Mitt will slash federal money from cities called sanctuaries, first, he has to have a congress to go along unless he takes the imperial road and signs executive orders, two, what money would he slash, all of it, health and police, good plan to start a riot or medical emergency. Mitt may look good but as soon as everyone hears his ideas he will tank in the general election. Blaming cities for a federal problem ignored for many years sounds like killing the baby because it crys.

No, actually THE record setting fundraiser was done in January in Boston by Team Romney hauling in 6.5 million in one National call day.

Romney is by far the best candidate for President (as is his wife & family) and poised to win this.

The anointing of Rudy Guiliani by the national media will only take him so far. Thankfully, the national polls do not control the early primaries.

The very idea of "electability" is an interesting one, in that, WE THE PEOPLE determine someone's "electability."

It’s not the polls, or MSM or…whatever. It’s US!

The object of an election is to put into practice, at the governmental level, the ideals, that are consistent with the U.S. Constitution, I as a voter/taxpayer/American citizen deem beneficial to me personally and me corporately (being a legal citizen who cares deeply about my country).

It’s really quite simple: if enough of US decide that we want our government operating under such-and-such ideals, and we vote based on that desire (not the “lesser of two evils”), it can and does happen.

History, recent and not-so-recent, is replete with examples of “underdogs” triumphing: “Navy Beats Notre Dame, Ending 44-Year Losing Streak” (Nov. 3, 2007); “Appalachian State 34, No. 5 Michigan 32” in “one of the greatest upsets in college football history….” (Sept. 1, 2007); in early-2003, Joe Lieberman was leading the field for the Democratic Presidential nomination yet failed to win any primary; in early-1991 Bill Clinton was at 2% and went on to win the Presidency; in early-1975 Jimmy Carter was polling at 1% and went on to win the Presidency.

Would to God that we as citizens would approach the election process with the fervor, intensity and no-holds-barred approach that we can see in life’s other activities. I can assure you that, although some members of the Navy and Appalachian State teams had their doubts, they were encouraged to believe in themselves and to make the best possible effort they could, being unwilling to settle for anything less than that best effort.

No, no, NO, folks! Our job as U.S. citizens and patriots is not to "pick a winner," which seems to me to be a view which trivializes our opportunity and responsibility as citizens. We’re to carefully consider all our options and then vote based on what is best for our COUNTRY!

One by one, as each of us decides that our vote IS important and that we are modern stewards of this great country, for which so many have given so much, THEN we begin to realize what we must do.

For me, that means expending whatever resources I can to make right what so many have worked so hard to destroy: my country...the United States of America. This great land deserves nothing less than the best I have to give. Can I truly call myself a "patriot" having done less than I could for this great country? What kind of American am I to see an opportunity to install into the White House a man with demonstrable and impeccable credentials and then do little to nothing to forward that effort?

No! I will have no part whatsoever in sitting idly by as others who, in the name of God or Money or “Compassionate Conservatism” or “Honor” or whatever do their utmost to denigrate and dissolve this great country…MY country! RON PAUL for President! Viva la Revolución!

If someone doesn’t like the way the U.S. was designed to operate and opposes a return to that way of thinking and governance, I politely suggest they find another country that DOES provide all the services and care they desire from their government. I think Ron Paul is an impressive man, but I am not YET convinced that he has the executive abilities to be president. This latest haul of cash is amazing, but it wasn't really the product of the organization that HE built. It was supporters from outside his official organization that pulled off this feat. I'm not minimizing their efforts, only saying that it hasn't shown me Paul's abilities to build an effective organization -- though he has undoubtedly impressived the website builders sufficiently to do this for him.

I think he's a great guy and all, honest, principled, etc. But for CEO ability, so far Romney comes out on top.

They'd make an impressive team.

Well, my own husband is a military physician who also saves lives, so I am not deprecating Paul's medical credentials. In military medicine one has many opportunities to exercise many different leadership roles, but Paul wasn't in the service all that long.

I think Ron Paul is a great guy. I just presently think he would be a better vice-president -- someone who could advise someone who excels in executive skills -- and help keep the president true to his principles.

I think there is the potential for some impressive synergy there. Paul true to self and country. Romney and incredible do-er and achiever, who knows how to get the job done. I think they could both use the strengths of the other.

What is so contagious about Ron Paul? The man has not even topped 5% in popularity in the United States. I cannot comprehend why anyone would vote for Ron Paul. The media hates him. He would be the least effective president of all time because he does not practice diplomacy. While he maybe straight forward about the constitution, he needs to win with the support of the media. Otherwise, he has no chance of winning this political contest. The media would "eat him alive" should he become president each and every time he did something that changes the status quo. Then, before you know it, the people would all be praying for an impeachment like many are doing for Bush.

