It's America's addiction to cheap stuff that got us into this mess, and I fear it is beyond repair without drastic/harsh measures. The time for a relatively easy fix was back in 1977, not 2007.

The following should be instituted immediately:

1) No illegal alien should be eligible for citizenship - ever.
2) Children born to non-citizens are not granted automatic citizenship - period.
3) Immediate deportation of confirmed illegal aliens without legal restraints. They should not be allowed to take advantage of our legal system.
4) Employers using illegal aliens for cheap labor should be fined $10,000 per employee per day. Don't make it cheaper to pay the fine then fix the problem.
5) FREE Health care should be legally denied to illegal aliens except in immediate life-threatening situations.

Do it, and it will work.

Thompson invokes 'sanctuary cities'

if socialized medicene will make us a socialist society, then we better get rid of the postal service, fire and police departments, and public schools. guess what, we all pay taxes so thee services will be offered to even the poorest citizens. why should health care be any different? no one should have to die because they can't afford the ever increasing medical costs. it should be a service offered to everyone. maybe some of the people who oppose this concept have plenty of money to make sure that niether they, or any member of their family die from a treatable illness, but unfortuantely, that's not the case for the majority of americans.

Thompson invokes 'sanctuary cities'

If Billary is our best betm we are in trouble. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals.
Enforce visa rules. Immigration officials must track visa holders and deport anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law. This is especially important when we recall that a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas.
No amnesty. Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That’s a lot of people to reward
for breaking our laws.
No welfare for illegal aliens. Americans have welcomed immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules. But taxpayers should not pay for illegal immigrants who use hospitals, clinics, schools, roads, and social services.
End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong.
Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair. But current reform proposals would allow up to 60 million more immigrants into our country, according to the Heritage Foundation. This is insanity. Legal immigrants from all countries should face the same rules and waiting periods.
http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/border-security-and-immigration-reform/

Now compare that to:
Rudy Giuliani:
-Allow immigrants to work, with tamper-proof ID cards. (May 2007)
-Supports Senate guest worker plan & path to citizenship. (Nov 2006)
-Giuliani has been criticized for embracing illegal immigration. Giuliani continued a policy of preventing city employees from contacting INS about immigration violations. He ordered city attorneys to defend this policy in federal court. Giuliani has also expressed doubt that the federal government can stop illegal immigration. In April 2006, Giuliani went on the record as favoring the US Senate's comprehensive immigration plan which includes a path to citizenship and a guest worker plan
Source: wikipedia.org Nov 7, 2006

Fred Thompson
The Washington Times.. "But on immigration, Mr. Thompson had several votes where he bucked the pack — and seemed to favor illegal aliens.

The most stark example was his 1995 vote on the welfare overhaul, when he voted to preserve illegal aliens' ability to receive federal benefits. Thompson voted to grant legal status to Nicaraguans and Cubans who had lived in the United States illegally since 1995, along with their spouses and minor unmarried children. The overall ten year impact of this legislation will be the addition of some 967,000 people to U.S. population.

Voted in 1996 to continue chain migration:
Sen. Thompson in 1996 voted against the Simpson Amendment to S.1664. It was a vote in favor of a chain migration system that has been the primary reason for annual immigration levels snowballing from less than 300,000 in 1965 to around a million. Sen. Thompson supported provisions that allow immigrants to send for their adult relatives. Then each of those relatives can send for their and their spouse’s adult relatives, creating a never-ending and ever-growing chain. The bi-partisan Barbara Jordan Commission recommended doing away with the adult relative categories (begun only in the 1950s) in order to lessen wage depression among lower-paid American workers. The Simpson Amendment attempted to carry out that recommendation. But Sen. Thompson helped kill the reform by voting with the 80-20 majority against the amendment. Sen. Thompson’s vote helped continue a level of immigration that the Census Bureau projects will result in a doubled U.S. population in the next century.

Voted in favor of chain migration in 1996:
Sen. Thompson voted in 1996 against the Feinstein Amendment to S.1664. The Feinstein Amendment would have reduced annual admission of spouses and minor children of citizens to 480,000 and significantly reduced annual limits other categories of chain migration such as parents of citizens and adult unmarried children of citizens. By voting against the Feinstein Amendment, Sen. Thompson voted in favor of a system of chain migration that has been the primary reason for annual immigration levels snowballing from less than 300,000 in 1965 to around a million today.

Voted to allow firms to lay off Americans to make room for foreign workers in 1998:
Before the Senate passed the H-1B doubling bill (S.1723), Sen. Thompson had an opportunity to vote for a measure requiring U.S. firms to check a box on a form attesting that they had first sought an American worker for the job. Sen. Thompson voted against that, joining those who said the requirement would give government too much authority over corporations’ right to hire whomever they please from whatever country.

In 1996, removed higher fines for businesses which hire illegal aliens:
Sen. Thompson, in committee consideration of S.1664 protected businesses from having to pay higher fines when they are caught hiring illegal aliens. Under the idea that current fines were not enough of a deterrent against businesses cutting their labor costs by hiring illegal aliens, the Senate immigration subcommittee approved higher fines.

Tried to kill voluntary pilot programs for workplace verification in 1996:
Sen. Thompson voted IN FAVOR of the Abraham Amendment to S.1664. He was part of a coalition of pro-business conservatives and liberal civil libertarians who tried to use the amendment to kill the establishment of voluntary pilot programs in high-immigration states. The programs were intended to assist employers in verifying whether people they had just hired had the legal right to work in this country.
...
Now all of the sudden he 'jumps on the bandwagon' to fight illegal immigration?
Too late to cover up piss-poor past voting record!

