So now we know Hillary is not only a cold heartless little woman, she also gets people in trouble at work.

Of course the woman probably has legal recourse to go after the nursing home (you can't go after a person based on their political beliefs, though that is hard to believe in here sometimes).

She won't even leave a tip for the poor waitress even though the meal was on the house, which means she doesn't care about the middle and lower class people of this country like she claims she does.

Obama didn't write the note, but at least he shows he has a good heart.

though I cannot stand Hillary for a variety of reasons, I think it is wrong to punish someone for their politics. If I was her boss I would not punish her for being in a picture with Hillary. that is just wrong and I'd think illegal.

POCKET CHANGE

I was mortified on the 3 or 4 occasion in my life that I forgot to leave a tip and I always remind others in the group if I see them not leaving a tip. For me it is like automatically putting on my seat belt when I get in a car -- a no-brainer. It is hard to imagine why Hillary did not think of it -- traveling in entourages too much?

Reminds me of a story I read about how Richard Nixon never had any pocket change and how the Secret Service had to supply the coins when needed.

Also reminds me of the movie "Dr. Strangelove" when Col. Bat Guano didn't have coins for the pay phone to call the President because he didn't carry pocket change into battle.

Might be interesting for interviewers to ask candidates to empty their pockets to see if they carry change. Steven Colbert had Dennis Kucinich empty his pockets on the show.

I might add that it is expected that a tip will still be paid on the amount of discount coupons or when the meal is on the house.

People may not like the tip system (I hate it) but we must take the world as it is and not penalize a hard working person for our philosophy. The substandard minimum wage for restaurant workers and farm workers must go. BTW, France has done away with tipping by law.

Based on this analysis, Senator Clinton spend 42% more - and this can be amount to wasteful spending.

The moral of this story is simple, if you elect Senator Clinton, expect the pork barrel spending to go up. She is going to be the pork barrel in chief. Her private behaviour surely reflects how she is going to spend tax payers money.

As someone else pointed out, 15% (although the norm is now 20%, I believe) is a suggested amount. I have tipped far more than that when I have been particularly impressed with the service I get; I have also not tipped at all when the service has been atrocious or the waitress was flat-out rude. The "correction" is great, but misleading. As it turns out, Brad Crawford is a Clinton supporter, so it looks like the Clinton campaign is just doing damage control. The waitress's story hasn't changed, so it does not look like the real situation was any different than first described here.

nuanced - Let's say you are right an the waitress was never given the tip, but (as the owner said) the tip was left when they paid the bill.

I know that when I pay by credit card, I often add the tip to my card rather than leave cash. Perhaps that is what the campaign did? I'm doubting they got separate tickets and paid in cash.

Let's see. Hillary and her entourage (or any of the other campaigns for that matter) descend on a restaurant, probably causing quite a bit more than the usual disruption, they incur a $157 tab and leave a $100 tip to spread around to everyone, including the waitress, maybe?

So, no, you can't infer that she is trying to buy a vote. It was actually a decent gesture given the situation.

So good for Hillary's folks in this case, assuming the updates are accurate. Meanwhile, you just go ahead and be the cynic.

-Clinton campaign produced a $157 receipt proving that they paid for their meal.

-Clinton campaign claims to have left a $100 tip on the credit card.

-No evidence of tip on receipt.

-Clinton campaign changes story, claims to have left $100 cash tip.

-Clinton campaign refuses to provide name of staffer who left the $100.

-Waitress says she never received a tip.

-Manager says a tip was left (keep in ming Manager also states that he was not there on the day Clinton visited).

-Clinton campaign staffer went back to the restaurant to sort out the issue.

-Clinton campaign staffer insisted to waitress that a tip was left. The waitress describes this staffer as being very insistent that the tip was left.

-Clinton campaign staffer gave her $20 and left.

Forgive me, Hillraisers, but I trust the waitress, here. I think believe the Clinton campaign on just about anything requires the willful suspension of disbelief.

And it's not so much the substance of the issue that matters here. If Hillary didn't leave a tip, that's her prerogative. But I believe that distortions, manipulations, and cover-ups are just another day at the office for either Clinton. And that is what I see as so troubling here. Similarly, the BJ that Bill got from Monica was not such a big deal. But when asked about it in court, under oath, it was the dodging and weaving (read lying) that became an issue.

I just wish that, for once, a Clinton would own up for a mistake, apologize and move on.

None of the money involved was Hillary's - it was campaign money. The $157 and under/over tip decision did not involve any personal funds until the money went into the diner's till or into waiter's/waitress's pockets. Of course, the credit card company got its cut, sales & income taxes (if reported) were part of the transaction (or lack thereof). Is there an auditable trail maintained for campaign funds expenses - are receipts required? Or is there a walking around cache of paper money that is assumed to be used for tips?

When confronted by two conflicting sides of the same story, here is a handy rule to follow:

The side that changes the facts of its side of the story (Tipped $100 on credit card. No, wait, a staffer went back to pay $100 cash. No, wait, the staff paid the waitress $20) is LYING. Believe the other side -- the waitress's version hasn't changed, and she has on-the-record witnesses.

This really isn't Clinton's fault, per se. I'm sure it was merely an oversight of her staff to forget to tip the waitress. Of course, IMHO, forgetting to tip a waitress or waiter is unconscionable, mainly because servers depend on tips to make a living.

Were I Hillary, I would have made damn sure that the "little people" in my wake were well-taken care of. How difficult would it be for her to just carry some cash and throw a crisp $20 or $50 on the counter as a tip? Behaving like royalty is no way to get elected, Dems. Remember John Kerry?

Refusing to admit error is also no way to get elected. This would have just gone away had Clinton or one of her staff just said, "Oh my God, I can't believe we forgot to tip her!" and then made sure that the tip happened.

Hillary's arrogance will ultimately be her undoing.
