The interesting thing is to notice how packed this campaign is with Bush loyalists, and how rigidly the campaign is sticking with its "Seinfeld strategy" of being about nothing. Will the news media remain complicit in that strategy by playing along and keeping coverage shallow?

As for Jeri, the GOP has never minded backing a sock-puppet president before now - it will be interesting to see if they blanch this time just because the lead puppeteer is female.

Bruce, I realize you must feel very out of place - living in the state that has a city called "Sin City" and pretending to be conservative, but if you really are you would know that it does not matter how long you have been divorced, as long as your first spouse is still living you can not re-marry without it being adultry. Now, if you conservatives want to take the religion out of marriage (and technically it stopped being a religious matter the day you had to ask the government permission to marry someone by purchasing a marriage license) and let the states handle it, just say so. Otherwise it is adultry to re-marry while your spouse is still alive.
Bill and Hillary are not divorced, and though I don't think much of their way of living a married life, I do respect anyone who can work through their difficulties and stay married. It is not always easy for some folks to do that, and I know I am very blessed to be in a happy & faithful marriage for 30 years. I am one of the folks that thinks divorce should be allowed only in the case of physical abuse. And even then you don't get the green light to run down to the courthouse again. I don't care if you have been divorced for 50 years.
Put me down if you like, but before you do make that call to Pat Robertson or Billy Graham - see what their definition of Marriage and adultry are. I sure can't find anyplace in my New Testament that says it is ok tolive like that. Maybe the repugnants are now trying to rewrite the New Testament like they are trying to rewrite the constitution?

It's sad that with as many important issues that there are out there, that all the dirt on Fred is:
1) He's lazy - what a 5th grade thing to say. You don't have to prove it, can't show what you mean. Just a mudball to throw with no way to prove or disprove it. He's not on the welfare roles, ever. That's better than many.
2) His wife is pretty - What a load. A trophy? Helps run his campain? Try saying something meaningful. And U.B. your right, divorce is too easy. But we don't all live in your narrow little world.
3) He was/is a lobbyist - what ex-politico isn't? At least he was supporting his family, again not on welfare.
4) He has exBush people - any active Republicans that aren't is wheelchairs have been around one Bush or the other.
5) Well that's about it for 90% of the dirt on Fred. I would go into the dirt on Hillery, but for lack of space I will give her good points.
