It would be pretty easy for him to fall through the cracks while Repubs far and wide plug their pink little brains into the latest Harry Potter hijinks. Yesterday a federal judge dismissed charges against 13 ex-employees of KPMG, in what the government describes as the largest criminal tax case in US history. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/07/16/business/main3061910.shtml A perfunctory reading led me to assume the judge was a Bush appointee, since it deals with a 2.5 billion dollar tax shelter fraud benefiting wealthy clients. This was given a twelve second spot, whereas the Harry Potter affair gobbled up the kind of space normally devoted to something like the Lewinski hug. The Harry Potter work is called Order of the Phoenix, a pretentious and phony enough title to introduce the reader or movie-goer to a serving of treakly smarm that would be more aptly named Another Lump of Everlasting BS for the Brain Dead of Gen-Z.

Thompson announcement in Sept.?

RH Oregon / trickle down economics is great long as your the one doing the trickling and not the one getting trickled on, the trickle has stopped and the top is about to burst, hang on may be a bumpy ride for repubs

Thompson announcement in Sept.?

-->>> Thompson needs to cheat on his wife

Have you seen her? Better then anything you see in the magazines you use instead of a wife.

Thompson announcement in Sept.?

Jade Sepolen. Non-profit organizations like the Borgen Project are working to bring political attention. This is more important now than ever because there are items in place to end global poverty. Granted I'm under 30 so my perspective may be different. To me he was just another typical politician who managed for the most part to please the electorate(despite Reaganomics and Iran Contra) and weather the Cold War. If you're going to vote for someone..vote for someone on their own merit and track record and not b/c they seem similar to another politician. In that fact you are not voting FOR your candidate but in the memory of another. I swear, I remember Republicans saying the same thing about Bush....and yet they blindly try to follow the same logic over and over again. Both have been going strong since Apr. 03 when the bear market ended.

Thompson announcement in Sept.?

"Republican Forever/ "DOW cracks 14000. Unemployment at 4.5%." do you realize how utterly meaningless that statement is to average working stiff . . ."

You mean the ones with a 401K who see that they won't have to depend on a bankrupt Social Security system when they retire, the ones who can send their kid to college without having to take out a loan, the ones who see their companies pension fund is fully funded and secure, the ones that can retire before 65 and enjoy their extra leisure time by doing volunteer work at their church, the ones that feel comfort that their kids who are graduating will find employment in their choosen field of study, the ones that don't have to suffer the indignity of accepting handouts from the government to fed, shelter, and put clothing on their families because they have a job.

You mean those kind of people MK,MO!!

Yes! Exactly those kind of people!!

MK,MO, let me guess, you're tons of laughs at parties?
Thompson announcement in Sept.?

"Most of the mutual funds were down today."

JIrby, seeing you are such a wiz at the financials, could you please provide us all with an update on the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P for year to date, 1 year, 3 years, and 5 years. Unemployment rate trends for that time period would be bonus.

Many thanks.
Thompson announcement in Sept.?

People here hate Bush so much, they'd call "white" "black" if they meant getting a cut in on Bush. There is being partisan, but these people are insane.

Thompson announcement in Sept.?

His acting background may end up being one of his biggest assets in the upcoming election. Merle Stanley, you're and idiot. Don't you remember when John Kerry was running agains Bush in 2004 and how he said the economy was terrible and un-employment was through the roof. By the way, after 9\11 the dow fell to around 7000 points. Now it's up to almost 14,000. That happened in the Bush administration. Not Clinton's. Oh, and when Clinton was President, did you give the former President Bush credit for Clinton's economy. After all as you say, he left a solid foundation. I seriously doubt it. You liberals are all the same. Oh and by the way, I want to buy a house not sell one. And when it's good for buying, it's bad for selling. Moron. What's you're IQ again.
