They are apparently convinced that Thompson will be the Republican nominee and apparently want to start their usual campaign of lies and mud slinging early. This is just another reason why no self respecting Democrat would even think of voting for Clinton. Four more years of the kind of lies, distortions, and grand standing we have experienced under Bush and Bill Clinton before him, is something we do not need as a nation.

First off, Fred Thompson said no such things. Go read his statement. What he said was, he thought the Supreme Court had over reached in Roe vs. Wade and that this was a state issue, not a federal privacy issue. That is a very very diferent thing than overturning Roe. About half of the states have legislation that legalized abortion already, so this whole thing amount to a big nothing.

As for "Gay Rights", only a fool supports this legislation. So far, the bills passed have been used by "Gay Rights" advocates to jerk churches around for preaching from the pulpit that homosexuality is a sin, to sue parents of children who use phrases like "that's so gay" in a derogatory manner, etc. It has nothing to do with protecting homosexuals from actual descrimination and you well know it!

Thompson told the Nixon WH that the Watergate Committee was aware of the secret taping system (and consulted with them regularly) so they wouldn't be blind sided. He wrote the question "What did the President know and when did he know it?" not to imply guilt as normally assumed but in an attempt to provide cover for Nixon through plausible deniability. It backfired and had opposite the desired effect. The 'brilliant' lawyer screwed up. He's no hero and never has been.

I'm sorry, but my vote goes to the candidate who can offer substantive solutions to complex problems. The biggest problem we face is Iraq. All of the republican candidate skirt the issue of Iraq and it's the defining issue of 2008. Thompson offers nothing new here. How does that make him a winner?

No gay person sued a child for saying "That's so Gay." It was the school system that got nervous about it..just like how kids are being suspended for drawing questionable pictures, or for hugging their teachers. It is ridiculous, and needs to stop.

Where are all the moderates, from the Left and the Right? It is up to the folks who are capable of rational thought and of seeing all sides of the "Big Picture," to take back our country from the fanatics-- The one's who keep trying to legislate morality, even while a conflict such as in Iraq/Afghanistan rages on.

What happened to the idea that we are all Americans? You Right wing fanatics are really scary. Perhaps you feel emboldened to spew your vitriol through the anonymity of a computer screen. Either way, it is a sad state of affairs for this great country, especially if these folks believe in half of what they spew.

Transferred $370,000 from his senate campaign contributions to his son 's leadership PAC. His son took $178,000 of that as salary and expenses. Member of the Council on Foriegn Relations working toward the North American Union and the Amero. Divorced and remarried to a "girl" 25 years his joinor and 4 years younger than his daughter,there's our moral compass.