RON PAUL / TOM TANCREDO IN '08!

Thompson invokes 'sanctuary cities'

States rights should prevail since w has no intention of doing anything about this issue at all. It is not in his best interest to send all those farm workers in Crawford back across the boarder to Mexico, they might actually have to 1. pay someone a decent liveable wage with benefits, or 2. I am a foreign graduate student from Africa who recently completed a graduate degree in Mathematics. I am also gearing to commence my post-graduate studies in Applied Bio-statistics here in a few months. However, what is really deflating to me is that I am incurring huge application fees (so far $2200)to the DHS while I attempt to follow the rules for a changing my status from F-1 (student) Visa to Permanent Resident, and yet I read about all these high rhetoric about how this country cannot do without several million illegals, most of whom work menial jobs, and who also broke the law(s) to be here...and still continue to break the law(s) by working here illegally. And by the way, if you'd wanna know, I've been jobless for the last four months because I am still waiting for approval to take on a job -- any job. God bless the system!!!

Thompson invokes 'sanctuary cities'

I pray for a new america that will always protect religious and civil liberty. I pray homosexuality will not become the norm but seen for what it is - a threat to human existence. I pray church and state will never unite to take away our freedom to worship as we please. I pray freedom will not come to mean immorality as the new order of the day. I pray that godly men and women will occupy the seat of power not force morility on anyone but rather lead by example that many will follow and diginity would be returned to society through love rather than force. I pray that more and more Christians will start living godily lives that shows God as loving and just and opposed to the Church using its resources to try and usurpe civil authority.

I pray that America will one day recover its role as the nation that looks out for the good of freedom in all other nations. I pray that you the readier will find God and allow Him to transform you and I into more loving human beings to strive to do on to others as we would have them do to us. I pray that you will love God with all of your heart, mind and soul enough to commit to keeping all of His 10 Commandments including His Seventh Day Sabbath (sunset Friday to sunset Saturday).

I pray that we will all besaved that when this unfortunate world as come to its unglorious end we may meet in the world made new with Jesus to enjoy eternity with Jesus the Christ. I pray for the day when there will be no more political parties, national boundaries, religious differences, environmental problems, health crisises, and economic challenges. I pray for Jesus Christ's soon return and that we may not be fooled by the Anti-Christ.

God Bless Our World

Thompson invokes 'sanctuary cities'

There is no need to change thelaws. Our useless government
has to enforce the laws we already have.if the idiots in congress would stop fighting among themselves, maybe something would get done. They
were elected to run the country not their mouths.

Thompson invokes 'sanctuary cities'

There is no need to change thelaws. Our useless government
has to enforce the laws we already have.if the idiots in congress would stop fighting among themselves, maybe something would get done. They
were elected to run the country not their mouths.

Thompson invokes 'sanctuary cities'

BUSH IS SPENDING THIS COUNTRY INTO BANKRUPTCY WITH HIS IRAQ WAR AND PRIVATE ARMY. They only talk about closing the border, not about deportation.

Fred is right.

How about this for a simple solution to the 36 million illegals, whom we are subsidizing at $22,000 per year per illegal:
Why is it illegal for an American to find out from the Social Security Administration whether their OWN or their children’s Social Security Number is being used by someone else?

If all Americans could, as a preventive measure, periodically check their SSN, not just after they have discovered their credit has been ruined, they have been stuck with illegals bills, and taxes, and have lost some of their own SS benefits, then:

1. Americans could proactively protect their and their kids' credit and finances from identify theft.
2. Illegals would be quickly discovered, and could be prosecuted and deported by ICE.
3. Most of the alleged mistakes in the SSN database would soon be corrected.
4. There would be far fewer "mismatch" letters for business to deal with.
5. For those SSNs that are fictitious, SSA should be held accountable for advising ICE, again reducing the burden on business.

Why doesn't ICE get the mismatch info from SSA and go to the employers and start arresting the criminals? Because Repubs don't want it. They want cheap taxpayer subsidized labor for dishonest business. DIPs (Democratic Illegal Party, formerly the Democratic Party)are currying favor with Hispanic Americans and want as many hispanics here as possible to bolster their party numbers, a very racist plan.

Fred is one of only two candidates who says Americans still count. The other is Tancredo.

And this is from a 20 plus, precinct walking, phone banking, money raising Democrat, when they were Democrats. I want nothing more to do with them.

Do checkout stopnorthamericanunion.com. Judical Watch has sued Bush and obtained a Bush gov document that states that as Americans will resist North American integration, it has to be done in secret by "evolutionary stealth". There is an office in DC right now write the rules and regulations. Bush has agreed to completely open borders by 2010. Supposedly we are to be governed by a three man non elected commission.

Don't believe me? Check it out. Canadians are protesting. Americans have their heads in the sand. All the politicians, Repubs or DIPS, with the exception of a few, seem to be on board with this agenda. How else do you explain all polls showing 80-95% of Americans want our immigration laws enforce and deportation and our governement does zero?
Thompson invokes 'sanctuary cities'

Watch out for Bush's latest scam. He is revising the visa requirements in order to bring in legal immigrants since his amnesty provision failed. But he is removing the requirements for business to first adverstise and try and find an American or pay American wages.

In other words, he wants to have visa workers work under the same slave wage conditions illegals do, so dishonest business can reap a huge profit, Americans will be put out of work, wages will be depressed and unions busted.

And these visa will go not to just unskilled farm workers but for the jobs middle class and upper class Americans hold.

Thompson invokes 'sanctuary cities'

Unless we have a complete take over of our political system, we are screwed.
