Although Obama will still WIN Iowa, It is NOT a do or die Win for Obama. The media (initially) and his camp have always said that Edwards is formidable there (ONLY in IOWA) and Obama or Clinton could be second.
Seems Obamas plan has always been to engage in a long battle though FEB 5th & beyond. So what? Are you implying that one Hillary supporter each put one Hillary sign into the ground? And stop with the endorsement crap. It's about as meaningless as a "national" polls that talk to 1,400 of the possible 150 million voters. A few things in play behind the scene.

Rupert Murdoch, News Corp chairman arranged a fund raiser during last summer for Clinton. Here is a profile of him:

****************************** ********************
Rupert Murdoch, head of the world's largest media empire, has used his influential position to push an ideological agenda closely associated with U.S. neoconservatives. During the lead up to the U.S. invasion of and war in Iraq, the editors of Murdoch's 175 media holdings vociferously supported President George W. Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair's pro-war campaign. One British newspaper opined: "You have got to admit that Rupert Murdoch is one canny press tycoon because he has an unerring ability to choose editors across the world who think just like him. How else can we explain the extraordinary unity of thought in his newspaper empire about the need to make war on Iraq? After an exhaustive survey of the highest-selling and most influential papers across the world owned by Murdoch's News Corporation, it is clear that all are singing from the same hymn sheet. Some are bellicose baritone soloists who relish the fight. Some prefer a less strident, if more subtle, role in the chorus. But none, whether fortissimo or pianissimo, has dared to croon the anti-war tune. Their master's voice has never been questioned" (Guardian, February 17, 2003).

Said Murdoch of the war, "The greatest thing to come out of this for the world economy, if you could put it that way, would be $20 a barrel for oil. That's bigger than any tax cut in any country" (Guardian, February 11, 2003).

Columbia Journalism Review: 'Murdoch uses his diverse holdings ... to promote his own financial interests at the expense of real news gathering, legal and regulatory rules, and journalistic ethics. He wields his media as instruments of influence with politicians who can aid him, and savages his competitors in his news columns. If ever someone demonstrated the dangers of mass power being concentrated in few hands, it would be Murdoch.'"

****************************************************

This neocon probably knows that people will switch to democrats this time but he needs someone to continue Bush's policy and choose Hillary as his candidate.
Obama first in IA staff, but not endorsements

The second aspect is the extreme influence and control of Jews in US financial and media landscape. They want the current failed US foreign policy to continue in middle east and in other muslim countries. The want to maintain a broken relationship between western and Islamic world.

If you observe Senator Joe Lieberman, you will find evidence. Senator Lieberman, a jew, is THE strongest supporter of Iraq war outside Republican party. He was defeated by Ned Lamont in CT senate democratic primary. Yet he was able to get elected as an independent defeating democratic nominee. I don't believe he supports this war to protect US interest in middle east but to protect Israel's interest. If this war continues for another 10 years and one senator continue supporting this war, it will be Senator Lieberman. Last week in senate, who sponsored the bill to declare Iran's Republican Guard a terrorist organization (a ground work for invasion in Iran). Senator Lieberman. Now out of all Democratic presidential candidate, who supported that Bill? Hillary Clinton. So again, Jews can influence and have been influencing US foreign policy through the power of money and media. They find Clinton as the politician who will serve their purpose as good as Bush-Cheney administration. When Senator Obama talks about a fundamental change in US foreign policy, when he envision a world free from nuclear weapons, when he propose to win hearts and minds of Islamic world by diplocamy and understandings, I believe it stands against Jewish agenda of middle east. So they are using the power of money and media to stand against Obama. I don't think it has much to do with Chuck Todd or Chris Mathews or Wolf Blitzer. These decisions have been made well above them and they are just executing the missions. So again, these are not happening by incidence but a well planned strategy is in place here.

What need to happen now is American people need to do their homework, do their own research instead of relying on these media outlet with a dark mission and become the ultimate decider of the outcome of this election. In order for democracy to work, we need a responsible media and enlightened electorate. In the absence of a responsible MSM, it' even much more on electorate's own judgment and understanding. It's a difficult task for Obama campaign but not impossible.
Obama first in IA staff, but not endorsements

I see where Senator Biden is doing a lot of grassroots campaigning. He doesn't care if his message goes to a diner for lunch, a person's living room for snacks, and just a sit down at a party he attended with about 12 people. I'm sure the voters look at this in a way that makes him accessible to the average worker. I like him, have always liked him and I'm also proud of the adverts he has there. Why not quit the beauty contest and go for the best man for the job?

