MSNBC- Just a thought for you. After hearing some discussion by two of Tuckers guests this evening acknowledge that the reporting of poll numbers have probably helped Hillary Clinton, I wonder-- Why do you report poll numbers? Why not let the American people decide without bias, and then you can report the election results. Isn't this inappropriate for journalists to report poll numbers if they know that they are influencing the American people who have no time to study elections closely and therefore, rely on your coverage.

I would be really curious to see the outcomes if the media would just stop the obsession with the poll numbers.

Senator Clinton continues to tout insignificant popularity polls as a sign of strength in a campaign that is more about the triangulation and divisiveness of the past than the future of America.

While Senator Clinton may be popular among Democrats, her astronomically high negatives nationwide, due in part to her huge 'baggage' and the kind of politics she's been associated with since the 90s, is a significant electability concern for Democrats who badly want to win in 2008.

Every time Americans think about the casualties of the Iraq war and the heavy price America is paying, they should remember that Senator Clinton wholeheartedly gave George Bush the authority to wage that war. The Iraq war is Hillary Clinton's war too. She can try to hide from it, but she can't run away from it.

Talk about polls, Ron in TX. Salon has a great article on them and one thing for sure. Though republicans will fall in line with the frontrunner of the polls, democrats do not. The polling is always way off with democrats. The polls are also rigged as some comments talk about how they won't let you vote for anyone but, Hillary.
More and more the evidence keeps pointing to the true fact that the queen may not get her coronation.

It's so ironic how no one crucifies the SEIU for supporting Obama. Infact they've been praising them to the heavens but if it was Hill, they'd have shot them down crucifying them as part of what they now term Washington Insiders.
Obama has no message than to pull down Clinton which makes me hate him (not just dislike). The day after it was reported that he lost the Q3 fund raiser to hill, his campaign sent me one of their mailings reading as title: Hillary's money.
Of all the problems confronting America, can he not find another campaign theme? His rattlings about changing politics is as fake as his ideas of uniting the country. He will be the worst President America would ever have but thank God, it will not happen. When he looses IOWA, New Hampshire, South Carolina, then he will not need wait till Super Tuesday to throw in the Towel. Hill 08! It's interesting that the endorsements keep coming inspite of the MSM hanging crepe on the Obama campaign. Iowa will add it's loud voice to counter the conventional (or better put, biased) wisdom.

Also interesting was Pat Buchanan's comment on MSNBC, this AM pointing out that Hillary had been 1 of the 29 Democratic senators (who form part of the coalition of sheep) who have aided and abetted this, the latest Bush/Cheney march to war. He also commented that Obama is not a part of this and that this is a major difference between the two leading Democratic candidates.

I would fully expect that if Pat Buchanan (admittedly no fan of this American exercise in imperialism in the Middle East), a Republican, is able to see a major distinction between Barack and Hillary, then the Democrats should be able to do the same. Do Democrats really want a standard bearer who is repeatedly manipulated by the cowboy and Darth? What does that say to her leadership ability?

And yes, we all know that Barack wasn't there to vote on the matter. But we also know that Harry Reid (whose son runs Hillary's Nevada campaign), announced the night before (when Obama was present), that the measure had been tabled indefinitely. It was on the next day, the vote was called hastily (knowing full well that Obama was already in NH) with 30 minutes notice. Where's the outrage, folks?

Barack immediately announced his opposition to the measure when he became aware of the duplicity which had prevented his ability to vote on the measure. The sad thing about this whole episode concerns the complex political scheming that went into this effort to provide a distracting cover for Hillary who knew her vote would provide for disturbance with the Democratic base and yet wanted this triangulating vote to position for the general election. Team Hillary also wanted to obstruct the chance for Barack to evidence leadership in opposing this vote. Villainous characters?: Hillary, Mark Penn et al. It's Bush/Rove all over again. Haven't we had enough?

I just finished watching NBC's
'Chris Matthew's Show' and the conclusion was that everything rests on Iowa. I truly believe that is the case and in Iowa, Barack has gradually increased his support from 19% to 24% (being only 5 pts. behind Hillary). The conclusion was that in the 9 weeks remaining, taking the lead is a serious potential.

David Gregory said that victory in Iowa would then have the potential to sling shot Obama to a victory in the NH primary (5 days later?) with the impact that this would have on the 45% of Granite State voters who are registered as 'undeclared'. I feel that doing well in these first two events will result in South Carolinians, feeling the big mo', voting their hearts and giving the Palmetto state to Barack. Dream scenario? Maybe but this is very plausible.

What wasn't said is what impact Edwards supporters could have in Iowa. My personal belief is that both Obama and Edwards supporters are vehemently anti-Hillary and that their co-operation could hand Hillary a resounding defeat (secondary to pragmatic horse trading during the caucuses).

The debates on Tuesday should be interesting. If Obama takes off the gloves, as he promises, Hillary's salad days with the MSM may be over. If he can define her obtuseness on Social Security, her hawkish, Bush-lite positions on the war and the question the ethics of her campaign, maybe the MSM will end this preposterous talk of coronation before the first primary vote has even been cast. Iowa is the show. All eyes on the Hawkeye State.
