I, for one, don't believe for one minute that Senator Stevens was involved in this "bribery scandal." He simply isn't smart enough... If he were to do something stupid like accept bribes, he would get caug... Oh, wait, nevermind.

I, for one, strongly believe that that Senator Stevens was up to his elbows in this bribery scandal. Because he is such a moron, I must believe, however, that this is his first attempt given that he's never been caught before.

I think I'll send an e-mail to him via one of my internet tubes. I hope the tube on his end isn't too full of crap for my message to get through.

I don't think Stevens was directly involved. I think his crooked son, the repub president of the state senate did all the planning. They had the bills go to the oil company, so they could figure out how much cash to give to Stevens so he could pay the contractor. It must have looked fool-proof on paper. But, gee, the company couldn't trust Stevens to tell them the correct amount of the bribe so they had to look at the bills first. Can't trust a crook....

All the pundants have been saying, for the last year, that Stevens was a shoo-in for reelection next year, being so popular in repub Alaska. I think this may just about put the nail in his coffin. Watch for "retirement" in exchange for a drop in the investigation. Then watch for crazy Gravel to announce his bid for senate. Hopefully Alaska can find a middle ground and actually elect someone who isn't a crook (i.e. a republican) and also sane (a democrat not named Gravel).
