Athletes train for years to compete without any help from the government; showing discipline that politicians simply don't possess. Then some politician, the bottom of the intellectual rung comes up with an idea that the athletes should be deprived of possibly their one time in their entired dedicated career to compete in an Olympiad. The only real yield was that Jimmy Carter was thrown out of office and assumed his position as one of the worst president's in history. But give Carter his due, he remains the president most proud of his humility. Richardson needs to get himself a real job and quit feeding off political handouts for his survival.

Olympics boycott

We went to Hitler's Olympics, why not Chairman Mao's? Now, if they found Oil in Darfur, or WMD's, we'd probably be in there like the Chinese. (Why ARE the Chinese there, anyway? They make the boycotters look childish (we'll take our athletes and go home), and they only hurt the athletes who have nothing to do with the issue leading to the boycott. The Afghanistan thing was particularly dumb. We boycotted Moscow over the Soviet invasion. Yet now I'm reading how Carter Administration officials are bragging about how they manipulated the Soviets (suckered might be a better word) into launching that invasion, to give us the strategic advantage of them having to deal with their own "Vietnam." So... in other words, we boycotted their Olympics for doing exactly what we wanted them to do.

Olympics boycott

That dog doesn't hunt! -Classic

Olympics boycott

Ye gods, this Richardson is lame.Does one actually think that having the US boycott a Chinese Olympics is going to get the Sudanese JANJAWEED to say,''Gee Omar,we better lay down our guns and walk back to Omdurman''?Scratch another one off the list.
