No gun issue to think of Grover and I too like my guns so what do you really want to say. Thankfully, the national polls do not control the early primaries.

Here's what Kathleen Parker had to say today on National Review 2008 predictions:

Kathleen Parker:

"I hate guessing for all the usual reasons, including the fact that 4,000 things can happen to change things. But here’s my go-for-broke best guess: Clinton vs. Romney.

Clinton will beat the boys for the nomination because she’s tougher, has the machinery, the money and The Bill. Romney will prevail as Bobby Jindal did in Louisiana because this is the season of the brainiac. IQ matters.

Mitt will take Iowa and New Hampshire and begin to get the attention of the many who still don’t know who he is. His Mormonism eventually will become less important as his campaign focuses attention on values. His mind-changing on issues such as abortion will become less important because in the brain game, people who never change their minds are idiots. Not insignificantly, Mitt can keep writing himself checks and he’s got a winning track record with the Olympics and as MA governor.

And if he tags Mike Huckabee, beloved by evangelicals, for VP, he’s even smarter than I thought.

Will he beat Hillary? Well, that’s another crystal ball altogether. She’s never run anything; Mitt has run a state, a wildly successful business, and bailed out the Olympics when it was going under. When it comes to executive experience, there’s no comparison. None. When it comes to first families, Hillary still has The Bill, and Mitt has a lovely wife who will never embarrass anyone. These folks are so squeaky clean, they’ll have to resurrect Norman Rockwell to paint the White House portrait."

Exactly!

With the sub-title of you article, "Stand by your man", it (appropriately) reminded me of the new Rascal Flatts song...STAND

"Cause when push comes to shove you taste what you're made of,

You might bend til you break cause it's all you can take

On your knees you look UP

Decide you've had enough... and you STAND!"

Out with Republican mediocrity in with Storge!! If someone doesn’t like the way the U.S. was designed to operate and opposes a return to that way of thinking and governance, I politely suggest they find another country that DOES provide all the services and care they desire from their government. (“Paging a Mr. Robert Altman and Mr. Alec Baldwin…Final boarding call for any and all flights departing America….”) But that is NOT the way the U.S. was designed and I, and millions of others, intend on returning the U.S. to it’s roots…it’s Constitutional roots.
Oh-eight (R): Stand by your man

Carrie:

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney did raise the most $$$ in one day irrespective of how it was achieved. The man has not even topped 5% in popularity in the United States. I cannot comprehend why anyone would vote for Ron Paul. The media hates him. He would be the least effective president of all time because he does not practice diplomacy. While he maybe straight forward about the constitution, he needs to win with the support of the media. Otherwise, he has no chance of winning this political contest. The media would "eat him alive" should he become president each and every time he did something that changes the status quo. Then, before you know it, the people would all be praying for an impeachment like many are doing for Bush.

It is my opinion that the only way the Constitution will be saved is by more blood on our own soil. A single president cannot do it by themselves. It would require a president, a significant majority of the Senate and the House, and some Supreme Court justices who are able to see the constitution from the position our founding fathers saw it. Anything else, simply will not work. There are far to many people who are self-absorbed in their political views rather than thinking about how decisions will impact the nation as a whole. The constitution was only meant for those who lead a life of service to others. If we as Americans cannot or will not serve others, than the constitution will lose value in the lives of those who do not serve.

Oh-eight (R): Stand by your man

I cannot comprehend why Thompson is still in this race. He repeatedly makes blunders about issues as if he has not fully studied it. All he is doing is living on his popularity as an actor to get him through the process. Quite frankly, I seriously doubt Thompson can even rent South Carolina. So far, he is not even doing any commercials their or many of the other first caucus states with the exception of Iowa.

If America is going to change, it is not going to be by the hands of a former lobbiest. Paul is that the constitution doesn't say to avoid entangling alliances. That was something Jefferson warned against. However, we relied on "entangling alliances" with France and others to win our independence. Those alliances later saved us from a swastika on every state capital.

While I am a Romney man, I agree with Ron Paul that a long line of Presidents have usurped war powers from Congress. However, Congress has allowed that to happen. When public support for war exists and it appears to be in out national security interests to declare war, congress has to step up to the plate with a formal declaration. They share a huge part of the blame for the abdication of that role. When a President you do have to make a decision--do you reverse history and turn it over to congress? After all, the constitution does make the president Commander in Chief. That would lend authority to act short of war. It is a fascinating constitutional question. Rudy says no, he doesn't need congress' approval to act unilaterally. Paul says yes. Romney says he would consult legal counsel. While he was ballyhoed for saying that, this is a constitutional question debated in every law school and Romney is right in recognizing that that these are tough questions of law and fact that should be brought to the attorney general and others.

Oh-eight (R): Stand by your man

Isn't Romney a member of the anti-American sovereignty CFR.
