I'm so ready for the democrats to have the majority so things can get done again. It seems to me like the only things accomplished with an all Republican majority (president and both houses owned the branches for the first 4 years of Bush's term) were to approve wars paid for and fought by the poor and tax cuts for the wealthy. Bush was so concerned about our energy dependence that he saw fit to give business owners huge tax credits for buying Humvees!!! That guy is a genius.

Nobody is buying the republican scare tactics anymore. If argue that if you nominate Hillary you guarantee a republican president? You make that argument because she are scare that Hillary can't be beat by any candidates you have in your line up and you are right. STATISTICS SHOW that Hillary is drawing more people (over 50 % of republican and independents and even a third of republicans would vote for her if the election was held today) and more money to her campaign all the time and in polls matching her against Guiliani (the leading Republican candidate) her winning margin is almost 10% if an election was held today and that number has increased over the last 6 months, not decreased. And the argument that she's sounding more like Bush all the time is the most absurd thing I've heard. Republicans argued how different from the Clintons Bush would be and they were right...........it's MUCH WORSE. But now because Bush has grown increasingly unpopular you now argue that Hillary is too much like Bush to be elected in hopes of dragging her down in the toilet with him. You have to actually make up your mind before you can make an argument. Try to work past your talking points to actually substantiate your claims because the public percieves that REPUBLICAN = LIAR and they just aren't listening to your rhetoric anymore.

The republicans I've known who would be narrow-minded enough to call ALL democrats lazy are the ones who own businesses, sit on their fat asses while they work their employees to death, give them few or no benefits, little quality time away from work to be with their families, are stingy each year with their employees raises, stroke their own egos constantly about how brilliant they are to run a business so effeciently and forget about anyone who ever helped them get where they are. They are strictly worried about their pocketbook and themselves. How is that for generalization? The new commercials in Iowa are awful. Airy platitudes about "America is back!" do nothing but make Barak sound like a typical politician.

If he can't say what everyone is saying about how he is different than Hillary, and can't draw distinct differences with the Republican contenders who all are laying a path to war with Iran -- than he is not an honest or tough enough leader.

If can't inject some substance into his ads (heck, do a flip chart like Perot), than how can he say he has good ideas or enough experience.

If he can't describe how a knock-down drag out fight between Hillary and Guliani or Romney would be terrible for this country -- as opposed to an Obama vs. McCain or even Huckabee discussion...then he loses.

I am voting for him and donating to him no matter what, but I'd hate to see a couple things like this continue to slow his campaign.

I supported Dean and just a couple key mistakes like this thrashed his chances. Gore and Kerry lost for the simple reason that they couldn't sound like normal human beings. (BTW Barak sounds great in casual conversation but like a typical pol pretending to be a leader when he tries to "project" his words.

I just don't want to be disappointed again -- or see thousands of supporters let down again. Cripes, hire Donny Deutch of BigIdea or the Burger King commercial guys and you'd get better results.

I wish that the Primary system would be redone and that all states would vote o the same day in a "General Primary" and there crown both party nominees at the same time. Generally speaking, Iowa and New Hampshire are not a general consensus of the United States, and they are more conservative than most of the Democratic States. New Hampshire has only turned "Blue" in 2004 and Iowa went "Red" in 2004. Anyways...Vote Hillary. She is the one that can make history and rewrite it at the same time.

What ARE the Democrats thinking of? If Hillary Clinton is the nominee, the Republicans will win. I am a Democrat, and I, too, know almost no Democrats who like her or who will vote for her (I know exactly two). Everyone else I know has said the will not vote for her, and many of us plan to change our registrations to Independent if she gets the nomination. Why do the Dems have a death wish when it comes to nominating a candidate?

If you want to talk statistics & polls, then John Edwards is the one who consistently outperforms both Obama & Clinton when matched head to head against the Republicans. Even many Republicans that I know like Edwards and some would vote for him. Same with Independents.

Hillary Clinton simply cannot win the general election, no matter how much money she has behind her. And she is not Bill, and we will not get Bill as a co-president, despite wishful thinking, if she is elected.

HERE are the polls that really count:

"Quinnipiac has just released a new Florida general election poll and it looks VERY good for John Edwards.Not only is Edwards tied with Rudy Giuliani for the best favorable rating, he more than doubles Senator Clinton's average lead over the Republicans, and his average lead is 6 times that of Senator Obama's."

This polling data is not unique to Florida; time & time again Edwards, in poll after poll matching Dems against Repubs, beats both Clinton & Obama. Not only in this Quinnipiac poll, but in Survey USA & Rasmussen.

If the Dems want to win, they'd better pay attention to this set of data, and forget about how well Clinton does in Democrat-only polls. The general election is not just a Democratic voting event.

But, on the other hand, if they want to lose yet another general election, well they can vote the way the pundits tell them, and nominate Hillary. That will ensure another loss. I'm convinced the Dems have a death wish when it comes to nominating a presidential candidate.
