Fred set the agenda for the debate which largely focused on the question of who is the authentic conservative in the race. Fred delivered a strong and Presidential performance. He started fast and never slowed down. He made a very strong case that he is the authentic conservative in this race, establishing that his credentials go all the way back to his reading of Barry Goldwater's The Conscience of a Conservative. He also pointed out on a number of occasions where his opponents' records fall short.

Fred was strong in his insistence that the Democrats want to lead the country in the wrong direction and he was also strong in demanding a return to first principles for the GOP.

Perhaps the best summary of his performance is in Fred's own words, "... if we stick to our basic principles, we'll win next November, but we've got to remember our first principles. The fact that what the Founding Fathers told us a long, long time ago, that our basic rights come from God not from government; that we have a system of divided government both state and local and state and federal level. We believe in free markets, we believe in free people. We believe in free enterprise and Americans who work hard and play by the rules, have a decent chance of living the American dreams just like I have and so many others have. ... Let's don't get diverted on to some single individual, whoever their nominee is. [Democrats are] going to lead us down the road to a comfortable mediocrity. and that's not the United States of America I grew up in."

Contribute to Fred: https://www.fred08.com/contribute.aspx?RefererID=c637caaa-315c-4b4c-9967-08d864cd0791

Last night's debate (R)

Ah Brad, Fred WHO? They operate through front groups like The Council on Foreign Relations....They don't want to lose their stranglehold and they see Ron Paul as a Major threat #1. Of course, they won't admit this publicly, but in their secret meetings they are plotting their next move. They must do something before they lose their power..... they thought they had this election neatly sewn up with the majority of candidates on both parties being C.F.R. puppets... they realize maybe they have overstacked the deck, now the deck looks phony and suspicious (it does) point this out to any person with half a brain and the C.F.R.. goose is cooked. Here is a brief description of the C.F.R. ..

The goals of the Council on Foreign Relations are best described by its very own members.

Bill Clinton's Georgetown mentor and CFR member Carroll Quigley says in his book Tragedy & Hope: "The Council on Foreign Relations is the American branch of a society which originated in England... (and) ...believes national boundaries should be obliterated and One World rule established."

Mr. Quigley is only different from Bill Clinton, George Bush and the rest of them in the fact that he thinks they shouldn't try to hide this any more.

These groups brag and laugh about how America's two-party system allows for both groups to be controlled at the highest level but still operate like bitter rivals.

As Quigley says, this gives the voters the chance to "throw the rascals out at any election without leading to any profound of extreme shifts in policy.".

Controlling Washington elite allowed private central banks to " dominate the political system... ...and economy of world as a whole" and implement a new system of "feudalist fashion" through "secret agreements". Although he believes the CFR's intentions should be more public, Quigley understands the average person doesn't understand feudalism or serfdom and will never read his book.

Allright, now that you know what the C.F.R. is up to here's a list of 2008 Presidential Candidates that are members of the Council on Foreign Relations:

Fred Thompson
Rudy Giuliani
John McCain
Mitt Romney
Jim Gilmore
Newt Gingrich

Hillary Clinton
Barack Obama
John Edwards
Joe Biden
Chris Dodd
Bill Richardson

Last night's debate (R)

Bunch of chicken shit chicken hawks scared shitless of a woman!

Last night's debate (R)

I enjoyed the debate. Only one will end our unconstitutional invasion of Afghanistan, Iraq, South Korea, and illegal military bases all over the world: RON PAUL. WAKE UP REPUBLICANS: Dr. Paul is the true conservative that will change our country's crash course with currency devaluation, loss of integrity, and a loss of national sovereignty. He will ensure constitutional liberty, meaningful and humane border security, completely user driven healthcare, and sensible trade without a national deficit. He is a balanced man with morals, a historic tack record of principles, and someone we should all look up to in a similar category as Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Abraham Lincoln.

As for FOX news (joke) and CNBC of your censorship of Ron Pauls winning poll numbers, you do your country a complete disservice. For this you will lose your conservative voice and audience. Your credibility has been spent with economic pandering, selective censorship, and a true lack of journalistic integrity. You have disgraced yourselves. You should be ashamed. Especially for stacking the audience, tainting your own poll, and silencing a true American hero. Out of complete freedom of conservative American choice I CHOOSE Dr.RON PAUL.

SAR-Illinois

Last night's debate (R)

ron paul is the only canddate in either party that stands out. stop being an empire and America first! george washington on leaving office warned us, "steer clear of foreign entanglements." boy did we stray far from that good advice!

Last night's debate (R)

Are any of the republicans posting on this site living in the same country I am? Wall Street may be doing better since Bush took office but main street is going downhill fast. He was intelligent and thoughtful in last night's debate as he always is.
Particularly his point about Senator Clinton wanting it both ways is correct. She wants to run as the most qualified but refuses to turn over pertinent information about her time as First Lady. Can't be both ways. All this talk about 'men ganging up on Hillary'? Ridiculous.

As the old saying goes if you can't take the heat keep out of the kitchen. Again wanting it both ways. Tough enough to be President but don't 'gang up' on her by making deliberate arguments that contridict or oppose her? Nonsense! Downright embarrassing as a woman frankly (and I am one!) She should be running on her character, experience and beliefs, not falling back on 'oh, poor Hillary, they are beating up on her'! BAH!!! Sickening.

I will be voting for Senator Obama.

Last night's debate (R)

The only way a Democrat is going to become President,is if they come together and quit putting down this great country and causing the deaths of the brave men and women fighting for their freedoms. And for the Drivers License for the illegals....it is a privlege to drive not an political guesture....Hillary Clinto should be ashamed of herself for even thinking that it may be ok to start with....and for everyone that thinks that she was being attacked.....I guarantee you....if she was to act like she did last night when some other country attacks our country.....WE ARE DOOMED.....This is the greatest country in the world and our elected officials are making us look like a joke.....Rep & Dem need to stop fighting like little kids and quit stealing our fellow americans lunch money and grow up. To be honest...maybe we need to start this whole thing over again with differant candidates...The ones we have right now have not grown up yet. I have served in 2 branchs of service and here we are listeing to men and women that has never spent as day in the service saying that we are losing the war...wake up...people die in war...more people are dying in this country every day by starvation,by illegals,drugs,etc....what have you done to help that...Answer: NOTHING
You all are to busy running for office. I believe that while you are an elected official serving our country, you should not be able to run for office...you are being paid to do a job....not being paid to run for office....Let's clean this mess up and quit stealing from the tax payers of this great nation.
