Considering that there are people who do not want health insurance, this will be for the one's that do want health insurance. I cannot believe there are that many gullible people in this country that think that raising taxes to provide health insurance is the answer. What happens if you don't want the health insurance? Should you pay extra taxes for something you don't want?

I have never met a human being who does not want health insurance. I have met quite a few who can not afford it, and I am not talking about those who drink beer and watch springer all day either. I am talking about the folks who work at the market where I buy my gas, the servers at every restaurant I have ever eaten in, and the daycare that keeps my grandchild. All of those hard working American Citizens would love to have health insurance but since they all make less than $10.00 per hour (and can not afford it)and their boss is exempt from contributing or helping obtain insurance for them they have no health insurance. If I could put a big tax on anyone making more than 100,000.00 per year and earmark it for health insurance for those industries I would do so. These are hard working American Citizens and they deserve healthcare and health insurance just like anyone else who works 40 + hours a week. That is why I am considered a big tipper when I eat out and give a nice little bonus to the childcare worker every year - they work hard and I recognize their contribution to our nation.

StevenBrenner - well have you met anyone who does not want health insurance? Have you met anyone who has come right out and said they do not want health insurance or health care for their children?
I have not - maybe your family is larger than mine (I have 11 aunts and uncles who all have children and grandchildren - they all want health insurance and healthcare). I work with over 20,000 people and everyone I know who works here is very happy to have health insurance and thankful there are enough of us on the rolls to make it less expensive. It is one of our benefits that keeps us here.
Maybe you don't have health insurance or healthcare or maybe you are employeed by one of the big evil industries - Insurance (the others are drug firms and oil companies), if so, then by all means state your case. Just don't think that folks are not interested in something because they can't afford it.
