Only Paul represents the principles of small government and fiscal responsibility; all the other Republicans will campaign on those slogans, while continuing the Bush pattern of the biggest, most incompetent, most corrupt, and most indebted government in the history of the world. I don't agree with Paul's bare-bones libertarianism, but I can at least respect his candor in representing a real conservative philosophy; Republicans who have any concern for the core principles of their party should be voting for Ron Paul.

Just imagine if the general election were to be Obama-Paul or Edwards-Paul; it would be a real and honest debate about policy, and not the war of meaningless slogans freak show a Clinton-Giuliani or Clinton-Romney race would be.

although I intend to vote for edwards I will say that the abortion issue has many people on opposite sides, since paul is running as a republican would an anti-abortion stance be a negative? I really don't know how mr. paul stands on this issue, really does not seem that important to me since the president can not change the law regarding abortion anyway, the congress would have to make that decision

I was under the impression congress write the laws and the supreme court interrupts and makes judgments concerning those laws, although the supreme court does routinely make judgments on how those laws are carried out which affects the abortion issue

Paul stance on abortion is that he thinks Roe should be overturned and that states should decide. Thats the way he is for just about every issue. Thats misleading though because he did vote for the "federal" "partial birth abortion" ban.

The only reason McCain is commenting on Romney at all (which the article above fails to mention) is because last week Romney made the statement that he was the only "REAL REPUBLICAN" in the race. Therefore, McCain wanted to stand up for himself and make some sense of it. McCain has the strongest platform of any of the Republican candidates. And he is continuing to show his strength daily....take a look at the New Hampshire speech he delivered on Saturday. Solid. Also, while Ron Paul has a few good fiscal ideas, his ideas on foreign policy are what concern me and his lack of experience does not make me comfortable with him as Commander-In-Chief. McCain has a life of military service, integrity, and leadership. He does not "spin" as these other politicians do....he is a true leader, and tells it like it is. McCain has served more than just one city in this great nation (i.e. Guiliani in New York) and he is one of the few candidates that truly outlines his plan of leadership for each issue of concern to the American people, rather than speaking in vague generalities. Take an honest look at these candidates....find out exactly what their plans are. Can you tell? McCain stands strong. He was ready for America in 2000 and he's ready again in 2008.

This article also fails to mention that the reason Romney voted in the Democratic Primaries in 1992 was because he did not want Clinton to get the nomination so he voted for the other guy to try to help beat Clinton.
