That is exactly what a person of any faith shud request. Praying that we will be blessed and guided into making the right choices. Not like a certain current president right now who seems to be hearing voices from somewhere telling him to bring fear into the hearts of fellow Americans. Thank you B Obama for that candor. While some right now are relishing in the divisiveness, I am sick of family dynasties that have wrought hell on the poor/middle classes of this country.
Another candidate(no name mentioned) brings forth the most negative of feelings in us all. All one needs to do is look across the blog world to see how this candidate makes the Dems spend their time defending her(just like in the 90's) and can hardly see the thru the fog. The Dem party have wasted so much time and energy defending this family. Yet, the status quo remains.
TURN THE PAGE,indeed
Obama08

Obama emphasizes faith in S.C.

now my we finally have an end to those either through mere error or intentional misleading, that claim obama is not a Christian. [So much for the ''support ''of our ''troops''. The Navys ships while in-port and their BLUE ANGELS have been a portion of wholesome family and community entertainment since the late-1940s. Millions of Americans have walked the decks of their ships, and witnessed their exciting air shows. Thousands of these sailors and Marines have recently served in Iraq and the Arabian Sea].
The critics opted for entertainment of a more dubious ''family value''. Instead, they took their kids to the Folsom St. S&M street fair where gay men engaged in open, public, anal and oral sex, masturbation, nudity and leather-clad ''barebacking''skits, despite the near-absence of any warnings that unsafe sex could lead to HIV/AIDS which disproportionately affects this community. Even mainstream gays were aghast at allowing children to witness what ''is supposed to be a private act'',said one gay man.''Where were the cops''? asked another. Others critiqued the ''fair''for giving the ''phobes''more ammo and deplored a city where this crap was wide open and allowed, but the sight of a uniformed soldier or sailor caused apoplexy among the cities liberal denizens.

Also see: The Bay Guardian [Frisco-based GLTB News and events magazine] www.bayguardian.com

Obama emphasizes faith in S.C.

"Stories like the first poster who had to leave her church after 45 years because she suddenly became an object of scorn because she was a democrat is heartbreaking.
diane (Sent Sunday, October 07, 2007 11:48 PM)"

Ever hear of the Southern Baptist Convention?
Just before the Civil War started the question came up "should a man be barred from office in the Church if he supported slavery even though it was not against the laws of the land".
The question was whether the Baptist Church should put morality above legality, this split the Church even though 80% or more of its Southern members were against slavery.
Guess which Party promoted slavery and hoped to spread the institution of slavery into the western territories, the Democrats thats who.

Christians don't agree on every social issue automatically.

I for one have no problem with believing that Obama is sincere about his faith but that doesn't automatically make me agree with his politics.

There are plenty of fakers like Fred Phelps out there, we've run him and his crew out of Tennessee before.
Democrats like to point at fakers like Phelps and pretend that they are representative of "Fundementalist Christians", nothing would be futher from the truth.
You'll also see Democrats claiming that somehow or other the two major parties switched skins between the days of the Jim Crow laws and today. That won't wash either.

As for Abortion, if medically necessary so be it, but only if medically necessary. Its not like a boob job or tummy tuck, its the ending of a Human Life before it can begin.

As for Gay Marriage, why should anyone support redefining the institution of marriage to please a tiny fraction of a very small percentage of the population.
Civil Unions on the otherhand are purely secular and a matter of convenience which can be held separate from the type of physical relationship the parties chose to engage in. This might even be a useful method of avoiding the "marriage of convenience" and allow couples not interested in, (and perhaps not capable of due to age or illness), a sexual relationship to share expenses and help provide a home for children of a previous relationship.

Obama emphasizes faith in S.C.

The messages on this board both astonish me and confirm my suspicion that many people equate Christianity with Republicanism. As a liberal Christian like Mr. Obama, I want to say to you with this view: please, read the Gospels. You will find that Jesus is anything BUT a Republican.
Obama emphasizes faith in S.C.

The best bumper sticker I ever saw said "GOD IS TOO BIG FOR ANY POLITICAL PARTY".

Obama emphasizes faith in S.C.

What happened to...
