The candidates are going to Europe for lots of reasons. One may be that the Euro is increasingly being used as the currency of foreign exchange over the dollar. The economic policies of this Administration has the rest of the world worried about the eficacy of using the dollar. While the stock market fluctuates due to this credit crunch and huge budget deficits, the world, like most Americans, are sitting and waiting for the fool to relinquish his self-appointed crown.

Of COURSE the GOP has a minority problem. That's been inevitable ever since Nixon adopted his racially-tinged "Southern Strategy" in 1968. It has only accelerated in the last few years with racial profiling being justified as an anti-terrorism tool and the emergence of Tancredo, Steve King, and a bunch of talk show hosts basically blaming all of America's problems on people of color.

The GOP has more than a minority problem...they have a gender problem, a poor people problem...a sexual orientation problem, a young people problem, a religious problem, a constitution problem...shall I go on? They are haters..just like our good old friend Jerry here. They are haters with an "I've got mine" attitude or rather an "I deserve mine" attitude. And along with that attitude are the ideals they have on how to keep everyone else from getting theirs. The GOP values actually assume that some people are "more equal" than others and this is not just my rhetoric all you have to do is take a look at their policies and what they do every time they get a little power.

Good point !!
In the 90's, Gov. Pete 'White Power' Wilson (a former Nixon aid) used 'wedge issues' that were thinly veild attacks on Lations in California.
The Republicans paid for this in the following elections.
Unfortunately, we elected a Clinton-clone, Gray Davis who lost the recall election and the Latino vote.

Tom Tancredo advocates 'crimes against humanity' !!
This should make him popular in the Republican party
He advocates nuking Mecca, the Muslim holy city, if another terrorist attack occurs.

Why no outcry from his fellow Republicans ?
Why no condemnation from the Democratic contenders ?
If you listen to Tancredo, you'd think that 'Hate' really is a 'Republican family value'.

Rudy's London fund raiser raises red flags for me. Every time I've ever donated to a political candidate I've had to a affirm that I am legal US citizen, that I am giving the money of my own free will without expectation of favors, and that the money I am giving was not given to me by a thrid party.

An ex-patriot is, by definition, not a US citizen. Anyone have a good link to FEC law that covers this or have knowledge of the relevent statutes? The only way I can think this would be legal is if the people donating were dual citizens of the UK and the US. I know we don't recognize dual citizenship in the US. But maybe the UK will allow a person to hold a UK passport without renouncing prior ciizenship?
