I do not think Obama has the guts to be this candidate, but any change in that direction would be of paramount importance to the future of our children. Right now only Bush clones like Clinton, Romney and Giuliani are supposed to be frontrunners in the candidacy. That means 4 more years of neglecting our housing, our education, our health care etc. etc. only to spill trillions of dollars with protecting Israeli interests. America wake up before it is too late for our children. Bush and his clones destroy SCHIP and defend ISRAEL.

First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

Two sides to the Clinton diplomacy issue. One side what Giuliani is saying is exactly what Reagan did with the Iranian hostages, deliberately delaying release of the hostages until the day of his inauguration and keeping the Carter administration out of the loop to make himself look good. On the other hand if Clinton does not state some plan for improving the international situation she will be...and along with all the other Democrats already is being...attacked for not having a plan.

First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

Hillary R. The only reason he has been losing in the general polls is because no one is paying any attention yet, and hardly any positive news or even substantive news discussing his policies has been presented. There has been a huge bias on every channel, putting down the Edwards campaign, focusing on his haircuts, focusing on his wealth. So far the media has shown their ability to dumb us all down to where everything is a dumb story intend to speak right to the gut. 'Oh he makes money and wants to help the poor' he's a hypocrite. Please there are no more messiahs and in order to help the poor these days you need to have the resources to do so. 'But he gets expensive haircuts.' Let's pretend for a second that this matters the least bit, why don't we know how much Senator Clinton or Governor Romney pay for their haircuts, I guarantee you it is over $100 more likely $200. 'But it's a testament to his character.' No it's not. It’s a stupid talking point put forth by Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh to try and diminish his candidacy in they eyes of the common man. Why? The vast right-wing conspiracy now is Hillary, sorry Hill, it's the truth.

Corporate interests and the right-wing want Hillary because she turns out the Anti-Bill, semi-retarded values voters (as if bjs were at all important to American life and our status as a super power). It's not her fault, but it's true. For that reason Hillary Clinton is the GOPs only chance for a close race.

Edwards wipes all the GOP off the map in the head to heads. For that matter so does Obama. Right now Edwards and Obama are blocking each other in polling. All I have seen are pathetic subjective analyses of where their voters go as a second choice. I'll tell you this that virtually all Edwards voters would go Obama before Hillary, and to a lesser extent the opposite is true as well. That's why the Iowa caucus will once again knock off the presumptive nominee. The second and third place will band together and knock off ol Hillary or at least I hope Edwards and Obama are smart enough to do so. If they were we'd have Presidential dominance for 16 years Edwards first and then the inevitable victory of Vice President Obama in 2016. Please Hillary go away for the sake of the nation. We need a sure thing now. We need a new course.
First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

The fireworks don't lie in the presidential papers of George HW Bush, they're in the Reagan administration. The reality of Iran/Contra was about to come out and the GOP had to keep it swept under the rug. Ancient history? It would be if not for the fact that the party continues to try to be "the party of Reagan" and that many if not most of the perpetrators in Iran/Contra remain active within the party and in some cases hold or have held positions within the GWB administration.

First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

Dan G in Pepsi Cola, I'm going to take a long shot at this and assume that you are a big fan of Fox News ....give this I will share the last two Bush Poll Numbers from them...

Sept 11 - 12 , 2007 Bush Approval 37%
Oct 23 - 24, 2007 Bush Approval 35%

Not sure what poll number you're looking at amigo but Bush is SOS on the numbers ...same ol sh*t ... America needs to grow up. If Hillary wins, everyone will be happy to see Bill back, because that is the only reason that she will win. Everyone thinks Bill is going to save America. The people love Obama, but realisticly, this country will never elect a black man as president( the race factor will never go away), because the cowardness of the few that run this country; their mind sets will continue to rule forever stain this country. When man started interpreting Gods law for his own self cratfication, we were doomed from the start. Iraq is a loss cause, if the men of iraq continue to have their differences there will always be war within the country. We are held captive by our own power,or greatest weapon, freedom and democracy.Just like lines separate our states from states, America is a country devided against itself. The politians are not suffering, just the American people. From the Huricanes in Katrina, the water droughts of Georgia, and the fires in California. I guess nature is taking its course. The question is ? Whats next to come? And the truth shall set us free. May the Lord have Mercy on us all.

First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

Poll: Hillary Clinton's Face Still the Spookiest as Top-Selling Candidate Halloween Mask
Monday, October 29, 2007

First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

Hillary would only be acceptable in the white house as Obama's vice president.
Heinz Westermann, Seattle Wash. As much as you can't stand the republican party, not all americans feel the same. Dems will win the general by offering change- NOT THE CLINTONS.

The Clintons are NOT CHANGE!!!

Looking at a ticket between Guilliani, Romny, or Huckabee, or the CLINTONS, the average independant voter will vote for the new face on the scene, not a rewind to 10 years ago.

BUSH/CLINTON/BUSH/CLINTON IS NOT CHANGE!!!

Contrary to what alot of dems seem to think,

Dems CAN LOSE the general election.

And they may very well do just that if Hillary is nominated.

First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

Z. Hillary won't ride into the White House in 2009 because of anything she says or does. It will be because everyone will think back to life in the 1990s. Outside of the scandals in Washington, life for the average American was pretty decent. People think that voting for Hillary will give us those warm, fuzzy feelings all over again. It won't. I can even see it being worse, yes worse, than the last 8 with Dubya.

