Where is the freedom for our military that has been redeployed 2,3, and 4 times or more to a BS war? Where is the "freedom" for the families that have lost their loved ones or will have to support one who is horribly disfigured and/or disabled? Where is the "freedom" for any Iraqi that doesn't subscribe to the jihad of the insurgents or al-Queda? Where is the "freedom" in America where the justice department has been so fatally biased? Where are the "freedoms" granted by the Constitution to all the citizens of America that this regime has trampled on again and again. When I see the word "Freedom" labelled to anything anymore, I can almost bet it's another con being pushed by the most "un-American-pro-American" regime in the country - that of the Bush administration.

The Iraq spin zone

nothing good can come out of iraq, just more teenage bodies

The Iraq spin zone

'Lie to me and tell me everything is all right'
JONNY LANG "Lie To Me"

with apologies to Still Crazy

The Iraq spin zone

Bush says history will show that the war was worth it...yea...worth it for who? There are so many similarites between this War and the Vietnam's it's surreal. China is dependant today on Iran's oil deal of 70 billion dollars, Russia is against our foreign policy in the Middle East, in the beginning the Afganistan War involved Russia and the Afghanistan backed US fighters as opposing enemies like the South and North Vietnam's opposition to each other. We invaded Iran also as Bush explains to "free the people" as in Vietnam and secure a democractic-Vietnam or as today in Iraq for the same ideological reasons. North Vietnam and the communist party invaded South Vietnam (a regime) we supported much like today as in the 1990 feudal tribal wars of Afghanistan we created. Bush you really need to brush up on your history and get the facts quick before more American lives are lost. http://americanhistory.about.com/od/vietnam/Vietnam_War.htm.

The Iraq spin zone

End this madness in the mid-east. Let's face it, we are what once a president of ours called the "evil empire" not the Russians.
The Iraq spin zone

I would like to know if we found the infamous"WMD" that were given as a reason to go into this abyss.
And, what about the other reasons given to go off to the presidents war.
Just think. I feel for the soliders who have lost their life or had crippling injuries, they fought for their country, but unfortunately they too were lied to. Bush and Cheney (Satan) have duped this country and left America in chaos and at the bottom of the totem pole of respect around the world. We followed Bush into this war and helped to destabilize Iraq and now the people who live here are in great need of assistance. Were we right to wage such a devastationg war on Iraq? No one will truly know but we do know is that without assistance a great many people of Iraq will suffer. Were we foolhardy to believe that the U.S. could create a democratic arab country where few others exist? Yes we were! Were we naive to believe we could rebuild Iraq without the overwhelming support of neighborinng arab nations? Yes we were!

The question american people need to answer is quite simple, "Do we want our military to spend the next three to eight years in Iraq strenghtening their forces and ebuildig their country? Do we want to see service members in harms way until Iraq can stand on its own?". Will service members die during this 3 to eight year time frame? Yes, they will die but as the years drag on the numbers will decrease. Would rebuilding Iraq go faster with help from the many other countries from the United Nations or simply other arab nations? Yes most definitely, but we can't count on getting help from others. We can only depend on ourselves.

The American people must decide what price it is willing to pay to make Iraq whole again. Yes I sad it is the peoples decision because it is the governments job to carryout the will of the people.

Since President Bush likes making references to past conflicts lets discuss one more.

In the fleeting years of the 19th century the U.S. was at war with Spain. One of the less spectacular battles of that war occurred in the Phillipines where the occupying spanish forces were meager and easily dispatched by an overwhelming American military. With the spanish navy sunk and army defeated the American government decided the native Filipino people were not capable of running there own country so it emplaced a governing body of its own. Needless to say such actions brought about much anger and resentment from the local people. The very same freedom fighters that helped fight the spanish over the years and liberate their homeland turned into an insurgent force that wreaked terror throughout the islands. The insurgency lasted for almost 15 years. Initially the insurgency was very effective because they fought for what most Filipinos wanted at the time, to run their own country, but as the years dragged on and the U.S. demonstrated that its intentions were to absorb the phillipines into its territories and not just reign over it like the spaniards did. Resistance from the loca populace waned there by enraging the insurgents and causing them to turn on their own people. Without local support the insurgency eventually died out and the phillipines became part a U.S. territory until it was returned to the Filipino people many decades later.

The Iraq spin zone

"stay the course",isn't that what the captain of the Titanic said.

The Iraq spin zone

All those here speaking out against the war and against the Bush Administration will be labeled an enemy of freedom and a supporter of terrorism. The President now has powers above and beyond the Constitution to deal with you as he sees fit.

Like it or not, our soldiers will occupy Iraq until the Iraqi are "free" or until our economy collapses. Congress does not listen to you. Congress listens to the contractors.

The Iraq spin zone

Hey, you idiots that think this war in Iraq is accomplishing anything - PAY ATTENTION! THE INSURGENCY IS GROWING! The idiot in the White House got us into this. The percentage of American's that support the war is shrinking FAST. The surge should consist of Bush supporters. That way we can get rid of them, start saving billions of dollars each month, and get on to the business of developing a solution that works.

If the idiot Bush was in charge, we'd still be at war in Vietnam, trying to keep the communists out of California (domino theory). How this jackass could use Vietnam to justify continued war in Iraq is beyond me. It shows that he truly is insane.

The Iraq spin zone

Is there something in the water in Texas that saps people's intelligence? They have lied and intentionally manipulated all they could to grab and hold power and imposed a destructive and naive world-view on at least half of the voting public of this country. Add to this that they also have been completely incompetent in most of their (ab)use of this power, and most clearly in the execution of this divisive and futile war, and it becomes obvious that the first way to make things better is to get rid of Bush and his cabal. Alas, rather than Bush being made irrelevant by our election, it seems that the Congress, the Senate, and the American People are irrelevant. What a pitiful bunch of cowards, liars and criminals we have running this country. They dishonor all sapience, including themselves.

