I keep making this same post everywhere I go because everything I learn about Mitt solidifies it for me: As a proof is in the pudding kind of guy, I see Mitt Romney as the clear winner for the Republican Party. His whole life is a triumph. He has triumphed in the political world as a governor and as a savior of the 2002 Olympics. He has triumphed in the business world like no other businessman. And, most importantly, he has triumphed in his own home as a faithful husband and role-model father. I WANT TO BE LIKE MITT. His life is the life I want for me and my family. Most people are more enlightened on the whole Mormon thing. It is a predominant religion, not just in Utah, but in the West. Also Romney is not even from the West. Mormonism is a cult, plain and simple. Christianity is more than just believing in the teachings of Christ. It's believing that Christ was the son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit (which Mormons don't believe in), born of a virgin mother (which they don't believe in), was crucified, died and was buried...and rose from the dead 3 days later and decended into Heaven. Christianity is based soley on these principles and the belief that God sent his son to die for our sins, and that accepting that is the only path to Heaven. Mormons not only waver on many of these points (or don't believe in them at all), but they also have added canons (including the book of Mormon) to the Bible that negate Christian teachings.

I think Mitt is a good man, with a solid moral character (as most Mormons are), but to confuse their belief system with Christianity is extremely misguided.

Where do you read such lies about the Mormons? Mormons ABSOLUTELY believe in the HOLY SPIRIT and the JESUS WAS born of a VIRGIN.

In addition, Joseph Smith, the founder of the LDS Church, declared: “The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it.”

The Book of Mormon does not negate Biblical teachings, but only supplements it. It's purpose it to "convince the Jew and the Gentile that Jesus is the Christ". How must it look to non-Christians to see Christians so divided and contentious over the teachings of their holy book, and when they have so many different interpretations. Should such an impression of Christianity lead people to Christ? Or rather "in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established"? (Matthew 18:16)

All you have to do read the information on www.lds.org and www.mormon.org and you will see have terribly misinformed you have been.

Jesus, said by their fruits ye shall know them. If Mitt Romney and "most Mormons" as you say, are of "solid moral character", then you must figure out where the discrepancy is. A bad tree cannot bring forth good fruit.

I can assure you, your take on Mormonism is competely wrong and you have been totally misinformed. Mormons are Christians, but just don't necessarily share exactly all of the same beliefs you do. And it certainly hope you would not vote for more-than-qualified candidate like Mitt Romney over a misunderstood view of his religion.

Mitt should ask “Why haven’t any other presidential contenders been asked to give a JFK speech?” Huckabee is a minister, why shouldn’t he give a JFK speech?

The Evangelicals are politically outspoken, whereas the Mormons are apolitical. The church membership is reminded to not promote political issues in the name of the church or use LDS assets for such purposes; no other church exercises such separation of church and state.

Mitt needs do nothing more than take the oath of office “…preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States” which includes the First Amendment – Separation of Church and State.

On the subject of Flip-Flopping, Mitt should respond by asking for a show of hands by those people who have never changed their mind about anything. A change of mind, aka “flip-flop” is nothing more than evidence that that person has gathered additional information that sheds new light on a subject sufficient to reconsider the original belief or opinion. It’s just a part learning.
