From NBC’s Andrew MertenGOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul touted his non-interventionist prescription for US foreign policy at Johns Hopkins’ School of Advanced International Studies in DC. There, he reiterated his opposition to the Iraq war -- which

Paul speaks on foreign conservative across the board than any of the Republican front-runners.

Ron Paul has done fine in fundraising, but hold off on any judgment until the third quarter numbers come out. He did fine in the Iowa straw poll, too, turning 2% poll numbers to a 9% showing in one week of campaigning.

Ron Paul has won or placed highly in numerous other less-noticed straw polls around the country. He has won polls in New Hampshire, Alabama, and Maryland with hundreds of grassroots Republican activists.

Ron Paul has also been drawing large crowds wherever he speaks, and has over 40,000 volunteers signed up in local Meetup groups nationwide. As his national name recognition rises, his poll numbers will too.

Ron Paul has the most upside of any candidate in the race.

Paul speaks on foreign insight into Ron Paul, his positions, and most importantly, the contents of his speech. I noticed that ABC news has an excellent piece on this event that actually provides quotes from Dr. Paul instead of these paraphrases, which I find, cloud the issues.

I would hope that an expanded piece be presented, given that this one does so little to expound upon the talk His policy of eliminating them is a non-starter and eliminates him as a serious canidate.

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

Thank you for covering this, MSNBC!

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

One reason I support Ron Paul is that he is not a member of the CFR (the Council on Foreign Relations). Since 1921, the CFR has sought to undermine our sovereignty and has succeeded. Now, I'm convinced he is the best candidate for president, while keeping the majority of American's priorities, rights, and best interests at heart. We've sacrificed enough under these "bought" politicians, the last 40 years. Today,I carrying a picture of my fireman friend who suddenly left 3 very young daughters on 911. I'm keeping it in my security guard shirt pocket enclosed in a copy of Dr. Ron Paul's pocket constitution. When I run into someone who's worthy to see the memorialized picture of my friend (and they usually don't have a magnetic flag on their shiney metal box to prove their patriotism) I take the picture out, tell his story, and put the picture back in the constitution saying, my friend certainly wouldn't have wanted this touched (constitution, bill of rights) at his expense. Ann Coulter still deserves to get the snot smacked out of her for what she said about my friend's wife (daughter of a Manhattan police sgt., and sister to a fireman and police officer.) And every other serviceman's family who suffered a loss that day. How can Sean Hannity have her on his stage tonite? They're not patriots. They're not even nationalists. They're neocon mouthpieces, and they're no better than muslim extremists. This crap has got to stop, and I mean yesterday.

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

You wrote, "he believes American intervention in the Middle East over the past 50 years was a “major participant” in fueling the attacks of six years ago."

It's not that he BELIEVES it from a hole in the sky. He is the only one with real courage and gets to the point! He isn't afraid to speak his mind, something every canidate is holding back. Even the Democrats are playing it safe, just like the Republicans. This guy is conservative where it counts and liberal as well, especailly since he is all about uniting everyone in this country. I'm sure he is the only canidate besides Hilary than can get support from both parties. I'm a Democrat, but hearing his views makes more sense to me than any canidate. Here's hoping everyone will folow my lead and not be loyal to their party; afterall that's what screwed everyone in the past 8 years. People who vote will elect him.
I want to speak to the voters about Dr. Paul. If you are a democrat and like what you hear, you can only truely support Ron's message by voting for him. This will mean voting in the republican primary. How do I do this? you ask. You simply make a trip to the local Board of Elections and change your party, either to republican or independent. This will take a few minutes to do, then come to the poll and vote. To the voters with the means , Ron needs a DVD made of critical speaches that can be given out to friends or family or co-workers, primarily people who vote or this DVD can be e-mailed and fwd to others or downloaded and burned to spread Ron's message. Everyone I know has e-mail or a DVD player. I 100 supporters of Dr. Paul did this the message will spead to places it wouldn't have ever reached. We can use technology for the good of mankind.

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

America needs Ron Paul as President. We need someone that is going to deal with issues here in the United States such as illegal immigration, and income taxes. He makes sense for our country, especially now. The Democrates in Congress just want to keep spending money we don't have to house illegals, and fund way too many social programs for illegals as well. We need to wake up America. One question I do have is why are we having debates in Spanish? We all know that if someone has become an American citizen they are required to speak english. Lets stop making it so darn easy for these illegals to live in our country please, lets protect our borders and stop invading other countries.

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

Got it.

It's our fault that the Fascistic Islamists kill innocent people--even ones that believe in them.

Ron Paul is a flake, and his supporters are flakes.

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

Ron Paul, is telling the truth; Not what everyone wants to hear, but we need to hear!

