ALL of his records for the last 8 years are open to the public and alway's have been! The only thing that there is no record's of are his personal schedule's and that's because he kept them himself. They were not done by some government employee to do it for him, so they just weren't kept. The media and everyone else has alway's had access to them so go try to find another argument. Hillary is a joke and her true color's are starting to show. You can only b.s. the public for so long before someone pull's the right string and bring out the real person.
The truth hurt's and no one want's to hear it but at least Obama has the gut's to avoid beating-around-the-bush and tell you like it is. He has shown more honesty and also shown that no matter what the poll say's he stick's to what he believe's is right. To change ones mind on any issue once the facts are clear or new facts come to light is the responsible way to lead a country. A person who makes the best possible decision with the facts at hand and then with new facts changes that decision-- is the person I want for President---not a person who gives an answer in response to pressure or doesn't change the decision because of the possibility of being rediculed by people who don't understand the complexity of the issues.

Clinton won't support driver's licenses

I'm SO glad that people are seeing fit to knock Hillary out of contention. We've bought the hype best used by Newt and his cronies...i.e paint the opposition as flip-floppers. Every-day people get to wait, and then change there minds on things all the time, and no one cares that much. But let a politician do it and it's a horrible flaw. The Drivers license question, was a media produced got'cha question, and everyone with half a brain knows it. No matter which way Hillary would have answered, someone would have been ticked off at her. She did the prudent thing IMHO...i.e wait and see which answer would do the least damage. If you folks out there don't understand how politics work.... it's time you get real.

Clinton won't support driver's licenses

Seriously, she was simply acknowledging we have an immigration issue. She is a smart capable person who can govern this country better than the current administration and will not have the learning curve Obama will have. Besides if this was another candidate people would not be jumping all over HIM! Also at least she has plans, what are Obama's? Yes he is inspirational, Yes he charismatic, but what does he stand for? Hope is not going to solve our problems!

Clinton won't support driver's licenses

Is it any wonder our political system is such a mess -- just listen to some of you here.

I watched the debate, and Hillary didn't take a position FOR or AGAINST the drivers license issue. That's how some of you "anti-Hillary" vultures (with the help of the bored media) are choosing to interpret what she said. She took a 'cautious' and 'thoughtful' approach to the subject and didn't commit one way or the other. What's wrong with that? Isn't that better than the ridgid, cowboy stubborness we have had from Bush the past 7 years (oh, wait -- I forgot..its called "decisive" right?).

So, now she took a firm stand. Great - what's your problem? At the time the question was asked she did not seem to have a full, well-reasoned position on the driver's license issue (a state matter), as she does on a full range of federal issues (domestic, defense, and foreign policy) likely to come before the next president.

As part of comprehensive immigration reform, do you want driver's licensing to become a federal issue, where you go to the IRS office or the Social Security Administration office instead of the state DOT office?

In all of the ad nauseum blog criticism of Clinton's answer, I have read no practical solution to the illegal immigration problem. No Democratic presidential candidate and no Republican presidential candidates has proposed a clear solution either. Why? Because no solution is possible without acknowledging that U.S. business has a vested interest in maintaining the status quo and (like it or not) we do as well. We must address that contradiction before moving forward.

Voters who believe that illegal immigration is among today's essential core issues are becoming the new "single issue" robots of the 21st Century, much like the "right-to-life" robots of the 20th.

Clinton won't support driver's licenses

Shes really crazy. I know that you've been trying hard to explain the inexplicable. October 31, 2007 the day after the philly debate, Senator Clinton's campaign send a press release in support of Governor spitzer idea to give an DL to illegal immigrants. It was reported by Adam Nagourney in the NY Times. So in less than two weeks, Senator Clinton offers four positions on a simple question.
In the debate she says that it makes sense but when she was called out by Senator dodd, she says that she never said that she was supporting the idea. Then on October 31, 2007 she sends a press release to announce her support of Spitzer's idea. Finally, yesterday after checking the polls and the withdrawal of the plan by Governor Spitzer, she announced that she is against the idea.
Here is the link of the report of Adam Nagourney of the NY Times.
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/10/31/a-day-later-clinton-embraces-spitzers-license-effort/index.html?hp

I'm an independent, but after the bush years i was saying to myself that there is no way I'll vote the GOP in 2008. Now, i know for sure that if the only candidate the democratic party can come out with is Hillary, then I'll go back to the GOP.
I've found a new respect for the courage of Senator Mc Cain and Senator Obama. These two candidates are real leaders, they have some backbone to stand for what they believe in. You may not agree with them, they'll listen but they'll always tell you what is needed to be heard and not you want to hear. Our country in these difficult times desperately needs this kind of leadership.

Clinton won't support driver's licenses

It is so sad to see the lack of knowledge on these boards.