If we wanted to truly be good and responsible citizens of our planet, we would hold them accountable. We should be talking about impeachment and prosecution for war crimes and treason against our constitution. What right do we (did we ever) have to kill people to spread our ideology? And even if this were just through some natural law, when did our culture decide that ill-means are justified by good ends? Let's start doing the right thing, and show the world we are not of this ilk. First of all when something is passed throught the house the governor should not have the right to veto it but instead make sure it is followed through and done. The same goes for the president, once something is passed through the senate the president should not have the power to veto it but to make sure it is followed through with, being the poeple of this great nation has spoken. Bush run this country into the ground. We are so much weaker today compared to when he took office. Please ask God to help you see this and the reasons why.

Answer this simple question - If there was no connection between Iraq and Al Quaeda, why did we attack Iraq? The 9/11 Commission found no connection and, when pressed, the President admitted there was no connection. Yet he still tries to imply there was a connection today because he is a desparate pathetic little man. That was quite a "mistake", don't you think?

If we had recorded cellphone conversations and aerial visuals on mobile WMD labs in Iraq, did we stop looking? If we had absolute proof of their existence with pictures and all, don't you think we would have been able to follow their movement to Syria, Iran, or wherever those who defend the "big lie" think they went?

Since those days, evidence of selective intelligence and false intelligence have all been proven as attempts to sell the war to Congress and the American public. How are we supposed to feel about a president that lies?

Our national energy has been consumed by this unnecessary war. Meanwhile, our country decays for lack of attention. Our foreign debt is sky high and we are hated for the very arrogance and self-righteousness expressed in your message.

Here is a quote in response to the President's recent comparison of Iraq and post-WWII Germany and Japan. It's from CNN:
A historian quoted by President Bush to help argue that critics of the administration's Iraq policy echo those who questioned the U.S. effort to bring democracy to Japan after World War II angrily distanced himself from the president's remarks Thursday. "They [war supporters] keep on doing this," said MIT professor John Dower. "They keep on hitting it and hitting it and hitting it and it's always more and more implausible, strange and in a fantasy world. They're desperately groping for a historical analogy, and their uses of history are really perverse."

Our president created a real problem for the US where there wasn't one before. We will never recover our position in the world and the nightmare will go on forever until we admit that mistake.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Quit trying to pretend that this is somehow going to go away when we triumphantly enter Baghdad and are greeted by thousands of cheering Iraqis.

I don't like the Democratic candidates for President either. The only person I think speaks from the heart and is totally honest is Ron Paul. I don't agree with him on all the issues either, but I do think he is honest and right now, honesty is what gets my vote more than anything else.

The Iraq spin zone

Ole Ed,

Did it ever occur to you that you are sadly mistaken? Like the slowly thinning flock of sheep you are, you have blindly followed a lying, disrespectful group of profiteering people who have no regard for you, but have twisted all truth to represent something only weak minds still believe to be true. The majority of people believed at first that there was credence to what was being sold. After reading, and not listening to spin, using common sense, and not taking a party stand, the effort to sell this war was in the interest of oil people, and government, war-supply contractors. The majority of American people are not stupid, just the remaining few who like yourself, will go down without using the so-called freedom we talk about, to think, and act, out of defiance to this administration. The majority of people are correct. And no one should ever question their conviction or patriotism. You can't even consider that you, and the people you support are dead wrong.

The Iraq spin zone

To All you Demoncrats:
Let's call a spade a spade. You are really against Bush because he is a Republican. He got elected because there were votes for him than for the slop-jar turncoat who ran against him. You are all ticked-off because your "man" didn't win and you hate that and now you find all kinds of reasons why he's no good. You listen only to what the Demoncratic election machine tells you... mostly half truths and outright lies. You ALWAYS just pass over the good news in the media and look admiringly for the bad IF, IF it shows some sort of disrespect for our President. People like you will never admit that the things you hear are somewhat false and slamted by the people who write/speak them. Like dutiful sheep you follow the slime spewing, hate-filled political wannabes who have nothing good to say about themselves so they emphasize over criticize everyone else.
I have no doubt that our next president will be from the Demoncratic party. This is inevitable because of the slimey rhetoric they have been spreading as truth is eaten up and taken as fact by people who are still rampant and irritated that their "man" didn't win the last time around.
And, when the next president(a Demoncrat) gets seated in the White House his first four years in office will accomplish nothing except more problems for the US AND the entire world. And he will blame is ALL on the current administration, JUST LIKE CLINTON DID! The old reason will again be.. "We (the Demoncrats) didn't cause this mess.. do don't blame us if we can't fix it." Then the NEXT four years will be the same as the first four except then they will put the blame on the Republican Congress for not coming up with a good solution. JUST LIKE CLINTON DID!
Face it... Demoncrats are NOT doers, they are complainers and finger pointers who will find fault in everybody else and try to guide the reasons for their failures toward somebody else, ANYBODY else. They have been doing this for ages and the little new upcoming Demoncrats are too stupid to know this or even care about it.
Wise up people... those who complain the most ALWAYS do the worst. Get off the HATE BUSH BANDWAGON. Get yourself educated and look into history AND truthful current events. Make up your own minds. Don't fall in line behind the Demnoncrats putrid rhetoric. And for God's sake, quit repeating everything you hear because that seems the right thing to do. Remember, the media is filled with Demoncrats, so all you are going to hear from them is what they WANT you to believe...ANYTHING THAT WILL MAKE THEM LOOK BETTER. 'Nuff said
The Iraq spin zone

Republicans should be rooted out of our society much like the Communists were rooted out back in the 50s. No group has ever done such damage.