Obama first in IA staff, but not endorsements

Not only did the H Clinton campaign plaster signs on ppl property without their permission, they also placed them on peoples cars at a campaign rally. Hillary Clinton has the wrong kind of experience to lead this great Republic.
2. Hillary Clinton lacks the right judgment to be president of the free world. For example she voted for the Iraq war. (Hillary authorized the war and argued on a senate floor that her vote was based on her "experience" in the Whitehouse)
3. Hillary Clinton is a candidate for the big corporations and not the American people
4. Hillary Clinton is a faux agent of change and lacks integrity (She gives a sense of business as usual, DLC corporatist and concealment. (Remember: she said in Chicago that we shouldn’t always say what we think...also remember the GQ magazine story that her campaign pushed to kill?)
5. Hillary Clinton believes that it is naïve and irresponsible to be willing to talk to our adversaries. So does this make the Great Ronald Reagan or the Great President stupid for talking with the Soviets (Remember: If you wish to make a man your enemy, tell him simply, "You are wrong." This method works every time, and if you want to make peace, you don't talk to your friends. You talk to your enemies" - Moshey Dayan.
6. Hillary Clinton will not end the war in Iraq. Remember she has refused to apologize for her vote or even call it a mistake. Just imagine what she will do as President.
7. A vote for Hillary Clinton will be a vote for the lesser of the two evils come November of 2008. (That is Republicans Vs Democrats) You don’t want that in your conscience when you have a choice now to vote for Barack Obama as the Democratic Nominee
8. Hillary Clinton takes money from lobbyists and PAC and has refused to stop taking money from lobbyist when her rivals like John Edwards and Barack Obama do not.
9. Hillary Clinton clearly failed to pass a universal health care bill and she is bound to fail again.
10. Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton...th at’s not change...Some things got to change! Biden's success in tallying support from the statehouse is due largely...."

Just once I'd like it if you would provide support for your comments. If the reasons you attributed to Biden's 10 endorsements were accurate, why have endorsements continued, and not been early endorsements. If they were a result of years of close relationships, and the fact that he helped candidates fund raise last summer (06)these ten endorsements would not have been spread out over the last 6 months, but would have been early endorsements. But the 10th one was within the last 10 days.

One reason Biden continues to pick up legislative endorsements is because the local legislators know the race is wide open.(why else endorse in late September) What is more interesting than Biden being tied for second in endorsements is that he's the only candidate to have received any endorsements in August and September. Clinton and Obama have not received any additional endorsements since July, despite the media depicting her as inevitable.

An even bigger story is the pressure Bill Clinton has put on local politicians to endorse Hillary. Richard Wolffe writes about it on Newsweek's website in an honest but damaging article about the presure Bill has applied to Iowa officials to endorse Hillary. Given there is not one member of the Democratic House or Senate who hasn't been asked by Bill several times in person, or by phone, to support Hillary, the fact that 20 of them have endorsed Biden or Obama makes their endorsements that much more remarkable.

"Of course, the signs aren't meaningless either."

Actually they are. How stupid do you think Iowans are, gee I was going to vote for candidate A, but B has more signs, or bigger signs, so I'll vote for B! Sign's don't vote, more importantly a big story was never reported regarding Hillary's signs in Indianola for the Harkin's steak fry. Most of Hillary's signs were placed on public property (Highway right of way land, etc., which violates most local ordinances) However her campaign also put signs all over the place on private property without the owners permission. That would be bad enough, however some of her staff apparently lack any common sense, they actually put large Clinton signs at numerous churches on a Sunday! Not only does this violate the law. More than one Minister and members of congregations were upset to arrive at their place of worship to find church property (the land not the building) with numerous Clinton signs. Several Churches contacted the police/sheriff prompting the local sheriff to go to ball field to find a Clinton campaign representative. They were ordered to immediately take any sign they placed on church property, and informed that they had violated the law by placing political signs on Church property, and angered a lot of people.

Obama first in IA staff, but not endorsements

Finally, you've focused on the real election taking place - Iowa ground organization. National polls, flag lapel pins, endorsements by George McGovern, etc. are nothing compared to the organization Obama has established in Iowa. And, as you note, it's only going to get larger. Obama is going to win Iowa and will take that victory to New Hampshire, then South Carolina and Nevada which will propel him to Feb. 5. I can say that here in Denver, Obama has a paid staff and has already held large caucus organizational meetings with hundreds of supporters. We'll be ready to ride the Iowa momentum to a win in Colorado. Keep your eye on the real race -- the Iowa ground game.

Obama first in IA staff, but not endorsements

I agree with most of the proceeding comments.