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

When you consider that the closet opinion to Dr. Paul's on the Iraq War is Barach Obama's, who said recently that we should be out by the end of 2008, it's obvious that Dr. Paul is the only committed Anti-War, Anti-Imperialism choice in this election. The problem with candidates like Obama is that they (he) are strongly pro-globalist, which so greatly threatens our national sovereignty, both economically and politically. We've seen the incredible job losses created by NAFTA and we know the corruption that exists within the U.N., so to continue in that direction makes no sense for our nation. I know there are many Democrat voters out there that want to see the war end, but what they seemingly can't admit is that their own party has betrayed them time and time again during the Bush (Neo-Con) era. The war could have been stopped if they had simply shown the same kind of courage that Dr. Paul did and will in the future. With that in mind, I am changing my voter affiliation to (gulp) the Republican party in hopes of electing Ron Paul and cleaning out the Neo-Cons. I've also come to the opinion that big government will always result in big tyranny, no matter how sweetly sold to the public. He is the only candidate that wants to improve the quality of life for American citizens, not only by changing our taxation, but by protecting our borders, and not invading other countries for the sake of power or in order to save face. I am ex-military, and I do believe in protecting our country, but right now we are NOT protecting it, it is being invaded everyday from Mexico, and our troops are elsewhere. I live in California, and I see these illegals and unfortunately have to deal with it on a daily basis. Hundreds of illegals coming from Mexico, who is protecting us from that? Believe me when I say we need protecting here, because not only are the Mexicans coming over the border by the hundreds everyday, I am certain there are others who are using the Mexican borders to gain access into our country. We need to address and fix the issues at home before we try to fix other countries. It was all about power, money, and oil. Wake up America, Do what is right for our Country, Vote for Ron Paul.

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

All I have to say... for every instance my voice is silenced, I will speak louder.

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

Ron Paul is a glimmer of hope for this country. He speaks in common sense terms and educates the masses about what they need to know. Thanks MSN for giving us a chance to be heard. The internet is giving the common man a chance to be respected.

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

Ron Paul will be the greatest president this country have ever had. They swear an oath to uphold the Constitution. Do you think Bush ("...constitution is a g-damn piece of paper") has done that?
Do you think the Republican candidates who continue to kiss Bush's ass will abide by the Constitution?
We are in an "illegal war" ...Congress must declare war not the ahem "decider". Bush is not a true Republican, if you don't think so, why has he increased our debt and dragged us into a war that has accomplished nothing positive?
How many 9/11 attackers were Iraqi ? How many were Saudi ? Why aren't we looking for "evil doers" in Saudi Arabia ? Is it because the Shieks are long time
dinner pals of Daddy Bush? HMMM.

Our country is in deep financial trouble...can you say "deficit" ? Tax and spend Democrats might have people's interests in mind but they can't do the math...passing the buck onto the next generation can only work so long. Besides Socialism has been tried in other countries... If you want to help the world,
spend YOUR time, and YOUR money on helping people.
Nothing wrong with a grass roots approach to helping people.

We need honesty to solve our problems, and some problems are best solved by leaving Government out
of the equation or minimizing their influence.
Do we really need to be the "World Police"? Why?
Is it to protect our "National interests?" That's code for oil folks - Blood for oil so Americans can keep their air conditioners running full blast hop in the Suv and shit on the rest of the world.

Do we really need to continue to send our sons and daughters to foreign lands to protect big business interests? Why do we spend so much on "defense" ?
Anybody ever think those expenditures have been audited? Do you think there's a vested interest in keeping those defense contracts flowing? I guess if you used to run Haliburton you'd like defense contracts wouldn't you?

Yet we accept Politics as dirty, shrug and eat another donut...great job America. If you think it won't get worse, it will...just keep voting in the same type of people...doesn't matter whether you vote Republican or Democrat either. Same shit, different day.

Who does that leave? If the media has it's way Hillary or one of the components of "Rudy McRomney".
That's not real choice, that's more of the same.

Ask yourself why is the media scared of Ron Paul?
Why hasn't Ron Paul become a household name, despite winning or placing high in the recent debates?
Why is supporting the Constitution, the very underpinning of this country somehow a bad thing?

Please take the time to research. I did. Like many of you I thought Ron Paul was just another stiff, my mistake, I believed the media. Then I did the research. I don't agree with Ron Paul on every issue.
So what? He's got the main points down and has a track record of voting for US and the Constitution.

He'll get my vote. Don't make the mistake of letting the media and big business make your decision for you, look where that got us in the last few elections!

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

On Youtube.com a fellow posted an old campaign ad from Eisenhower's re-election campaign of 1956 which showed a young fellow, enjoying a college football game and then quickly transforming him to a battlefield holding a walkie-talkie. The ad basically says "Aren't you glad you can urge your team to victory in the stands rather than on the battlefields of Korea?"

Should you also be reminded that it was Robert Dole himself who said during his vice-presidential debate with Walter Mondale that if we total up all the dead and wounder from all the "Democrat wars" over the past half-century it would run in the millions?

