, Iraq was one. Iraq is also in the center of the other mid-east countries that do the same, hence one reason why we are there and will most likely be there for a while. Afghanistan harbors the Taliban, which we did defeat at one point. . but like weeds, take out one, and two pop up. I believe we are doing better there than in Iraq, which is why our efforts there are rarely picked up by the news.

Do I have the answer on how to win the war? No, and apparently no one has come up with it yet, either. Since it's not my area of expertise, I'll leave that thinking to someone who can come up with a solution. Do I think there have been strategic mistakes in this war? Absolutely--that's a no-brainer. Do I think Iraq was an innocent country and we were just being the playground bully? Not a chance. Do I think pulling out is the right answer? Only if you want to see how bad it can REALLY get. .

As to saying sins are small, I was stating mine are for I am not free of sin, I would an idiot to say other wise. I would never support someone who spills hate so easily, so no I do not buy Ann’s books and never will for it would be a disgrace to put it near my bible. As for Terrorist in Iraq, that was caused by the American’s being there (you know when we invaded them because of WMD’s that was proven false), as if we were in Afghanistan that is they would have went to. Someone mentioned that we've seemed to have forgotten the important issue is that we're in a war against terror, not against any single country, and that we should focus on that.

Others have pleaded for Rodney King-style peace (Can't we all just get along?) while building strife in this forum at the same time.

But all this is amounts to distractions from the real battle, the real war. Like it or not, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Fred Thompson, President Bush and millions of others understand this truth:

They've read their Bible or had someone read to them, and through the power of the Holy Spirit understand that we're not in a war against kings and armies, but against unseen spiritual powers and principalities.

Our global collective enemy isn't "terror", or this country, or that person, or that way of life. The Enemy is his name - that's Who and What he is. He is The Evil One, The Deceiver, The Liar, who distracts you while he binds you up in his lies, in hopes you'll follow him to judgement and Hell. His name is God-given name is Satan, and he's going to surprise a whole lot of people very soon. He aims to be king of the world very soon. And he's going to deceive most of the world into thinking he is God, or the Messiah, or Jesus himself. Will he deceive you too?

Many people aren't shocked to hear this, becasue they already know, from reading their Bible. Some others understand this because they've been caught up in sin and think that God has given up on them, but that's another lie from Satan.

Jesus didn't die in vain, or for the 'good' people. You can't be good enough to earn a place in Heaven - no one in history has except Jesus. It's impossible for us because we can't help but sin, and God requires perfection -- no sin.

Because Jesus was sinless and was crucified anyway as a criminial for YOUR sins, all you have to do is to accept his payment, ask God for forgiveness, and live your life for Him alone.

But don't "think" you're OK with God. Know it. If you truly belive, then God's ways will seem perfectly right, and you'll begin to trust Him. He's never been wrong, never lied to anyone, and is full of mercy, compassion, and love for everyone ever concieved.

God's only Son is Jesus, who lived over 2000 years ago, was sinless, suffered unjust beatings, and was crucified by people who had sin in their hearts. It would have been no different today.

But believe in Jesus' power to rescue you, and you will live! Disregard him, dismiss him, live for yourself and do your own thing, and you'll die without him, forever. Eternal damnation is separation from God and his love for you. Forever.

It's a big decision, and you may not get a second chance. Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart right now, even as you read this. What are you going to do? What will you choose?

What are you going to do about Jesus??

Jesus said "I am the way," (he meant to Heaven, in the context)"the Truth," (ever wonder what is really true, how people come to peace with God?) " and the Life. Whosoever believes in me shall not perish but have eternal life." He said: "No one comes to the Father" (that's God himself) " but by me."

There are 2 essential questions that everyone has to answer for themselves:
1. Where am I going when I die?
2. How can I be completely certain?

Believe in the one person that has the power to save your eternal soul, and leave your worries behind. You'll begin to understand things you've never understood before from God's Holy Spirit, and you'll be saved.

Mohammed is dead. Buddah is dead. Joseph Smith is dead. People throw themselves in the filthy Ganges river every year, hoping to please the millions of gods they've made up. None of them has the power to save anyone, especially themselves. How could a dead person lead someone to life?

Jesus can do that because he's alive today, in Heaven, until he returns again to Earth to call his people back home. Your real home.

He might return while you read this, or in a couple of weeks, maybe later this year. But don't wait, because no one is guaranteed tomorrow.

Can you answer those 2 questions today, right now?

Ask for help - ask God for understanding, and he will give it to you. Ask someone you know that understands this, and they will love to show you.

The Bible remninds us that he knows each of us very well, that he saw you while he formed you in your mother's womb. That he has the hairs on your head numbered (that might be in the single-digits for some of us).

He knows what you go through every day, your struggles, your pain, your problems. But even while he knew of our sin, he cared enough to sacrifice the life of his only Son - for YOU. That's love!

Ann Coulter doesn't call people names, to be mean. She's just summarizing.

For instance, someone who practices or defends the practice of killing a human baby while still inside the mother's womb is an Abortionist.

Someone who expects to be taken seriously, in high positions of authority, but whines that people are calling him/her names, and needs others to come to his/her aid is a Whiner.

A person that belives our government should raise our taxes, have more power over the individual rights given by God and protected by the U.S. Constitution is a Liberal.

Someone who doesn't know the truth correctly says "I think" alot. Have you listened to John Edwards?? I wonder if he really does think as much as he says... he must be smart, thinkin' so much all the time.

Someone who decides they'd like to have sex with a person of the same sex, contrary to the laws of human anatomy and evidenced directly by the disease it causes, is a Homosexual.

Was Ann right on the "faggot" comment? By her own definition, yes. And no one proved her wrong. As she later clarified, the word was used synonomously with "wimp" or "cry-baby". She did not call him a Homosexual, and only addressed the topic when raised by Homosexuals and those defending their improper habits. Like she suggested, it's (maybe used to be) a play yard name use to describe a "wimp" or "cry-baby". She has no proof that John Edwards is a homosexual. And she even apologized to the homsexual "community" for the unforseen connection people made between homosexuals and John Edwards. Who could've seen that one coming?

Now "homophobe" is just nonsense. That suggest someone is deathly afraid of an unnatural sexual act, that leads to self-destruction, and emotional pain, separation from friends, family, and disease that leads to a slow, painfull death. Well DUH!

So by that same broke logic, should men naturally be called "castrataphobes"? Should women naturally be called "barenephobes"? C'mon... use the noodle, people!
