Well, there goes the Bible Belt Fred. Guess that explains why you chose to ride around in those limos with Lori Morgan all night long, did not have to get up early on Sunday morning to make it to church.
Also explains why you think it is ok to have more than one living spouse. So you are a conservative, but be honest, you are not a Christian conservative and being from the south, you gotta know that makes a very big difference.

Sorry Jerry, Hillary's debate skills have been solid. Rudy, on the other hand, keeps screaming "9/11" at the top of his lungs. Example: What's your position on health care, Mr. Giuliani? 9/11! What about education? 9/11! Immigration? 9/11! I was mayor of New York during 9/11! I walked around Ground Zero and looked sad! That qualifies me! Please...

Rob -- Union Baby is referring to Thompson's divorce. He and his first wife Sarah split up during the early days of his political career. Newsweek did a piece on him last week, which I recommend. And Huckabee can't gain any ground because of one word: Electability. The Christian (cough) right is currently dysfunctional as a political machine and discouraged by broken promises. Huckabee might look good on paper, and he's not a bad debater, but the right's too freaked by Hillary to be able to coherently select a candidate who reflects their views. They're grabbing at anyone halfway decent who has name recognition.

I'm convinced the only hope for republican conservatives is Mitt Romney. Thompson can talk a bit, but he doesn't have any accomplishments for his time in government...can anyone name any? Romney doesn't just talk, he's accomplished as much or more than any candidate running, he's got conservative family values (no one can deny this after looking at his family), he's one of the only candidates who supports a constitutional ammendment to make sure marriage is only between a man and a woman, and the list goes on and on...

The left wing media and other republican candidates keep chanting the "flip-flop" mantra, but it simply isn't true. At least no more so than any other candidate. He's changed on one issue, and he admits it--abortion, but every issue that came to him as governor, he ruled on the side of life. He was NEVER pro-gay marriage, he was simply opposed to gay bashing. You can't find a quote from him in support of gay marriage. He is also the only republican candidate for president I know of that the Democratic party has specifically set up a site for chronicaling anything and everything they can get on him to twist and turn it any way they prefer. All the republican candidates get a pass when they change their mind on issues, but for some reason, people like to tag Mitt Romney as a flip flopper. I don't get it. The only reason he is not riding high in the polls is because he is a Mormon. If he doesn't get the Republican nomination, I am convinced it will be primarily because of bigotry. He's got conservative credentials, he's got the energy, he's got innovative and specific ideas on how to make this country better, and he's a proven performer.