This idea about "sounding like a Democrat" shows how shallow politcal reporting is. If you had any sense of history (or study history for that matter) you would realize what Ron Paul is trying to do and that is to restore the traditional Republican policy of non-interventionism to a party that's been hijacked by ex-Democrats (Southern Burbons) and ex-Trotskiests (neocons) kicked out of the Democratic Party by the Progessive Republicans and the far-left (McGovernites) that took it over in 1972. It's a policy that served the country well under GOP Presidents like Harding, Coolidge and Hoover and will so again.

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

One thing that I've noticed after a couple of months of reading up on Dr. Paul and reading the various forums, is that his detractors rarely say anything of substance. It's almost always "he's wacko", "he's stupid", or something along those lines. I'm willing to listen to his detractors, if they would actually SAY something, other than engaging in preschool playground foolishness.

I'll tell you what's "whacko": even CONSIDERING a pre-emptive nuclear strike against ANY nation...period. Ron Paul was objecting on the House floor to Clinton's military interventions in Kosovo and other hot spots, he didn't sound like a Democrat. He fit right in with many Republicans arguing against the interventions. Today, many Republicans are embracing Bush's war with Democrats (belatedly) opposing it. But Ron has been a consistent defender of peace (through strength, nonintervention and free trade) since the 1970s and does not pick favorite wars based on what party is running them. Right or wrong, Ron's vision is based on principle, not politics, and that is why is he respected by almost everyone who is familiar with him.

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

I think it's funny that so many people denounce Ron Paul simply because he does what he says and says what he does. As if honesty in a politician is something unsavory, and that Americans *really* want a dishonest liar that will promise no nation building, responsible fiscal policy, and reduced government and do the exact opposite once he steps into office. The media today just disgusts me. I had family on the other side of the iron curtain in the 1980s in Warsaw and it's disturbing to see our media act more like Pravda than what it once was in the 1970s.

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

M. Let's wake up people and not let the mainstream media make our choices for us.

To those of you who think that this war is just, or that the people in the Middle East don't hate us because of our interventionalist self serving foreiegn policy, I have to ask when is the last time you visited the Middle East? How many days have you exchanged gunfire, or looks of total hatred with an Iraqi or an Afghan. It's very easy to blow off what all of the evidence and experts tell us. We constantly hear politicians clamor about the debt, but few are willing to tell the American people that not only can the debt not be paid down or off, but that under this fiat system the debt is irreversible and must continue to expand in order to expand the economy. The problem, of course, is that due to the way the system has been created that eventually the debt, which must be serviced, will begin to siphon off the ability of the economy to maintain growth. Since every single dollar, either physical or digital, are borrowed into existence and economic growth depends on the expansion of the money supply therefore when the debt is paid down the economy is equally constricted. It is a classic Catch 22.

Eventually, the economy can not keep pace with the massive and irreversible debt that creates the monetary system by government fiat. The viability of the system then reaches its maximum possible lifespan and collapses under the weight of debt. In recent years we have seen a very tell-tell sign that we have already reached the system’s practical lifespan; this is evident when the economy becomes assaulted by even minor changes, such as the recent minor raises in the interest rate. Such stress cracks will only continue to spread, deepen and become more frequent as the system begins to falter under the massive and eventually all-consuming debt load.

Everything we have not only our money, but our investments, our savings, our pensions, our 401ks, everything is totally built upon a fiat system and there has not been a fiat system in history that has not suffered eventual collapse causing untold hardship for entire populations. This time however, the population to be effected will be global.

In the fiat system, even taxation is not an issue since the system doesn’t depend on tax to raise revenue. In fact, in a Federal Reserve publication several years ago, it was clearly explained that the only purpose for the progressive income tax was to support the fiat system, for social control and the redistribution of wealth. In other words, we have handed our country over to a bunch of liars whose hands have been in the pockets of the corporate bankers for decades and used the system to their own political and authoritarian benefit, not to the benefit of the People.

We worry that our children and grandchildren will bear the burden of this debt, but it may well be that we will face the economic disaster long before our children are confronted with the issue.

Ron Paul is absolutely correct in calling for the dismantling of the Federal Reserve System and replacing our fiat monetary system with a Sound Monetary Specie. Although many think it impractical to do so, it is not as unrealistic as it may sound. We have been indoctrinated for decades by the fiat moguls that such a sound money system is no longer unattainable or viable, but when we view the alternative we should consider such a transition seriously.
Paul speaks on foreign affairs

The Only way your going to get the facts is to go online - NO ONE can trust This Media or polls that are purchased - they have been busted online DO the Research your self, and stop depending on a tv entertainment station to push you.

Paul speaks on foreign affairs

By the way ...We have raised 2.5 Mil. this month alone Reference USAdaily Oct. 31st.
