The word Lobbyist has become a dirty name due to lobbyists like Abramoff there are lobbyists on capitol hill lobbying for the elderly, the poor and other good causes. I belong to the Fleet Reserve Association our National Executive Secretary is a lobbyist for the enlisted men and women in the sea services, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. He has no pot of money to give away but appeals to the patriotism of the members.

The spin goes on

I guess questioning Hillary is considered "piling-it-on." If she can't stand up to the pressures from her own party- how can she stand up to Ahmedinejad or Putin? Maybe she needs to invest in the politics of truth.
Stop the sobbing Hillary...whadya think...people would just hand you the nomination?

The spin goes on

BionicWoman, Tucson, Arizona: '...the debate is between Hillary the frontrunner and Mr. Desperate, Mr. Very Desperate and everyone else...'

BionicWoman, and Hillary Clinton LOST !!
What is Hillary's position on IDs for illegal immigrants ?
What is Hillary's position on Social Security ?
What is Hillary hiding in her White House records ?
Why is she hiding her records ?

Hillary Clinton, 15 years of dishonesty, scandals and divisiveness

The spin goes on

Wy. I like Ron Paul and Biden

As for Obama... He cannot promise to withdraw the troops out by 2013, possibly later and has yet to present a proper exit strategy. He voted in favor of the Patriot Act.. which is a direct infringement on our rights. While I respect the fact that he spoke out against the war before he came into office, he later told the NY Times, had he been in the Senate he may have voted differently. And what about the economy, taxes, social security, not to mention a presidency with him may lead us into another war with Iran or Pakistan, one which he commented he would invade without the consent of the government, and the other where he missed the vote, and never spoke out against and attempted to sponsor a legislation in favor of designating the Iranian National Guard a terrorist organization (he also stated he wouldn't rule out strikes against them) .. And what about his votes making it harder for average citizens to sue big corporations?

not to mention he constantly lies about not being in the pockets of corporations, interest groups and lobbyists, when he CLEARLY is..

"Obama's reliance on such deep-pockets supporters helps explain why he voted for a business-driven "tort reform" bill that rolled back working peoples' ability to obtain reasonable redress and compensation from misbehaving corporations. It is certainly part of why he opposed an amendment to the Bankruptcy Act that would have capped credit card interest rates at 30 percent. It is undoubtedly related to his vote against a bill that would have killed an amendment to the 2005 energy bill that Taxpayers for Common Sense and Citizens Against Government Waste called "one of the worst provisions in this massive piece of legislation." Under the amendment, which passed with Obama's help, U.S. taxpayers are providing millions of dollars in loan guarantees to power plant operators. They "risk losing billions of dollars if the companies default," as Ken Silverstein wrote in the November, 2006 issue of Harper's Magazine ("Barack Obama Inc.: The Birth of a Washington Machine").

"Reliance on corporate cash and power is also likely related to Obama's opposition to the introduction of single-payer national health insurance on the curious grounds that such a welcome social-democratic change would lead to employment difficulties for workers in the private insurance industry and that "voluntary" solutions are "more consonant" with "the American character" than "government mandates." The latter judgment is advanced despite the fact that a large U.S. majority supports government-mandated universal health insurance. "

www.blackagendareport.com
The spin goes on

Edwards is my second choice for prez, but, that is a great idea. Go John!

The spin goes on

Wah wah wah...Hillary is trying to be republican lite because frankly this nation is not about to elect some pie eyed populist liberal...it will sadly take bush III rather than some weenie liberal

The spin goes on

I watched the debates last night and am really trying to stay unemotional and to keep on open mind. It is interesting to me to read these blogs..human nature being what it is, it seems to me that most people had a person in mind they preferred, and that was the person who they stuck with. I would be more interested in Independents, or people that didn't have a clear choice, and this debate cleared it up for them..Here are my choices:
1.Biden really seems to be the clear winner in the debate, as he was in my opinion last time, although he didn't get any press for it then..too bad I don't think he is electable...not enough money. Most people that actually watched the debates seem quite taken with him. He is tough, articulate, knows his facts, spot on, concise.
2.Edwards: he has always been my favorite, and I was glad to see he asked the hard questions, but he turned just as many off for doing so that he gained seemed to me..shame too, cuz they all are going to feel the heat
3. Obama-I thought he was not as polished or as charasmatic as everyone seems to think he was, but honestly, at this point all these guys are good
4. Dodd: He got some high points in..
5. Kucinich-bright, no holds barred, but that stupid set up with the UFO's, bad move on the commentator
6. Hillary-I give her such low ratings because she had the highest standards to meet..not unfair, just is
She is too corporate, big money interests, not electable, and didn't answer a single question posed her cleanly, just evasive to the end. I think she is tough and smart, but I want more than that..I have a major problem with voting with Bush on Iran..
7. She however was quite clear that in principle she was opposed to privatisation and to balancing social security on the backs of old people and the middle class and would do her best to make sure that it was the last resort..