It is my opinion that the only way the Constitution will be saved is by more blood on our own soil. A single president cannot do it by themselves. It would require a president, a significant majority of the Senate and the House, and some Supreme Court justices who are able to see the constitution from the position our founding fathers saw it. Anything else, simply will not work. There are far to many people who are self-absorbed in their political views rather than thinking about how decisions will impact the nation as a whole. The constitution was only meant for those who lead a life of service to others. If we as Americans cannot or will not serve others, than the constitution will lose value in the lives of those who do not serve.

I cannot comprehend why Thompson is still in this race. He repeatedly makes blunders about issues as if he has not fully studied it. All he is doing is living on his popularity as an actor to get him through the process. Quite frankly, I seriously doubt Thompson can even rent South Carolina. So far, he is not even doing any commercials their or many of the other first caucus states with the exception of Iowa.

If America is going to change, it is not going to be by the hands of a former lobbiest. Those guys are why we are in the mess we are in to begin with.

I would hate to see Ron Paul supporters sit this one out and help elect Hillary. Can any of the major candidates Guiliani,Romney, Thompson et al have Ron Paul on their ticket? Libertarians are a unique strain of conservatives. Other than the foreign policy crevice which is admittedly expansive as none of the republican's are non-interventionists, who does Paul line up well with.

That being said, my problem with R. Paul is that the constitution doesn't say to avoid entangling alliances. That was something Jefferson warned against. However, we relied on "entangling alliances" with France and others to win our independence. Those alliances later saved us from a swastika on every state capital.

While I am a Romney man, I agree with Ron Paul that a long line of Presidents have usurped war powers from Congress. However, Congress has allowed that to happen. When public support for war exists and it appears to be in out national security interests to declare war, congress has to step up to the plate with a formal declaration. They share a huge part of the blame for the abdication of that role. When a President you do have to make a decision--do you reverse history and turn it over to congress? After all, the constitution does make the president Commander in Chief. That would lend authority to act short of war. It is a fascinating constitutional question. Rudy says no, he doesn't need congress' approval to act unilaterally. Paul says yes. Romney says he would consult legal counsel. While he was ballyhoed for saying that, this is a constitutional question debated in every law school and Romney is right in recognizing that that these are tough questions of law and fact that should be brought to the attorney general and others.

Bush won the 2004 nomination with no competition.

As incumbent wartime president he was guaranteed victory in the primaries.

The only reason to vote in the 2004 primary was to show support for Bush and the Iraq War. IF the Republicans were so gung-ho about Bush and the war in 2004, they would have flocked to the primaries and support him.

But, they did NOT. The 2004 Republican turnout was the lowest in history. Those who voted in it are staunch Bush supporters and war Hawks.

All the "Scientific Polls" are ONLY contacting that very low percentage of Die hard Bush supporters and war hawks.

They are a fring element and do not represent the Republican party as a whole. These polls are not "scientific" and in fact are SERIOUSLY FLAWED because they represent a very small group of hawkish staunch bush supporters and not the average Joe Republican, not to mention the droves of moderate democrats and independents who have registered to vote for Ron PAul in the Primaries.

Robertson's endorsement does seem a pretty weird choice for an evengelical, I would readily agree.
What's with "hoping" that Guiliani would appoint judges he approves of when Guiliani's everyday choices would lead you to believe otherwise?

I can only surmise that Robertson doesn't really think Ron Paul has a prayer and so is more worried about having a Mormon in office than in staying true to his principles. He may be thinking that if Romney is nominated, it might make Mormons look like legitimate human beings.

Ron Paul supports don't get polled. Neo-cons do. I've been a GOPer since I could vote. I skipped the primaries along with 94% of the GOP, where they voted for Bush. I won't get polled. I'm not a 'likely voter'. Well, we'll see how that criteria of 'likely' pans out. The dems who've joined the Ron Paul Revolution wont get polled. The independents wont get polled. I live in Ann Arbor. The Ann Arbor meetup is joining with the Columbus meetup for the Ohio St-Michigan game. "Wolverines and Buckeyes agree on Ron Paul" Trust me, it's the only thing we agree on! And yes, we'll be at the primaries. The Ron Paul camp knows how to spread a message, I think people are finding.

Also, to question if Ron Paul has 'CEO' ability... who the hell wants a CEO?! No one likes their boss! I want an American President!

The job of president of the United States IS a CEO job. Even though many of us really like many things about your man, it is not looking that he is very EFFECTIVE at many of the things CEO's or even managers do.

You are very frustrated with how the media ignores Ron Paul, but it is Ron Paul's job to get his message heard. If he can't do that, maybe he's not really up to the standard required for POTUS. The media is going to HATE whatever Republican gets the nomination anyway, done deal. So the nominee has GOT to be able to handle a hostile media. He's got to have the social intelligence and social skills to handle people of differeing opinions. We may admire Paul for his integrity, but his in-your-face style isn't taken from "How to Win Friends and INFLUENCE People" -- emphasis on the word INFLUENCE.

The nominee has to be someone who is capable of influencing voters to Change Their Minds about issues.
