Obama was a new senator with 1 staff working for him. His voting record is online for all to see. Big difference from having an ex-prez with an entire library and boxes upon boxes of records archived. Nice redherring argument, though Lynn. H Clinton's records are at the B CLinton library, but she won't release hers until after 1/3/08 Iowa caucus maybe. B Obama's voting record is available everywhere. B Obama has never requested her records from her senate time. She, however, is claiming that she garnered 'experience' from her time as first lady with almost absolutely nothing to show for it(except for the healthcare debacle). Nice try Ms Sweet(grade E for effort).

The press are full of crap. All they wanted was a juicy headline to make Obama looks bad. i guess Obama has learned his lesson from the summer campaign.

I remember Press taking all his answer out of contest. Headline like "Obama plan to bomb Pakistan" make Press look pitiful. Back then, they were asking meaningless questions like "Are you black Enough".

I am glad Obama put them in their right position. They need to send all of them (Presss corp) back to school to study Ethics and Professionalism.

It's only interesting if you don't understand things. For example, if you don't understand that a state senator having one staffer--who isn't an archivist--doesn't (and physically can't) keep records the same way that the President--with hundreds of staffers specifically devoted to archiving presidential records--is required by law to, then you might imply there's something "interesting" here.

You might also imply something "interesting" here if, like Republicans on the run from the electorate proclaiming how similar Republicans and Democrats are, you wish to imply an artificial equivalence between two candidates.

Can the Clintonites come up with nothing but lies, smear, and spin in support of their candidate? No, of course not.

Senate record to senate record, Obama beats Hillary hands down. The only thing she's beat him at is porkbarrel spending $10 for every $1 Obama earmarked. But hey, she's supposedly the champion of fiscal responsibility, since Bill was so great at it during his years, even if that excess couldn't be used to finance health care reform, Bill claims the money wasn't available because of him!

If Hillary wants to base her "superior" record on White House documents that exist, but are sealed away, then she needs to unseal those documents for all to read. Obama is not claiming that he has some overarching grand experience that bests Clinton. He has the better judgment. Experience to judgment, judgment wins every time.

Having 30 years of experience dividing party lines and casting the wrong votes... that's not what we need in the Presidency. 4 years from now, is Hillary going to use her ol' Iraq line "If I knew then what I knew now" after she blindly attacks Iran because the public opinion poll supports it?

Cheney had the best resume in the country. See where that got us? Judgment first. Experience second. You can have all the experience in the world, but a wrong decision is a wrong decision. If you have good judgment, that wrong decision doesn't happen in the first place.

Public Statments mean nothing without action. So if she is so good then she should have lots more accomplishments. Barack has done plenty in a short periond of time and on his own. Hillary would not even be running if not for Bill. I just don't see her as a standout.

How do you know what B Obama did while in the senate. Easy, do a google search. It is available online. How do you know what H Clinton did in the senate , easy google it. How do you know what her so-called 'experience' was as first lady during her husbands 8 years in office(she wants us to take her word for it because they do not plan on releasing the bulk of those documents until after 1/3/08 Iowa caucus(if ever).

nor up to date.
Concidering that Obama has made public everything including his earmarks, it should not be that big a deal. Lynn sweet is one to find fault about Obama as she tend to write up Hillary. Her columns are usually pro Hillary and not so nice to Obama. She knows good and well that the records at the statehouse could be anywhere.

If anything the time that she spent in Arkansas and raising her highly successful was stifling her own career.

I don't really know what you look for as a stand out? is it a guy that had one good speech and since campaigning has only made it to 20% of the senate votes -- the least of any presidential candidate currently in the senate?

I think people are forgetting a huge fact here: all of Obama's votes, bills he wrote, and other actions in the state senate ARE part of the public record, and are fully available. That is a record he's running on. This request is for notes he jotted down during his time as a state senator; being a state senator is no glamorous job with a large staff nor any mechanism to archive anything.

Clinton is running in large part on her record as first lady for which there are currently no significant public records. She wasn't in an elected position, so there are no votes we can look at.

There is a huge difference between the two.
