I'm a Democrat and I like Edwards and I also like Obama, but if Clinton is the nominee I want someone to vote for and Fred Thompson is vastly superior to her and another round of the Clinton-Bush greed and fanaticism. The last time we elected an actor for President we got Reagan and, although I never voted for him, he wasn't half bad as a President. I think Thopson is a moderate in the same mold.

His so called experience is nothing compared to Reagan's - who was the governor of California before he became president. At least Hillary was in the white house for 8 years, is married to a former president, and has over 7 years under her belt as the junior senator from NY, with a great record of accomplishments, and with a proven record of working with the other side of the aisle. Thompson was a do-nothing senator from a backwoods state with no real record to rely on who is already more in the mold of Bush II divisive and incompetent. Other than that, he's got ZERO experience and in my book, is grossly unqualified to be president of any country. In fact, he's not even qualified to be president of the Sanjaya Malacar [of american idol] fan-club!

Pat, Huntington Station, NY - Your statement and blind hatred and support of the money grubbing Hillary is exactly why I wont vote for her. Neiher, I trust, will about 25% or more of normally Democratic voters, which is why her candidacy is not just doomed, it will do genuine arm to Democratic candidates accros the board. She is wrong on outsourcing, wrong on guest workers, wrong on H1-B visas, wrong on needed corporate controls. She is an insider and is completely out of touch with ordinary people. What she apparently is counting on are her feminist/pro-choice credentials, but you had better understand that jobs-jobs-jobs trump that and even Iraq - as the economy sours into 2008, her ignoring working people is going to cost her votes. Mine is already gone. By the time the general election rolls around, it will cost the Democratic party in general. At least Fred Thompson recognizes the danger of outsourcing and H1-B visas.
