The truth of the matter is many of these plans the candidates are putting out are being done privately (except for actually withdrawing the troops.)
You just can't publically announce every little contingency plan, political deals with neighboring countries etc. Thats just common sense. Is obama suggesting that he won't keep anything confidential and just blurt out everything to the american public and the world. He has to be kidding. There hasn't been one single administration in this country or in the world who has been 100% "transparent" as he puts it. You just can't be. Thats just how the world works.
Why isn't he being transparent about his campaign tactics and future strategies of how to win the presidency? Because if he does reveal it then his opponents will know his strategy and will use it against him.
Democrats don't give me the argument that "how dare you compare Iraq with a presidential campaign." It is much more similar than you think.

I think this guy has his head on strait. He is demonstrating his good judgment. I find it IRONIC that that people think HRC will be the best choice to end the war when she voted to authorize it to begin with.

I think that the pole number that say he is behind are skewed by the sample that they are using. I have never been poled and Come Hillary or High Water I am voting for OBAMA!!!

1) Redeploy the troops with a timetable.
That's redeploy, not bring home. Redeploy.

2) Diplomacy & keep the neighbors happy.
He wants a surge too. Maybe the neighbors want a piece of real estate. Turkey gets the north, Iran gets the east. Kuwait could triple with a piece of the south.

3)Dramatically increase assistance to 2,000,000 Iraqi's.
Welfare for 2 million Iraqi's.

4)Dramatically increase assistance to 2,000,000 misc. arabs.
Welfare for 2 million Syrian, Egyptions, Leboneese.

5) Expidite 7000 Iraqi asylum requests.
If they are friendly, and will die for their involvement with us(U.S.) then OK. But you know they don't have jobs so.. Welfare now 4,007,000.00

6) Appeal to coalition countries to open up for more refugees.
Welfare, but someone elses dollar. Same coalition countries we are telling to get out now, before we do...

7) Ensure the military & financial assistance is not being diverted.
How? Going to issue barcodes & RFID chips? But he wants to continue military & financial assistance.(BushLite?)

8) Make clear we are going to hold 'them' responsible.
Were not responsible, You are. Are not, You are. No, you are, and were taking you to Judge Judy, so there...

Obama's statement shows that his judgement is impecable when it comes to foreign policy compare to HRC. The more i listen to him the more i think he's fit to be Commander in Chief.

Obama certainly offers a better plan than just advocating for cutting off funds. It's one things to just complain about the conditions and what's not working it's another thing to actually articulate a reasonable plan in order to move a solution forward.

let us refine our focus to the us casualities, some of whom weren't old enough to vote when this fiasco started. how is it that a 19 yr. old from states can die in a war 5 yr on and we still haven't got enough iraqi troops to quell their own internal war? if we can train our own to die that quick why can't iraq and in the beginning wasn't the focus to train iraq to defend themselves? also why do we have 170,000 troops there with the supposedly trained 250,000 iraqi police and troops? when did any general say i need 420,000 troops to finish this? is it because we failed our training under bush watch or they don't want to fight? personally i have advocated an "exchange and extract our troops from iraq" policy to set a cieling for combined troops at 300,000 and withdraw our troops over that amount immediately and exchange the remaining on a one to one ratio for new iraqi troops as clear basic. easy to do and as a vet i could run this war better than these bozoos, but i could have run nam better than the fools who screwed us then too. only person with a real plan is biden but he suffers from foot and mouth disease.and for hillary the surge isn't working if casualities within the country are basically the same, pacifying one province with a overwhelming insertion of troops and them shifting to another location isn't working. let bush do what he did to us job, outsource the the defense to the iraqi's just like we've outsourced us jobs.

He has always shown good judgement and leadership on many fronts and good common sense. that is his radical new ideas the entrenched establishment like Hillary are so afraid of and don't want to change. They fear common sense.

I've been seeing a recent trend here among my navy buddies. Obama is making excellent progress, you know the polls are wrong when military personnel talk of voting for Obama. The same is true of my civilian friends, Hillary's boat is sinking and Obama's boat appears unsinkable. He wisely started this race at a comfortable pace and now his momentum is building. I've been a non-affiliate for 7 years, but thats going to change. Obama now has my vote.

What strikes me as most interesting about Obama's approach to foreign policy issues, including Iraq, is that it appears to be driven by pragmatism, not ideology. However, it is a "policy" which means that it contains American values to back it up. This is what a "policy" is as opposed to a strategy. I'm convinced that if the 8 points outlined above by Obama failed to bring results, he would have no problem switching to points that did...

Thank you for clarifying what Obama really meant. You must be a bitter Republican, based on your obvious, fervent disdain for Welfare. Shall we categorize ALL aid as Welfare? Ok, here goes:

The Bush tax cut for the wealthiest Americans: Welfare

ALL foreign aid to ANY country: Welfare

Our Most Favored Nation Status with China: Welfare for billions!!!

NAFTA, CAFTA and all others: Again, Welfare

Here's an idea: let's tax you at 100%, not give you any tax refunds, and take away any government service that you (probably unknowingly) take advantage of. That way you can claim that you are not on Welfare.

If I have made a mistake in my classifying you as a bitter Republican, then my only other choice is a hypocritical Clinton supporter. If you think that she would not provide aid of ANY kind to ANY country, then you need to remove the wool from your eyes. Doubtless, she would attack Obama before stating she would do the same thing, but that is to be expected at this point.
