He is right on Eminent domain. If the goverment wants my property, it's going to come with a wad of cash that would choke a dinosaur and if they really want it badly, they are going to bleed to take it away from me. Goverment should really stay out of the real estate business, does nothing but get good people seriously pissed off.

jerry/corpus christi texas, he is right, but congress is the govering body that is responsible for Legislation, so this should not be a presidental issue. The Supreme court has decided that states have the right or responibilty to decide Eminent domain issues. Seems like we ask to much of a president. Their platform should be one that informs us on how they will act as commander in Chief. We do not need a president of the Congress. Contact your local state representives about Eminent domain and as you know governor zoolander perry has done nothing but stall Eminent domain reform in Texas.

Sure is a shame that Lamar Alexander and Bill Frist did not feel the same way regarding eminent domain - then maybe we would not have state and local governments rushing around trying to undo the federal nightmare those guys voted for (along with the other repugnant minions).
The only time the government should be allowed to take away property is if the landlord can not take proper care of the property - at least enough so others don't get harmed by the property's lack of care and disfunction. I never cared for Zoning much myself- just another way for small business owners to do what they want and deprive hard working citizens from handing the property down to their children.
It is mine, I paid for it, as long as I am not doing anything illegal on it (murder, child abuse, growing the state's #1 cash crop)it is no one's business what I do in my own home (kitchen, living room, and bedroom included).
Since Fred is such a bush fan maybe he can get shrub to change his opinon of eminent domain and leave us all alone. Now, that would be nice and a brownie point for Fred.

TEC-SPRING is correct. It is a state issue and they have control over how to proceed with eminent domain. It's nothing wrong with POTUS candidates giving opinions but it is not their place to promote those opinions as law they intend to inact or push.

This kind of post is exactly what is needed. Candidates talking about issues, not he said/she said cat fights. I WANT to know how a candidate feels about eminent domain. Glad Fred weighed in.
When you finish reading that post, read his one on State's rights (federalism). Like Fred or not, this is the thing we all should want to hear from all candidates, thoughtful insight into their positions on real issues. Not questions from a snowman or a woman on a sh1tter.

I think it was Barbara Boxer who said "That's like questioning the word of god" Of course that was based on the fact that it was the LIBERAL judges, and one dummy who voted to turn private property over to wealthier people.

Supreme Court nominee John Roberts - who is on track to become the next chief justice - told senators last week that Congress and state legislatures have the power to trump the decision, something the Republican-controlled House and Senate are working feverishly to do.

The House has already acted, passing a bill that would bar federal transportation funds from being used to make improvements on lands seized via eminent domain for private development.

A candidate for the President makes a serious observation and probably at one time read the comments to see the effect. Why even bother? Do you limp heads love to see your comments in print? What is it, dope? Barf.

Such trashy talk and dim witted response must be discouraging. I thank those who gave the proper discourse to show we are all not blathering air heads and give a little respect to the man who has to be trashed in order to get out the message.
