I don't get this old fools logic. The amnesty bill (which is what it is) is dead because the majority of Americans don't want it. If they would simply enforce the laws already on the books, it would go a long ways towards solving the problem. As far a Iraq being a "national security issue", it is simply because we are THERE! I think that the existing laws should be enforced before another law is enacted. However, illegals have nothing to do with the minimum wage law; they are not the only ones committing crimes because of drugs, etc.; nor are they the ones crowding our prisons (if they are caught committing crimes, they are usually deported).

12 million of unknown people is a lot.....But the reality is that could be about 30 million of ilegals in USA>....The Z visa...it could work, But think this for a second...... I f you have to pay $5000.00.- to get a two years work/living visa,....but you can do the same as today and keep working ilegaly and safe $5000.00.-......Who wants to pay to be doing the same thing??........
The other way around it's much better...you pay them..to know who are they and what are they doing here and later on they have to legalizes there self and pay you with ineterest....40 millions by two thousand is a lot of money and also it's help the internal security of the country to know who is in this country....Think about it and use them!!!.....
But make sure you know who they really ARE!!!!

If the government will not enforce the laws.. perhaps it is time for Americans to do so. The government says it can't find the illegals? Well, here in southern Calfornia, you can't toss a rock without hitting one. My buddies and I could go down to Home Depot (or just about anywhere else) and pick up a bus load. "Living in the Shadows" HA... here in sunny southern California they are standing right out in the sun. Bush is trying to give the USA to mexico and I just don't get it.

Everybody who thinks we're going to be able to deport 12 million illegal immigrants is fooling themselves. The bill that was defeated was the closest thing to a "solution" that we were going to get and everyone knows it. Those who voted against it decided that they would rather use immigration as a political issue than come up w/ a solution for it. The "deport 'em all" solution just isn't workable.
