I led a group of historic preservationists who tried to stop the development of the original Woodstock Site which sits in the centert of Bethel Woods. In spite of the fact that we fought against permanent structures being placed on 38 acres of deemed “historic land”, we were very much in favor of Bethel Woods itself.
The ecomony and growth that is so much needed in that area cannot be denied. With $17 million NY State tax $$$ already put into this project, and plans already underway to bring public sewer lines using federal tax grants - spending $1 million more $$ to help make such an area even more inviting??? Well, I think we spend more money on less needed reasons.
So, I guess John McCain hasn’t been to Bethel, and if he has = it hasn’t been lately. He would have seen that this funny, haha, Woodstock Museum money was being used for a bunch of peoples better good IN OUR OWN COUNTRY
