This just goes to show how hypocritical and unprincipled the right-wing and (in particular) the NRA is/are.
Giulliani fully supported the Sullivan Laws in NYC, and as mentioned by First Read, took on gun manufacturers in the state of New York.
But, the GUN NUTS who Giulliani as Mayor once villified over the airwaves of a local radio station, will support him anyway....just so long as he has that "R" next to his name.
Not too many "principles" there.

I'd rather support a conservative and lose than support someone only because I think he can win. Truth is, Guiliani is Clinton-lite, and voters will either choose the real thing or stay home. Losing is bad enough. Losing by backing a candidate you don't even believe in in the first place has got to be much worse.
