This follows the following reasoning: A) two boys were killed by a train. B) the train ran through Arkansas. C) Bill Clinton was governor of Arkansas. As an Independent, I couldn`t imagine voting for any Republican after what Bush has done to the country, especially Giuliani whose values appear more Democratic than Republican and therefore leads one to question his sincerity. Why would the Jewish organizations even want to support those with a platform to enforce Christian principles in the White House, principles that include the need for "perfecting?" the Jews?
Israel`s best hope is a president that stands for American constitutional principles, not some politician`s gloss on Christian or Mormom principles. As Lincoln said, none of us can know the mind of God but can only hope we are on his side.

It is obvious to me that the Democrat/progressive liberals will abandon Israel. I am a registered Independent,

You really want Obama after his comments on leaning towards the Islamics side in many cases such as Lebanon? They continue to give lip service to standing srong with Israel but the core left is against military action in the Mid-east. You watch what happens when Israel takes out the Iran nuke plant.
The left will be screaming to cut or halt aid to Israel and to increase dialogue with the Islamic facists.
Ron Paul will not be any help either. As a constitutionalist he will abide by it's requirements to war, which means the U.S. must be attacked directly.
Fred Thompson on the other hand is a Federalist up Abraham Lincolns idealistic frame of mind and has given every indication that although he respects and would generally follow the constitution, he realizes that we live in a far more dangerous world than our fathers. He has stated that he would use pre-emptive force if called for.
Take a good look at the man and his reasons for his stances. The last thing we need is a liberal/progessive in the White House