Unfortunately we do not live in a black and white world and 1 minute to discuss complex issues like social security ,getting out of Iraq and health care is frankly absurd!!
also would you prefer a candidate whio is capable of understanding nuances or would you prefer someone who sees the world in terms of the absolute..you know ..bad guys versus us good guys or what was that famous line..if you are not with us then you are against us!

regarding the records..
Consider the fact that every innocent thing she says is turned into a scandal and conspiracy by a rabid press. This was evidenced by yesterday's extremely biased questioning where almost every question was a setup to give Edwards and Obama an opportunity to tear down Clinton .yet not a single follow up question was asked of either Edwards or Obama.. Afterall it was only fair to ask in the context of the iran vote why Obama (and his drumbeats of wasr!!) had not registerd a single protest to the ammendment and was not even present to vote or why Edwards who actually worked for a hedge fund and continues to accept money from them and from trial lawyers has the nerve to criticise Hilary's funding.. the only reason Edwards has not accepted money from these "special interest" is because they did not want to give it to him !
Consider this fact .. Every little thing said by Hilary or Bill has always been taken out of context and blown out of proportion i.
Unfortunately some people seem to prefer buying into these sensational conspiracy theories rather than see this obvious fact ... a republican congress, a republican president and a partisan district attorney for almost 7 years have not managed to make a single allegation stick..in my book that is innocent.. as to divisiveness it is the fact that the Clintons are probably the only political couple who have mangaed to hold their own against the republicans and come out winners..it is no wonder they hate her!!

The spin goes on

Did Edwards lie?

(1) Iraq - Edwards: Ends the war. Edwards has a chance, a good one, because he's honest and strait forward. He also remembers what it was like to live on a bugget more than how to fight like a twelve year old. Hilary is a woman. They debate ever time a man opens his mouth. They are use to it. I am sick of imature presidents. I also would like one who is awake and aware of what's going on around them. Good thing bush is out. I don't want a pres who is too old because of Regan and we need one who is smart enough to research their proposals, this lets Clinton out, we need one who isn't going to be one cided about people or bias about immigrants. This leaves Obama out. Edward added his pepper though. Hillary will be shredded by the republicans if she ever win(she will not of course). She cannot win the intellectual figth, she cannot win the war of ideas. Her machine maybe terrific at hiding her flaws but let's face it she has to be able to carry out what they cook for her.And the dabate last night showed that she cannot deliver.
I wander what if she is ever elected how she will withstand for pressure coming from Iran, Russia and the like. She cannot negociate, she just cant. She will launch the NUKE to protect herself and act tough. She has shown that with the Irak vote, and less than a few years later, she does it again with the Iranian vote. I have been waiting and waiting for somebody to call Hillary on all of her evasive tactics. She has found a million ways to not answer direct questions even to the point of boldly refusing to answer a specific question during 3 debates! Who can get away with this. I was appalled. The press is so busy declaring her the "frontrunner" that they haven't had time to notice that she refuses to discuss the tough issues when asked. "I'm not going to answer hypothetical questions" was one sidestepping answer. Anyone remember that one? I thought that's what a debate was for, so that the voters could get an idea of where everone stood on important issues. It took her forever to come up with her so called health care program also. (To much fanfare, I might add.) For a "frontrunner" you would think she would have had it prepared long before she started running. John Edwards had all his programs ready to go. His healthcare program was unveiled weeks before Hillary's, with no big fanfare from the press, and when Hillary finally showed her plan, what a coincidence, it was very much like his. Time the press let everyone alone to make up their own minds and stopped trying to tell us who our nominee would be. Given a chance, John Edwards will prove he is the only real presidential candidate who can go the distance and beat the GOP. Hillary will be chewed up and spit out by them, she has too much baggage. (Remember the Travel Office scandel?), Wait until they start up on that one! An expensive haircut will be long forgotten. Keep up the good work John!
