What really bothers me about our system is that Gingrich could get into it 3 months before the Iowa caucus and possibly come away with a victory without having gone through the lengthy process of debates and everything the others have. Why? Because people remember his name. Wasn't he the guy...? That's big in the general election, but hopefully it won't be as big during the primary season when theoretically it is those who are really interested who vote.

On the positive side, Newt getting in the mix would thrill my right-wing relatives...haha.

I think it is still a toss up who will take the White House in the up-coming election. The Democrates promised a great deal when taking control of Congress and little has actually transpired. Politics as usual,... I think so, and the very reason why American voters have little faith in their (Dems) message. Lets put a republican in the White House and at least provide some balance. Gingrich would be an incredibly intellegent choise. Polically astute and plain spoken he'd be navigate the complex issues that face us and get something accomplished.
