Most of the former generals said it would take far more men than was being sent to do the job and this admin. did'nt listen. Now that they found a yes man, they now want the rest of us to listen to the general now! More hipocracy. Hannity today said it was a disgrace for anyone to smear this general, yet the republicans had no problem smearing Kerry who is also a decorated soldier. Any troop who goes to battle and takes fire from the enemy is a hero in my book, but the chickenhawks found no disgust in smearing him. More hipocracy as usual. Jerry, I have two family members who are in Iraq at this moment and for you to say that we would spit on them as they returned home is so naive and vicious. I only wish that they could come home from a terribly thought out war with no conceivable victory in sight, and no clear definition of success other than quelling sectarian violence that has continually plagued this region since the beginning of time. You sir are no American, you are only a republican, and yes there is a big difference. When you continue to support bad policy just because you are strapped to a banner and follow blindly (with out reservation) when your common sense should be telling you otherwise, you are no American. Jerry, just keep waving your Republican Banner while the rest of us wave our American flag.

'08 candidates on Petraeus, MoveOn

I LOVE MOVE ON and jerry inspires me to give yet ANOTHER donation. I loved the AD as much as I HATE the SHRUB. It does a dis-service to what this county is about. I can guarrantee two things: 1. Should any soldier speak out against the war after having served, the right wing attack machine will be all over them, (in fact I saw this on FOX last week). 2. Every vocal Republican that supports this war, most likely is cowering in a corner of their house afraid of the Al-Qaeda boogie man , not giving a second of though about serving their country and truly supporting this war. The extreme volume of support from the Right stems from their guilt of really not supporting this war with "their" lives. So, if you support this war and haven't served, shut up and go enlist, so that we can relieve these boy and girls from their 3rd and 4th tour. Rather,it is MOVEON and their leftist henchmen palling around with Syrian thugs,HEZBOLLAH ''freedom fighters'',and AL AQSAS killers who have done the most to betray the very ideal of the ''support''of our nations soldiers.
Todays POLITICO [a liberal-centrist political publication and news service of All Things Washington]. I am also retired from the military and am proud of my 21 years of honorable service. I was saddened by the remarks of MoveOn.org because nobody that wears the uniform of the U.S. should be verbally humiliated by anyone, however, after being in the military for over twenty years, I would like to say that you tend to say what your superiors want you to or else. No four star general is going to destroy his career by sidestepping his superiors. The Republicans are trying to get every ounce of political momemtum out of this. Have any of the Republican presidential Candidates ever spent any time in the military? This war has torn this country apart. It infuriates me when I hear people like Sean Hannity trying to act like a no it all on this war and he actually knows nothing about war. All he is trying to do is gain political points for his party. Seems funny to me that there is such an outrage by the Republicans to everything being said about Gen. Petraius, but never did I hear there outrage over comments by Republicans that denegrated the Military record of John Kerry. As I have said before, no one that puts their life on the line for this country should ever be humiliated, especially by people that have never spent a minute in the military, Republican or Democrat.

'08 candidates on Petraeus, MoveOn

Republicans,
Why don't you learn this is not a war by the Republicans but by Bush-Chaney who happen to be Repulicans. I think we are all falling victims to a political game to try and divide us. I am a military member. I've done the tours in Iraq. I know what it's like. Regardless of whether we want troops in or out of Iraq, we all want what we feel is best for our troops and most of all, our country. Democrats and Republicans aren't that different. Sometimes, we (and more improtantly the Congressmen) should recognize things that we have in common instead of focusing so intensely on our differences. Maybe then we can start creating cohesion as opposed to division! I personally believe that the war has been mismanaged. I think that Bush's idea for a democratic Iraq was irrational and failed years ago. I don't think we can or should define the political structure of that country. I've met a few General's in my life, and I can assure everyone that our military leaders are not lackeys of anyone. They know what they're doing when it comes to military affairs. I think the problem is that the Iraq situation is not a war or military affair. They're in a sense asking a General about a political problem. That's not his area of expertise. I believe that the military aspect of the war in Iraq is over, and we should pull out as soon as possible; but, being in the military I understand that a complete pullout would be detrimental to the security of the country. We've put ourselves in an impossible position. To be completely honest I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing our military can do to help the situation; so, we should begin a complete withdrawal. No one will be able to take over that country in our absence...We couldn't even do it. We should provide them economical support and in time, their country will strengthen.

