As a liberal, I cannot figure out where Clinton's support is coming from. She is not for pulling out of Iraq, she is for unilateral pre-emptive militar actions against country's like IRan, and she is a dangerously fanatical free trader with ties to Indian and Chinese outsourcing companies that propose shipping American jobs and technology to India and China at a rate that not even Bush would support. The NYT did some rearch on her stances that show she is has more corporate ties than any of the *Republican* candidates. Mark: I think the information from the FEC reports is important and thank you for sharing a few nuggets - please continue doing so. I like to know where those who have money, spend their money. There has not been a more critical time in the last 50 years so choosing who you are going to vote for has additional importance. At the very least, I would hope everyone would set aside party affiliations and vote for the person who is going to restore democracy to this country; someone who is going to represent 90% of the country, instead of the top 10% of the wealthiest Americans; someone who will respect the Constitution and our laws; and, someone who will care more about what is best for America than their own ego or legacy. Politics is full of ego and hubris - what we need more than ever is someone who is humble yet confident in their knowledge, intelligence and abilities and someone who has a moral compass. I have yet to see a candidate currently running who is worthy or deservant of leading the greatest country in the World. Please, make your vote count and study the history of any candidate you are considering voting for and not how the rich and famous are going to vote. Think for yourself and make a decision based on what is best for the country as a whole!

I love that Jerry thinks that Bush won't have any effect on the next election cycle. Jerry, the Bush administration is one of the best allies that the liberal progressive movement will have in 2008. If it hadn't been his gross negligence, unprecedented incompetence, and complete detachment from reailty, the GOP might have avoided the implosion that is going on right now. So.. again, thanks for voting for the President that destroyed the GOP. We on the left really appreciate it in a bitter sweet kind of way.

And Dave - maybe the First Read team isn't reporting that Obama received alot of money from a hedge fund company in Chicago because he didn't? I don't know myself but it is a possibility. You apparently found about it. Maybe you should put up a link of your own. I'm also failing to see why that is a bad thing...

I didn't know Texas Rangers made more than 200,000 a year. As I understand it, Democrats want to roll back the tax cuts to the wealthy Bush instituted and which has created an historic wealth gap in the country. They are not talking about taxing people to death, just returning the tax structure to the way it was in the roaring 90's. (Roaring for the whole country, remember? Now it just roars for the top 600 families.)