If she won't answer a single question in a debate posed by a reporter or an opponent, what makes you people seriously think she'll have the balls to stand up to our enemies or to the Republicans in Congress? (HINT: SHE DOESN'T!)

Look at her voting record. Instead of standing with her Democratic colleagues and actually trying to end the Iraq war and telling Dubya where to shove his cash requests, she gives him blank check after blank check. If she's about "change", she's had 6+ years in the Senate to get it going with either her vote or her opportunity to introduce legislation on the Senate floor. She's done neither.

Even now, she's given very few details of her own policy agenda if elected, instead choosing to consistently attack the details of what her two chief rivals would do. While their ideas aren't perfect, they're the very kind of starting point the country needs to begin moving in the right direction. We want positive government, not 4 more years of the garbage we, and the rest of the world, have had to endure.

First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

Ralph Baum, you are a big help --- not.
First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

jds and Lisa, why don't we wait til after Clinton is president to end the Bush/Clinton dynasty? (....and you know it.)
But, I see you like to attack a fellow liberal, and in particular A Liberal Democrat who supports Hillary.
Therefore, in the spirit of fair play let's ask a few questions about Obama that NEVER seem to get answered.
Like, why didn't he admit his relationship with Norman Hsu, instead of trying to let the media blame everything on Hillary?
Mr. Hsu's influence over Obama went far deeper. In 2005, he helped host a California fund-raiser for Mr. Obama, where he introduced the senator to Mark Gorenberg, a venture capitalist who is now one of Mr. Obama's biggest fund-raisers.
Oh, and how come we never hear about The Obama/Rezko Scandal?
The story is that Obama has ties to Rita Rezko, the wife of Tony Rezko, Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's former chief fundraiser. Tony Rezko has been indicted in a massive scandal involving giving government jobs and contracts to Blagojevich's contributors. Apparently, the Rezkos live in a mansion in the suburbs north of Chicago, but on the same day that Obama bought a $1.6 million house on the south side of Chicago, Rezko's wife bought the vacant lot next door. Then Obama bought 10 feet of the Rezko lot, and Obama has now been paying for the mowing of all of the Rezko lot, though he says that he has been meaning to divide the costs.
Hmmmmmmmm, interesting, huh?
.....and why won't Barrack Obama hold his hand over his heart while the "Star Spangled Banner" is played, or wear an American Flag on his lapel?
Could it be that Obama feels no love or patriotism for his country? It sure looks that way, doesn't it?

THE MORAL OF THIS STORY IS THAT IF YOU WANT TO PLAY "PERSONAL ATTACK" POLITICS...THERE'S MORE THAN ENOUGH MUD TO SLING RIGHT BACK AT YA'..........

First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

J. (Ha Ha Ha Ha)
But it doesn't seem to faze you a bit when a republiCANT money bundler like Alan Fabian (who's associated with BOTH The Romney, and Gigolo Rudy 'G' campaigns, by the way) is arrested and charged with 23 counts of money laundering, mail fraud, bankruptcy fraud, perjury and obstruction of justice.
THAT doesn't seem to bother you at all.
I guess "crime is okay if you're a republican" in jerry's mind.
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha

First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

All i can say the media has sold ethics responsibility.Sensational headlines are more important then issues affecting millions of life in this country? In fact, the issue has been worn out. Here is the point you are missing: this isn't a comparison of powder-puff football vs. the NFL. At this level, your gender is not nearly as important as you are hoping it is. Sure, there may be differences, but they are small and insignificant. If you seriously think her estrogen level will inform her foreign policy, you are sadly mistaken.

I have no doubt that there are those who are supporting her simply because she is a woman. I also have no doubt that there are those who oppose her simply because she is a woman. I do not think these people represent the majority of our society. Why is it that everything you post on this site has to do with her gender? It is never her policies, postitions, or viewpoints. It is her gender. Always.

First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

Sierra:

We all know San Francisco would be the new attack strategy for Al Qaeda:

They know you people don't like the Military......
They know is full of gay people.......
They know San Francisco is just full of weird people

They can can take out three birds with one stone....

And Merle:

You can go back and check the past posts, i have put the posts and links to it......

That story and the Peter Paul Story are the next challenges coming up for Hillary Clinton.

In fact the story here in Texas is so big, the leading democrat to take out John Cornyn out of the Senate here in Texas had to end his run due to the fallout from this case. So the GOP Senate seats should remain safe in Texas for quite some time. All the other big name democrats have the same problem here, so they will have to find some no name to run and he should be horsewhipped pretty easily.

First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

That's alright Sierra.......

Merle will have a lot of explaining to do once the
Mauricio Celis story goes national.........

First thoughts: Obama steps it up, again

It's neonazionists like Jerry and their lobby that has got our great country to the brim of destruction. Her's were hardly the most offensive comments made in this blog. (Read any of the jerry/corpus christi texas nonsense!)

What is wrong with factoring gender into a persons voting decision, especially when it finally breaks an artificial barrier for more than half the U.S. voting population? We have a unique opportunity in 2008 of eliminating the gender or race barrier in Presidential elections. In my view, Obama has a great deal of potential, but 2008 may be too soon for him personally. I'm not sure whether the drive and passion needed to win is there quite yet for Barack.

The same is not true for Hillary Clinton. I'm sure she is ready to assume the Presidency and confident she will not trash the freedoms so many Americans have given "their last full measure of devotion", but will protect it and embrace it. We need a President who will not permit Osama bin Ladin to "win" simply by ignoring or lessoning the freedoms we all share and took for granted before 9/11/2001. That is the Dubya weakness that badly needs replacing!
