Enough is enough. While the Justice Department is part of the Administration, it has become far too political. I'm not saying this is Bush's fault, because I honestly have not investigated this. I fully expect something to happen before Bush gets out of office. With his new executive order of May 9, giving him absolute control over all branches of government in the event there is some calamity (it was very vague in the order what would constitute such a calamity), and Chertoff's "gut" feeling that something is going to happen this summer, (also, the order stated that Homeland Security;i.e. Chertoff would run the country{God help us}) I would not be a bit surprised. Don't forget those detention camps that it was reported last year that have been built around the country for "rapidly expanding programs.". I'm not paranoid at all, but in my 53 years, this is the first administration I have ever been fearful of. Like someone else said, I am more afraid of this administration than I am terrorism.

What scares me is how easy it's been for Bush to ignore laws, change laws to suit himself and just do as he pleases. What in blazes is Congress doing in D.C.? Never mind, I forgot that the Democrats are a thin majority with the Republicans still bowing to King George's will. Suppose he decides he wants to stay in power as Jim, D.C. suggests? Our total military force, that's active duty, guard and reserves, are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. So, who would stop him if he seized permanent control? The citizens of this country? With about 26% who think Bush can do no wrong and a number of citizens who are scared little sheep that will do as they are told, we have a snowball's chance in hell of restoring the Constitution. Lord, I never thought I would even believe there was that possibility!

Ricardo - It's my opinion that Democratic voters and many Independents made the '06 election about Iraq. However, myself and most of my friends, who are registered Republicans, stayed home in November, not because of Iraq. We stayed home because the Republicans in Congress were spending our money like drunken Democrats, and we were very unhappy with Medicare Part D, parts of No Child Left Behind, and with the lack of progress around securing our borders. I've heard over and over again that "'06 was about Iraq!" and it probably was to some people however a lot of dedicated conservatives I know didn't vote to protest the domestic policies and continue to support the President in the War on Terror.