'08 candidates on Petraeus, MoveOn

Wow the liberals and the far left in this country have officially gone off the deep end. By joining Harry Reid in trying to smear General Petraeus the radicals at Move On just shot themselves in the foot. It was only a matter of time before these fools imploded. The surrender movement has failed. The Democracts will spend much of their time in 08 trying , but failing, to distance themselves from it. After they are defeated then we can start the hard work of rebuilding a once great political party.

'08 candidates on Petraeus, MoveOn

I travel almost every week somewhere in the USA and occasionally Europe. Scares me away from the democratic party.
Everyday when I turn on the T.V, radio, or read a newspaper I find that Christianity is mocked and ridiculed. In many of the T.V shows you will see completely tasteless insults constantly aimed at the Christian Faith. We are force fed a system of Political Correctness that will not tolerate even a hint of a joke aimed at any other religion, race, sexual preference. However Christianity doesn't have that shield of protection that every other faith has. It seems the ACLU can take a comment that may be slightly irreverant towards their protected groups and turn it into multi-million dollar lawsuits. When Christian's are offended, discriminated against, or victimized. No one comes running out to help ensure that justice and equality will prevail and make hate crimes bills to protect them. The Taliban executes Christian converts. Many other places around the globe like Sudan have Arab militias that wipe out entire villages of Christians. To hear the ACLU insist we take down mangers at city hall, claim to be offended by someone saying Merry Christmas, Forcing the Ten Commandments out of our courts, then, the latest, is a lawsuit against our Military, that is Fighting to protect us from Terrorists, Al Qaida, Communism.

Good Wages to workers is Very Important in Michigan. Immigrants pose a threat to wages and our culture. Wages could increase if the government would tighten up on border security and slow the flow of foreign workers. And our nation would be more secure if we were more selective about who comes into our country. When the democrats ease up the pressure on Al Qaida by surrendering in Iraq, they will be able to regroup and follow our retreating troops back home to the U.S.A. Before this happens we have to make sure that they have not infiltered government jobs such as food inspectors, water supply, border security, policy makers even. We are going to be crushed (wages too) if we open the gates and allow unrestricted travel and immigration. Without having a clue into who is coming and going and getting lawsuits everytime we need to take a second look at someone who might have some ties to Al Qaida.

'08 candidates on Petraeus, MoveOn

Answers to (I wonder why?)

Its not imperialistic enouph.
Because he's on Bush's team.
Because their also insane.
They are white collar and don't sweat.
It helps big business.
Because they are bigots.
Because they are selfish.
Because they are rich and spoiled.

'08 candidates on Petraeus, MoveOn

Betrayus THE LAST GENERAL STANDADING.

<Blink>

Who is "Betrayus"?

And is he "standing" or "dading"?

You really need to be clearer in your thoughts, or lack there of.

'08 candidates on Petraeus, MoveOn

Well maybe we shoudn't concentrate on the General. I am a Republican and proud of it, but i acknowledge that there are other opinions out their besides mine and I try to keep my arguments civil and reasonable. This cowardly attack on a brave American soldier is despicable and is no way civil or reasonable. Moveon should be ashamed. If they wish to take an add against the President or certain politicians that would be understandable, but attacking the men who are overseas because they have a sense of duty to this nation, the chain of command, or just because they believe in what they are doing is immoral. General Petraeus deserves this nation's thanks and gratitude, not its scorn and hateful words. I accept your opinion on the war, even though i think it is wrong, but I no longer respect it or yourself when you attack the noblest and bravest members or society.

'08 candidates on Petraeus, MoveOn

All of you who think we will win in Iraq are fooling yourselves. There is no winning in Iraq. Just look at the 50 years of turmoil in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel. Add Lebanon, Boznia, and any other wasted nation you want to the list of countries that have cost us American lives and hundreds of Billions of dollars. Bush is a disgrace. I happen to agree with MoveOn.org. I also saw Donald Trump on Wolf Blitzer's show say "George Bush is the worst President in our history". I agree with Donald Trump. Bush is a disgrace. Bush should resign. If the Democrats had the votes, Bush would be impeached. Bush will be the most despised President in the last 60 years.
